Basically what you're going to have to consider is how many you LE's you can let spawn within an acceptable timeframe (Yes the DQ's potentially last 24 hours, but there's no way you can expect someone to spend hours doing a daily quest) VS how many people might actually get the DQ + how many kills the DQ requires.

 

Honestly I think it'd be easier to just get hoof to add a condition to this quest so it can only run if a LE event is active. Save you a lot of trouble.

So you can't make them also spawn faster, while not being instant?

This alone would make them immune to AM right?

yes...but do they respawn fast enough..i knew they were there..but if it takes a few minutes to respawn..could make killing 600 of them kinda hard..

 

I posted and then went and looked, honestly I thought they'd have been more of them. Hadn't been to their realms since they switched them from a SE to an LE. Thought when they did that they might have made a few more of them spawn and made the instant.

 

Honestly I doubt this DQ is even possible outside of an event. Perhaps Hoof will be able to condition them to only appear in the pool of available quests when an event is active. Have them be conditional on a variable flicked on when an LE event is launched.

hmmmm..not quite sure how i am to do this one> chompers just went back into hiding..i know a few legends are always out..but do they respawn enough to do this dq..

I think raising the amount spawned + lowering the respawn time would be better.

Instant respawn is a much more tempting farming opportunity, especially with high AM potions.

Thank you very much wil72, I like your posts speaking the truth. We always need to remember the disgrace of a system called BLOOD, almost destroying pvp if not for Hoofmaster coming and stopping it.

 

Kind of uncalled for to call my old concept a 'disgrace'. I put an immense amount of thought into that concept.

It was also based around the idea that xp loss was going to be scrapped. (to be clear, the idea to scrap xp loss came before the 'Blood' concept was formed)

 

 

It's ridiculous this forum, it truly is. Leos is putting forward an idea for an implementation of a pvp global, to fit in with the rotation of the other global events. Some people though...  "We must have consequences!" (would kill the event) "We must have no opt-out!" (would kill the event) "I must have your first born child and all your base are belong to us!" (lol)

 

You must realise that an idea such as this would be the only viable way to 'do' a pvp global.

The simple fact of the matter is, there is a LOT more people that do not like pvp (the current attacker=win system that FS has anyway) than there is that do.

You seem to have a selective memory with regards to the blood thread...

People's posts were getting removed because they were inflammatory, flame baiting or just plain rude. There were lots of posts that remained that disagreed with the proposal.

It just so happens, apparently, that some people cannot behave in a civil manner when they discuss pvp, instead believing that bullying tactics are fine to be used in the forum as well as the game.

I understand the opposition to having the event be optional. I seriously can't imagine it will be much of a success, even with the enormously diminished numbers the game has now, there are still a majority of people who don't want to pvp.

 

Although it would certainly be funny to see only a couple hundred or so people 'opt-in' for a seasons event. lol

 

There are really only two ways that this won't cause the exact same issue as the initial smasher medal release however. It either has to be optional, or it has to be xp-loss/gear damage free.

What a pointless continuation of a discussion, it has gotten nowhere.

 

If a pvp global is created without either xp loss removed or being optional, it will crash and burn exactly the same as the initial implementation of the smasher medal. At the same time it will foster even more 'hate' between the leveller and pvp player-base and almost assuredly cause people to leave the game, again.

 

Not really sure why the people who campaigned for the train wreck that was the 'first' smasher medal are trying to make the same mistakes again.

 

PvP is simply not as popular/loved as some people want it to be, it will likely never be embraced in the way that they want it to be, simply trying to 'force' it down everyone's throat is just going to end badly for the entire game.

Unfortunately Mercenaries cannot be used to capture a relic.

 

I would be extremely happy if they were, but for balance reasons HCS decided they cannot be used.

Because it made it easier to code a diagonal movement against the wall. 

 

Stamina deduction values would have zero affect on the coders ability to properly have us move.

None of the quests are impossible.

 

They are if it asks you to kill x no of mounted creatures when you are nowhere near the level required.

 

These quests need to be conditioned to take into account what you can/can't currently do, and where you can/can't currently reach. I would have been monumentally aggravated if I had been given a DQ that would essentially require me to almost double my level.

 

Then again I get annoyed when I see a pvp DQ, I also get annoyed when adverts come on the telly every 5 minutes, the biscuit breaks when I dunk or when I can hear people outside...

I'm not suggesting we do this, but one option for 'overpowered' skills would be to give them a diminishing return. This would allow the potions levels etc. to remain unchanged and ensure that the higher levels are still more powerful, but not crazily powerful if you know what I mean? It would also open up to possibility of even higher level buffs of some skills where it would have made them too powerful previously.

 

This is purely an example, but something along the lines of this:

 

Sample Skill: +1 per point to attack up to skill level 250. After 250, +0.1 per point to attack.

 

Go with this initial idea Hoof, apply it to all stat affecting buffs, for all aspects of the game.

 

Job done, you hit the nail on the head with your first strike of the hammer.

They are - but for those of us that have devoted the time and effort TO get to Level 60 should get something in return - new buff potions, for instance.

 

Then, I'm fine with 'em being nuked across the board ..

 

Of course, new 'well balanced' composing only potions could be introduced to compensate.

Because players have worked hard to level up composing though, doesn't translate that overpowered stuff should remain. That is equal to saying, "Put enough effort in and it is okay to break the game." Which is a little silly, don't you think?

Is there specific buffs you feel are overpowered at high levels? Could you give me some examples?

 

Enchant Weapon, Keen Edge, Dark Curse, Coordinated Attack/Defense and Smashing Hammer are the primary offenders but the other stat modifiers suffer from the effects of the uber potions almost as bad.
