I'm a guild founder, and I think this thread is REALLY helpful! It takes a lot to run a guild, both financially and time as well, if you want to be successful.

For some players, there just seems to be an appeal to "running your own show" even if you are already in a Top25 guild. *shrug* I'm happy where I am.

Absolutely. I was (perhaps inaccurately) using it as a shorthand for "Cooperative, developed guild with plenty of shared gear, complementary buffs and great structures"
