Currently heavy armor dominates the game, with 1 set of heavy armor you can be 3 classes, templar, warrior, and assassin on steroids. (more dps/armor with templar and warr talents)
Light armor you can be 2 classes, prophet and mage or a weak hybrid that can heal itself with sorc bonus from light armor (mage tank/sin or something)
Med sin armor is useful for just assassins really, maybe a weird war/sin hybrid
med rang armor is just that.... ranger armor, rangers cant really be hybrids unless they become a weak ranger/sin
hybrids are really really crappy. there should be more varied sets or something IMO but thats for another thread

whats everyones thoughts on the current armor situation? do you agree that with 1 set of armor you can be 3 classes??

med sin armor is currently good for no one except a crit sin (which if you are after stats is no good). The new set does look nice at least :)

more of a reason (sadly) for sins to go heavy armor and easily switch between sin/templar/warrior :/
never played sin although i respec'd to a mage/sin hybrid which is semi-weak (shouldve went full melee and gotten +110~ dps) but thats irrelevant

People always seem to forget the Dexterous talent when comparing Medium to Heavy armor. 12% haste is a significant amount of haste!

Unfortunately, Assassins benefit less from haste than the other two melee classes, as most of their primary damaging skills are either bleeds(which don't benefit from haste if you have enough to keep 100% uptime), spammable skills like Lacerate, or Blood Thirst-dependent skills.

Ironically, taking both the crit and haste talents for Medium armor might actually result in more DPS for Warriors than using Heavy armor and taking Battle Hardened! This would require some serious calculation dependent on base DPS and, importantly, battle duration.

Also, keep in mind that, thinking towards Level 50, crit will continue to scale the same while Attack Power will get weaker, so the gap will close even more.

The haste bonus from ranger tree is nice, but like you said is of small consequence to sins.

Would absolutely love a small dodge bonus, that way someone wanting to boost AP could go heavy, while the more traditional medium armor user could get some use out of it with more dodge. Whether that is a change in Ambidexterous or a new talent dont know.

instead of dodge bonus i can imagine increased critical dmg bonus above standard 50%
