#762384 Titan Hunting Changes

Posted by Splash on 08 November 2012 - 01:30 in General Discussion

Funny enough, I just realized how Ironic the poll question actually is....

Because as of now any and all guilds can participate in any hunt if they choose, do they choose to or are they motivated to is another question. But if you look directly at the poll question the simple fact/answer is NO

mainly because the update stops guilds from participating in hunts, while currently anyone can

Needs to be reworded, but the general idea is:

'Do you think this update will give more guilds a better chance to successfully participate in Titan Hunting?'

Nothing will ever be 100% equal welcome to life bro, you just have to deal with it. and less then 2 seconds? and you got this number from where? And 80-90%? lets stop making up numbers please.

Well it is now. :)

80-90% - Take a look at the poll.

2 seconds - Seeing it?

Its fun to make profit no? its fun to titan hunt aswell. and like BG said team work will beat the big titan hunting guilds everyone has a chance to build a titan team and beat the big guys.

Anyone can move around, kill LE's and get drops during events. Then sell them for a profit.

Not everyone (lets say 80-90%) have the magic skillz to fly across the map in <2 seconds like some guilds.

Stuff+

Please take this into consideration as titan hunting is very fun and i believe this will make it more fair without taking the fun away from developed titan guilds. This will be fair for ALL guilds not just favoring the guilds that aren't great at titan hunting.

Here was my idea but no one seems to care much for it....i think its good and will make it so no one has downtime...and it makes it somewhat fair does it not?

Your definition of 'fun', in this context, is profit. The same guilds winning over and over isn't fun for 90% of the game. With this update, and the mentioned increased amount of new titans, I don't see how your guild, along with any other will be limited with titan hunting. Making profits from them yes, but not actually hunting them.

Words of Wisdom:

Without a titan team you wont win a titan...Stop complaining about the guilds that can secure titans and start building a titan team to actually have a chance. They work hard to build a titan team, why should guilds who don't do that have a chance? Everyone has a chance, its whether you choose to build a team or not.

Not really. Some can fly across the map in <2seconds, which compared to most isn't very practical competing against. Put 2-3 players with fast connections/close to the server together against a group of 10 experienced hunters that aren't against a titan and I would be surprised if the 10 players win.

The new map still does not provide an equal playing field, because there is no limit to how fast someone can move, apart from the server processing the movement.

Until that is fixed, then let the complaining continue.

I saw that. Unfortunately, it's a bit late in the day to be adding brand new mechanics to Titans at this time. Maybe by the next time they appear next year. In the meantime, any one that wants them ought to mobilize their Guild and hunt them as they are intended. The big guys can be defeated if you work together.

Well increase the spawn rate then. Manually spawn a few of them a day at different times or something.

make it so you can only get holiday TKP for one guild per event *shrugs* loophole found and closed lol

^This is an easy fix to that loophole.

-Titan spawns with unlimited HP for, lets say 5days.
-Once you attack the titan in a guild, your kills are locked to that guild for the remainder of the event.
-Each guild can only acquire 2-3 items. Maybe on the titan rewards page have the item with a counter, E.g 3/3, then each time you buy one it goes down 1 ... when it reaches 0 then it locks *or something like that.
-The epics are the same as other titans. So they are initially guild locked, but not bound. Because even with unlimited HP, they still wont be flooded into the game.

Limiting the big guns of a guild by limiting the total guild TKP rewarded means that the other people in that guild are left out because they might not yet have had the time to hunt it, while the whole purpose of your idea was to involve everyone. To get around this you can use a player set limit instead of a guild set limit.

The guild overall still gets the reward though. With 2 max per guild, then there is the option to sell 1 and keep 1, keep both, or sell both.

The purpose of the idea is to give other guilds a realistic chance of actually getting a drop.

There was a very similar thread awhile ago , cant find it now . Instead of forts it was castles and youd be able to build them an gain x . also could attack others and take them or something like that . The cows seemed interested then nothing became of it

But nothing stops the "big" players with lots of stam from constantly killing it for meny drops and still making it hard for these less experienced. Setting a guild limit to TKP isn't fair because small guilds get more rewarded per member for the same efford... but maybe a player limit?

This encourages more team effort and you get the system you were looking for with a correction to guild size included. Inexperienced people will be encouraged by the guild to participate.

That doesn't make sense. If the guild is smaller, it is going to take more of an effort to get the TKP, I.e each player has to get more kills, even w/out the 'big' players running around. Having a limit on the amount of TKP/Drops a guild can gain solves that issue of 'big' players with lots of stam constantly killing it.

ridiculous....what they should do for this halloween titan...is not have a end...just kill for tkp no drop wins. it doesnt die until time is up on it

Tbh this is/was the obvious thing to do for both this titan and the wickerman. Sadly obvious isn't obvious for the cows though.

#761110 New Item Idea + Gold sink

Posted by Splash on 02 November 2012 - 04:55 in General Discussion

I do see 1 slight problem with this, if you can upgrade anything up to your current lvl then the entire market for gear would crash as no one would be buying anything new anymore and the need for global and le events would cease to exist anymore. However if you limited the upgrades to say 100 or maybe 200 lvls above the items lvl for the upgrades that may be enough to make it worth using but not crash the market prices.

Just my thoughts!

Yea, that is why I mentioned the number of stat points gained with each level set not being too high. It doesn't have to be over powered to be desirable, the option of deciding where the stat points go is the desirable part. Also you wouldn't be able to change the stat points, so it's not like you will have that 1 item/set to use for every aspect of the game.

Most elite sets have been rendered useless by the over powered LE gear, so maybe work in between the two as to the formula for stats per upgrade.

I do understand your point though. It isn't a perfect idea, so appreciate any picking at the possible 'exploits' in it. :)

Posted by Splash on 02 November 2012 - 03:22 in General Discussion

WOOT just saw this thread and LOVE it lol. i am not sure about being able to place the points however we want tho i do like it just not sure how well it would go. Deff worth trying tho! however i would think that a set formula for the stats to "grow" as it was increased would be better. not sure if that makes sense to anyone but me tho lol

As long as the amount of stat points gained with each set of lvls is not too much, then I don't see a big problem with being able to have these sort of items. Also not being able to change the stats, I.e once you place them they stay like that.

as for a new item type, do you mean that when it is upgraded it stops being what it was (I.E. LE, SE, Rare ect) and becomes something else?

I should have made it more clear sorry. What I meant was that the cows introduce a new item type, not change any items atm. They would have to be bound and rarely gained, E.g maybe every 300lvls a difficult quest would reward one. They would all be lvl 1 though, so then we would have to upgrade them I.e gold per level.

This is just something I myself would sink a lot of gold into, so I bet many others would too.

#760876 New Item Idea + Gold sink

Posted by Splash on 01 November 2012 - 05:29 in General Discussion

OH!! and HOOF AND BG!! you would make my day if you added a way to upgrade the Spook Smasher set to our VLs!!

i am a big ghost busters fan and would love to be able to keep and use this!! :)

^Expanding on this, how about a new item type (common, unique, rare, LE etc) that can be 'enhanced' up to your VL with gold. E.g 15,000gp per level upgrade, and obviously you cannot upgrade it above your VL.

X amount of lvls would give X amount of stat points we can choose to place in w/eva slot we want I.e attack/armor/damage/defense/hp for that item. So for example for every 5 lvs = +1 stat point you can place on the item however you like. OBVIOUSLY no stam gain/xp gain/gold gain etc

It would be one hell of a gold sink if gone about the right way imo.

This idea has probably been brought up before, but I still think it is something to consider.
