[Mister Doom]

One of the most common questions I get asked is, "What is a chest?" usually followed by "Where can I find them?"

The first part is easy, a chest is an event that randomly appears on a map. They require certain special keys in order to open them and retrieve the items held inside.

The keys can be bought with either Allegiance Tokens or Gold through the 'Loyalty' section of the 'Upgrades' menu on the left hand toolbar.

There are FOUR keys available.

This is the Bronze key. It costs 50 or 250,000
This is the Silver key. It costs 200 or 1,000,000
This is the Gold key. It costs 500 or 5,000,000
This is the Crystal key. It costs 1000 or 10,000,000



The 'where' is a little harder to answer however. The chests follow no pattern to their appearance, they are completely random.

They do not show up in the map section of the world screen as some people believe, they show up in the creature lists.

Much like Champions/Elites/Super Elites and Titans they always show up at the very top of the list.




Below is a list of all the chests available in FS, the keys required to open them and the items that can be found inside.

Alchemists Chest - Potion of Genius Gatherer.

Black Iron Chest - / Blue Lightning Boots / Obsidian Rune.

Bronze Studded Chest - / Flaming Dragon Shield / Scintillating Gem Amulet.

Bone Inlaid Chest - / Spirit Tainted Boots / Spirit Tainted Gloves.

Canopic Chest - Khufuteps Death Boots.

Cursed Chest - Sir Marells Cursed Shield.

Gladiators Chest - Helm of Gaiustus.

Iridescent Chest - Rainbow Gem of Gallah.

Iron Bound Chest - Gem of Tyche.

Gold Inlayed Chest - / Brass Demon Helm / Ruby Red Ring.

Rune Engraved Chest - / Chameleon Gloves / Pulsing Heart Armor.

Solid Bronze Chest - Ring of Dual Bronze.
Spirit Chest - Sword of Emerald Fire.

Steel Chest - / Armor of Astraio / Reborn Leaf Staff.

On a final note, some people believe that when a chest contains more than one possible item the outcome is determined by whether you use Allegiance Tokens http://fileserver.hu...kin/loyalty.gif or Gold http://fileserver.hu...old_button.gif. This is a myth, I have never once used gold to purchase a key and have obtained all of the items available.

Just for the sake of curiousness-

If Im on Naral (West) and there is a Wickerman(Titan), a Cursed Samurai (Super Elite),Naral Pegasus (Champion), and a Chest all on the same loc, do you have any clue based on experience what order they would be listed in? I mean, I would imagine it would be in that order listed, but I could see the chest working its way to the top since its, well, not a creature.

So far I've never come across it, I'd also assume the chest would be on top of everything. If it ever happens I'll try to get some screenshot evidence.
