holy "flow charts" batman...lukewarm about it...but really nice effort..by the time the dusts settles..big grims's head will be dizzy from all the suggestions..he asked for them , he is getting them...

just a question  to make something clear.  You do not have to clear a bounty... it is the number of hits correct?

I've suggested many times that scavenging gets changed - and even offered several solutions but, so far, all have fallen on deaf ears.

 

Maybe the only way scavenging will get changed is when everyone stops doing it ...

The resources for a  great many of the best pots are in there.  But they go cheap as no one has the BP space to keep all the drops to sell... I was selling for 10K gold.  i have max AH slots and still had to drop / compose most the drops.  They dont sell fast enough to keep up with the drop rate of the lower level creatures.

What about making every drop perfect? Would free up a buff to have reckoning work on find item more often.. If I'm not mistaken, other cave only drops are perfect?

LOL.. na we dont need every drop perfect.  really honestly you only need perfect items for arena but it is nice to get a couple perfect items to give out to mates.  The items are not worth the FSP to craft them so... they are what they are.

 

I guess had my drop rate been better i would have gotten a few perfect ones... I expected a higher drop rate with FI 1500

Drop rate was way too low.  A little over 100 million spent and 19 drops. 3 kifo sets and 2 extra weapons.  2 Vorik sets and 3 helms and 2 clubs extra.   Used FI 1500 pot and RF 200 with ZB and BM 300... used a four leaf pot and not one of the LE drops were perfect... also had reckoning 200 active. 

 

Only 6 EW 1500 pots, 6 Blazing cave pots and around 20 UB pots.

 

I farmed the caves to get sets and pots for mates and not profit but this cave event will be my last.

guess this is why they are not out...players massively hoarding them..flask of death - 3794 in bp's...that is some serious hoarding..time for somebody to start selling them, instead of hoarding them..

These numbers are not that high.  If I remember correctly the Watch your Back Brew had 7 to 8K in game after last event and i think the Flask of Death had 13K but memory if fuzzy on flask numbers

I don't really care how many others have of those in their backpacks. I got myself hundreds of them last time they were out, and now, I have only some left. All used myself, and not sold at a later time for profit. If there is many in the game because hoarders stock for selling later, thats not our problem. It's been awhile since they were out, I want them back so I can stock up enough until next time they come back again.

why change deflect?  We all deal with it... Leveler and Pvper alike if we attack each other... it is one of the best defensive buffs out there. Yes, it sucks when it kicks in so often.  I have had it kick in 5 times in a row on ladder hits on same player and 7 or 8 times (cannot remember which) while 100 staming a player on the BB so I understand how you feel. 

 

However,  I do not have to deal with it as much as you guys as I do not PvP that much.

I do not report that stuff.  We should be able to have what we want (within reason)  in our bio's...

Well, not all that were banned were cheats. They may have been colourful characters, added flavour to the game, gave HCS a hard time, fairly. Brought the forum to life, brought FS Box to life, asked searching questions, asked difficult questions. Made people laugh, made people cry. Lived on the edge. We all want to live on the edge, right? ;)

Not all that have been banned were cheats. HCS surely know who were and were not.

just a reminder of why this is occurring, taken from a Bio today.

 

"i have fun from taking away other's fun...you have no idea what kind of joy i get out of killing an enemy that is doing a quest, because if i were questing i would expect the same from an enemy... but on the other hand, i do take notes of who has spared me and if i have an oppurtunity to kill them i wont take it.."

As requested this is being moved from mary4ever's thread to this one.

 

There was a suggestion a while back in a thread not sure which one (there are 3 on this topic) to make 2 choices when attacking a player,

 

10 stam or 100 stam.

 

A 10 stam hit takes PvPxp/Prestige and can't have a bounty on it.

 

A 100 stam takes PvPxp/Gold/Prestige and can have a bounty placed on it.

 

I believe that when a bounty can be placed there should be xp loss.

 

I would also suggest that ALL bounty attacks be set at 100 stam (no more soft clears). No BB attacks can have a bounty placed. If you lose to your target you lose both xp and gold so the risk remains. XP loss has been removed from the BB I would like to see it reinstated if xp loss is removed from most of the game. Players NEED a way to delevel if they want to and finding a SE attacking naked as I joked about is the only way with BG's plan.

 

The above allows for gold theft yet still protects all non BB players from losing xp.

 

The above removes the opportunity for BB bashing. I think one of the things BG is talking about is a player returning an attack, getting placed on the BB and losing 5.

