I am not quite sure. I saw a post stating that the new Master realms for EOC go up to Lv 3176. I am unaware at what level EOC content is up to. There were two conversations today in global chat, amongst the same people about the number of quest in the game. Someone was real quick to say 968. He had been doing the math and counted up all the quest listed in the UFSG. However once he made that statement in Global chat. The other player came back with what it says on the homepage of the guide. I clicked on to the guide and there it was. Right on the page in the middle. It says. Quest in Game: 1003. This leaves 35 uncounted for. After having a couple conversations with them today. Trying to figure out what these quest might be. I believe, I may have done so. I realize that the quest in the guide only go up to Lv 3103. I believe that the missing Quest, are ones above that level that may not have been added yet. I don't know why, but this has really piqued my curiosity lol

Not sure if this is a FS Helper function but when you float over the quests bar, this is what I see:

 

Normal: 913/915 completed

Seasonals: 34/53

 

So whomever said 968, I tend to believe knows what they are talking about... I sure don't know what I'm talking about :-p

I've seen a few people this morning in global asking about such absurd things. I really don't understand why people would need the Chest to be easier to find than they are? Someone was in there saying they've only found their first five and that it was easy but in the last several months they haven't found any. I've only ever bought two, and it's taken me years before I got my Bronze. Can anyone say

I guess you haven't searched for chests recently. I always search when I get the walk tiles DQ and it is painful. Take a step. Wait for action list to refresh. Take another step, repeat. If there was no lag on the action list, sure, keep it the way it is. Otherwise why not have a buff that stops you when you walk across a chest? Will use the same amount of stam but waste considerable less time. :/

I think that'd be cool to add. Wouldn't push for it as a priority, but sounds "right" to me.

 

Personally, never got why those things were added to "character stats". 

 

There's tons of things now that could be added under the logic that got SE kills and Arena wins in there.

 

I'd kind of be for a "newer"  and separate section in the profile.

 

Then we could add what cucu said and Titan Kills, DQ completions... and tons of other things that I think could be more "arguable". 

I want wins/losses in pvp...

nice idea in theory ,but humans and there lust for money seems to get in the way

 

what you want to spend all extra money on anyway ?

spend? I hoard ;-p

 

But logically, the 2 extreme scenarios:

1. Gold is crazy abundant and a new player can collect a million with a 600 stam hunt... fsp market would sky rocket as people try to get rid of the gold but so is everyone else and their brother.

2. Gold becomes extremely restricted. All new content/mobs stop dropping gold at all. FSP market would plummet.

 

Not advocating for either but saying the logic I commented on is backwards imho.

1/2 page of gold for sale is becoming quite Common.

The disappointing aspect is that these days paranoid players raise the price of 1 fsp from the 'old days' listings of 75k to 180k base minimum within 5 mins and there it escalates to 220k+

Why do they do this? Because those with FSP have become greedy and will not buy gold unless they get 215k (approx) or more for each fsp, god forbid they can let those dots go for less than 200k :rolleyes:

Those who now clamour for gold, those at EOC not burning stam every month are the same people who demanded and championed that gold gain per creature kill be reduced.

Think! before you protest for major game changes in future, you only have yourselves to blame.

Should gold gain per creature kill be increased? Yes is the simple answer, if you wish to keep the economy flowing.

Isn't this backward? If there is an abundance of gold, wouldn't the price to fsp go higher? With less gold in game, doesn't it give the lower level players an upper hand as they hunt more often and can make a dot or two since gold would be so scarce o_O or am I failing Econ 101 here?

I agree with all of that and agree that the smashing that happens is a gold sink.

It can't and it won't.

 

So again... back at your post: "if there is an incentive to get higher lvl players to take bounties then why not? after all it would increase PvP activity !!!

 

It won't. You need to release that low level bounties already get cleared. Getting them cleared "faster" because it's "cheaper" is NOT increasing activity. 

 

There are plenty of reasons, unfortunately, to take bounties.

 

If I saw tons of low level bounties not being cleared, I'd lean towards your idea. Ever seen that? 

 

So exactly to respond to your first line:

 

Yes: gold sink. That's it. You're suggestion does NOT increase activity. It just makes it so "others" have fewer costs to do what "others" with lower costs can and already do.

 

And all that said, I totally agree. The very reason why the BB doesn't work is because there is zero "profit".

 

But my point is, and always will be, that it's because few think it's worthwhile to pay for it. 

 

Check back in 2018, hopefully.

 

My idea: Zero autobounty. Pay for damage. Get rid of the clear. Make FS Players that actually believe XP is worth something have the option to get their bang for their buck.

 

I see zero reason why a 3.2k player should be able to hit a level 500 or whatever for a cheaper price. 

 

What really needs to be fixed is making players think paying a price for a 3.2k player to do so will be worthwhile. 

