Hi Everyone,

 

Servers have been updated.

 

This years summer event : Summer's Passing has begun. All servers have been updated and players can now travel to Booty Island and earn vanity gear, pets, emotes, mounts and achievements!

 

This update fixes a few bugs and opens up some content
 
Patch Notes
Bug fixes
  • Fixed a bug where the chocolate effect would not be removed if the player logged out</li>
  • Fixed more bugs with the easter egg pickup scripts where they could get stuck in the wrong state.
  • Added leash prevention to some creatures used in seasonal events.

Quests

  • Unforeseen Consequences is now a level 49 quest. Speak to Mage Fermii to start.
  • Liberation of the Plagued is now a level 49 quest. Speak to Archmage Rufan to start.

 

Hotfixed:

  • Client text was aliased when it shouldn't be.
  • Enabled both dungeons in looking for group.
  • Blood status effect cleared properly when the barbarian boss dies in Drateols lab.
  • Fixed a bug where the lake ghast cellar door could put you in the instanced version when you are not on the Elusive Origins/Tracking the Source quests.
  • Drateol lab mobs aggro anyone in the whole room now instead of being limited by vision.
  • Fixed several bugs where the player could be invisible after canceling out of teleporter animations.
  • Staggered plagued release in penultimate boss encounter in Drateol's lab.
  • Fixed the names on the map and in the quest for bosses in Forgotten Ruins.
  • Fixed Emberhide Raptor not being a champion mob.

Please provide feedback on the level 49 quests as they are the first level 50 quests and may contain numerous bugs.

A big thank you to ElleTee and the devs for giving us max level players something new to do in game :) maybe, just maybe this will lead to more content for us, i'm guessing level 50 still won't be implemented as the quests have been lowered? but the devs still deserve a big thank you so come on guys, show your gratitude ;)

Bug Report Time!

 

My group discovered two issues with Draetol's Lab in our run this morning, though thankfully they can both be circumvented with a little bit of creative party management.

The first is that it is exceedingly difficult for parties to enter the dungeon together due to an issue with map instances. When players enter the the Lake Ghast House Cellar (The staging area for the dungeon), they enter into a solo instance of the map that party members can neither join nor teleport to.

 

For people attempting this dungeon with a group, a solution my group found to fix this issue was have a player remove their gear, enter the dungeon alone, die, and respawn, at which point they will be placed in the (correct?) multiplayer instance, and may then teleport players to them.

 

This solution also has the interesting consequence of making (for a brief, shining moment) running around like an idiot in your underwear a useful step in defeating the dungeon.

Possibly related to this issue is another one where it is impossible for parties to reset their dungeon instance using the totem in the Cellar. The totem allows players to interact with it normally, but does not appear to do anything to the dungeon.

This can be easily worked around by disbanding and re-forming the party, and is at most a minor annoyance.

I have always wanted the chance to learn a new dungeon in this game, and I was very happy to have the chance here. Hats off to the development team for their work.

Bug Report (Continued)

 

All Administrators:

 

Forgotten Ruins re-introduces an old bug that has the potential to severely impact game balance and the server economy if left unpatched. I will be DM-ing you, livingtarget (ElliTee), the details both on here and on discord. This bug is not immediately game-breaking, nor does it appear to have damaging effects on the server itself.

ED. 7-20: Per private discussion with devs the above bug is being resolved in the 7-20 hotfix. I will let you know if anything changes.

 

With that out of the way...

 

Just finished running Forgotten Ruins. Very nice aesthetic overall, and far less intense than Draetol's Lab. I would definitely recommend starting with this one for less geared players. Unfortunately it is has less consistent performance than Draetol's Lab.

Several minor issues with pathing exist for some of the mobs. My group observed mobs getting stuck in weird positions, or simply becoming stuck in an evade loop in the middle of an (apparently) traversable path. None of these were repeatable, but issues occurred regularly through the run.

Like Draetol's Lab, Forgotten Ruins can not be reset by using the dungeon totem. Groups must disband and reform to reset their instance.

Odd periods of a meteor impact animation seemed to target avatars randomly. This animation did no damage, nor was it clear what, if anything, was the source of the animation.

Boss loot did not appear to drop from the Lava Lord (or now that I think about it, Draetol). This may not be a bug, but given the previous pattern of final bosses always dropping a chest, this does seem unusual enough to note.

I think there's a problem with the decaying relics gained from lvl49 dungeon. As far as I can see, the only use for decaying relics is to buy fusion powder but, it costs 5 "decaying relics" to get 5 fp while only costing 1 "ascended relic" for 5 fp in lvl45 dungeons.

And the dungeon drops glimmering gems, ASV far easier with far better drops :angry:

Yes this update seems to be very underwhelming, usually the higher the level and harder it is, the better the rewards to acknowledge the difficulty, even ICC gives abs gems. But this time the rewards have gone backwards.

 

It's sad to say, but, in regards to drateol's lab run (not done other dungeon yet so can't comment on that). Once it has been done and players have the quest completed (unless they want the quest completeing on all alts) and the achievement, there seems little reason to repeat it or do it on any alts as there is nothing to be gained from it and it will cost more in repairs and buffs.

 

 

With regards to feedback on the storyline and quests and ending. It was a matter of go into the basement at lake ghast with a group, run from one room to the next killing bosses and thats it, congrats you have finished that side of the story, here's your achievement. There was no quests or story while in there and no time to consider anything created in the rooms for decor, appearance etc as there was another boss to kill. After waiting since 2016 it all seemed very anticlimactic :( .

I haven't done DL but i did the other one 'forgotten ruins' pretty much the same as other dungeons, DL is much harder but a waste of time for rewards as ASV/ARG give far better rewards as i said previously, still i guess we should still be thankful that HCS are still taking an interest in the game for us max level players ;)
