Are there some new ideas about common items? I'm at level 157 and i can't find common items, i'm rising my composing level only beacuse my guild member help me.

try to go back to earlier levels to farm them.. at level 101+ they start giving 2 frags per item

there aren't monster that drop common items... from level 100 to 157 i never dropped a common...

I hope you did not use the wiki to search these levels, I found several creatures that according to wiki drop common items but they did not, only available through shops.
UFSG gave me two creatures, but only 1 of 6 items dropped by them is common. Turned out to be better to kill rats.