I"m looking forward to the 2018 idea but I think you are on to something. As a merc, I have seen what folks are willing to pay first hand (and have profitted by it ;-p). From the small base of customers I have, if more were aware, they would also pay. Than there are those that forgo posting at all since they see no bang for their buck. Your idea would most definitely increase activity.

usually when something gets "cheaper" more players participate

best example I can give you is when Titan Doubler & Teleport were introduced !!! Titan Hunting then became "cheaper" (less stamina & time required for a secure) & it led to UNDOUBTLY more Titan Hunting activity & even brought in NEW players !!!

it was not like there were not any high level players to hunt these titans (before TD & Teleport) BUT because it became "cheaper" for them that they started to hunt EVEN after epics dropped a lot in value !!!

currently the Titan Hunting activity is higher than it was BEFORE TD & Teleport were introduced & back then epics were X times more expensive than they are today !!!

As mentioned, I disagree with almost everything but had to comment on the most egregious portion. Comparing titan hunting becoming "cheaper" resulting in increased activity?

No... CD was the #1 reason activity increased. #2 was Teleport and Titan Doubler but not because it made it cheaper (you have to buy the buffs, no?) but because it made it more tenable... you don't have to chase for several hours anymore. This gave folks with slow bandwidth a fighting chance. This gave those who don't have several consecutive hours of gaming time an opportunity to secure. Ying-Yang... Good and bad... became less of a guild activity and more individual but the main reason was the time saved. not the resources saved :/ Comparing this to making the BB cheaper? Apples and oranges.

Still having this error I lose stam for moving and killing creatures but once i refresh the DQ doesn't count the kils.

See the following images, pay attention to DQ and my stam.

I had this happen to me on a DQ. It was after chasing a seasonal Titan and I still had high level conserve running so I started whacking my DQ target. It almost seemed like every time conserve kicked in, the counter would go up but the kill didn't really register as my number got rolled back on refreshes. Needless to say I had to whack way more monsters. I had a trail of screen shots but it didn't save when I posted. :(

I have no problem walking around looking for SEs. I did some SE hunting the last few days. In a hour on my lil phone I found 12. A couple days before that just goofing around. I actually found my fifth chest and got my bronze. It took me a few years, but I got it. See, I am poor. I can't pay for Locs.
let me get this straight. It has nothing to do with trying to find chest to make Hunted Cow Items. I have no problem walking around. Sure I wish I had found these five, sooner. Still like it the way it is

You must not have walked around recently ;-p

Even before the recent lag, it was slow for me for the action bar to update. Lucky you that yours update so well. Regardless, I don't think it's a game breaker. You still use the same amount of stam. Just the real playing time you used is significantly reduced.

If they can improve Titan hunting with Titan doubler and teleport, I would hope a buff to make SE or chest finding a little less tedious would be great. Not as easy as the OP's original suggestion but still an improvement on that game play. Make it 2 separate buffs even. Not game breaking imho.

How about a new buff? That will auto stop you if you are walking across the map and you happen to step on a square with an SE or chest? Going one square at a time and waiting for the action tab to refresh is... not fun...

I'm impressed if you can take those "weaker people" on the BB. lol.

 

It was disastrous because  HCS reversed course soon after release. They were pretty adamant in the beginning to stay the course but I imagine the outcry was so huge that they had to change it. read the forum topic for it... it was flooded. I don't know how the idea got started but it was probably something that came from like minded folks thinking, you know what would be a great idea? a medal for smashing... yeah yeah! there would be very little outcry... it would be so great... lol. it was great indeed... but not for the community in general... just for those like minded folks who to this day cannot understand why HCS backtracked.

Kinda dumb that I can only make progress on this in the ladder and bounty board. I'd probably be about done with the stupid thing if it would count regular PvP hits. Instead, I'm encouraged to prey on weaker people on the BB, because that makes sense. That's the one place it SHOULDN'T count progress, if anything.

Yeah it makes so much sense... normal pvp against players who don't pvp vs players on bounty board or ladder who are willing to pvp... the ones on the BB and ladder are the weaklings? really? lol.

 

I presume, you weren't around when the smasher medal was introduced. It was a disaster. normal pvp hits did count... sure, it was great for pvp as there were pages and pages of bounties but it was an unqualified disaster. HCS reversed course after stating they wouldn't the first several hours after implementation.

 

I do love your statement though.. weaker people on the bb... lol...

Since, you centered on the "joining a guild or not" idea, I kind of figure you skipped the rest. 

 

So, ok, let's assume that joining a guild is the best thing that can possibly happen. 

 

Now read my post to see why I disagree with the OP's suggestion. This is not a post about whether joining a Guild is a good idea or not.

Which part?

 

I figured the bolded parts were your main theme?

And other areas for why I posted:

My frustration came from being unable to beat the snow leopard... I was handed a plate of emissaries and totally loved it.

 

So I strongly disagree with your bolded statement based on my personal experience.

I have to completely disagree with your post #12.

 

Guilds can be tremendously helpful for new players. It's respectable that some players want to play solo but I believe they are the exception than the rule. As you point out, the social aspect is one of the best features of FS and going solo doesn't really help getting more social, no?

 

My only evidence against you is my own play. I was touch and go in my early play in FS. I was having fun in the beginning collecting gear and leveling up until I met the snow leopard. Until a random person offered me to join his guild, I thought... meh... why not... I really started to kick butt after that but still learn things even today... without a guild, I probably would have quit like i have many other games that I have tried. I reach a point where I can't get any further... ask for help... get a little but not enough so I quit.