 

Example

So a PvP'er 100 stam's me he gets my gold and little or no PvPxp because I don't PvP. I post him and he loses both PvPxp and xp for that attack. As a leveler I have my vengeance and the PvP'er has my gold but not my xp which I do value.

 

So a PvP'er 100 stam's me he gets my gold and little or no PvPxp because I don't PvP. I return the attack with a 10 stam attack no bounty can be placed but I still gain both PvPxp/Prestige from the attack if I win. If he wins he gets 10 PvPxp just like any other attack. DEFLECT DOES NOT COUNT AS A WIN

 

So a PvP'er 100 stam's me he gets my gold and little or no PvPxp because I don't PvP. I return the attack with a 100 stam attack, that's down right stupid no PvP'er holds any real gold to steal.

 

Amounts subject to HCS decisions

 

PvPxp is 10 per attack no matter what the stam is off board if my PvPxp is equal or greater then and 0 PvPxp if mine is less then. I lose 5 from the attack if my PvPxp is greater or equal to the attackers. This will stop all farming for PvPxp

PvPxp is 20 per attack on the BB no matter what the PvPxp is. Target loses 5 PvPxp per attack until reduced to 0

Prestige is no longer awarded from the BB it can only be earned from 10/100 off board PvP attacks

I am a little tired so I maybe misunderstanding.

 

I was just rereading your post... in your example a PvP player would lose both PvPXP and XP?  But the player hit does not lose XP... I dont think this is fair to the PvPer. 

 

XP for XP, PvPXP for PvPXP.. and that thought process brings XP loss back into the picture

I hope we are not limiting all attacks to either 10 or 100.

 

I say that for this reason...  if rating difference between 2 fighting players (like the ladder) plays into the amount of PvP Rating (PvPXP, Blood points whatever it's called)  taken in an attack  lower stamina hits can get same result depending on rating of players. 

 

I would hate to have to use 100 stamina if less will do.

 

If difference does not matter then I don't care and 10 or 100 stamina hits are okay with me

That's an interesting situation we're in - how to resolve a problem with bullying in the game, where people haven't been attacked for months.

Really?  I understand a few of players were banned months back for "bullying."  So it must be occurring.

If potions are bound then there is not massive money making scheme so people have to join if they want them (Increasing pvp) however if somethings bound then levelers wont just 'Deal with it' but moan how they are forced into an aspect of the game. I think new armour using the bound token (The same) and also bound potions. 

 

But like i said levelers will moan. If the potions are worthless then nobody will play and if they are any good, levelers will complain. So but i do think potions should be added. Maybe the same as the arena potions.... maybe

We as levelers have alot of potions to pick from.  But you might be right, I only know a few players in FS anymore.

XP loss is not the problem, it's the game mechanics that allow XP loss to "bully" that is the problem. And yes you can say send in a ticket, do this, do that but at the end of the day the mechanics allow what could be termed "bullying". Aren't HCS hands tied because of this? How do you punish a player that is only doing what the game allows? Unfortunately it appears that some have abused these mechanics and now XP loss is deemed a problem by HCS. This was always going to happen folks. " To much of a good thing " an all that.

Good point, but my scenario is an example of an issue.  Less Players on Raw side and almost all of them friendly.  The soft side BB will have more consequences then the Raw BB.  

 

Am I misunderstanding something?

or it could be that:

  • "Harvey" just bounties him and the attacker loses XP with 10 x 10 stam clear
  • "Harvey" just bounties him and the attacker loses XP with 10 x 100 stam clear OR
  • "Harvey" just bounties him and the attacker loses XP full 5 levels OR
  • that his attacker does not bounty Harvey at all OR
  • OR ........

these are all assumptions !!!!

 

but back to your example:

in theUPGRADED SYSTEM

 

if "Harvey" is a leveler then the possibility of him hitting back is very low knowing that there is a possibility that he would end up on the BB himself !!!!

IF "Harvey" is under constant attack then he would join the soft PvP system !!!  it would not matter if his attacker is on the raw or soft side, for gold hits you get posted on the raw BB losing XP !!!!

there the attacker can not take his XP, only his gold BUT "Harvey" will keep posting him and he will be losing XP !!!

 

I consider myself a pvper who can hold my own against any player BUT if I was constantly hitting a player hourly on the "soft" side then in the long run it would do me much more damage than to my target + I risk a ban from HCS  !!!!

I would be losing stamina, fsps, buffs, xp, levels

my target would be losing fsp

my target would have the possibility of the mighty DEFLECT, chance of winning an attack, ....

 

one more thing: the saying that pvpers do not care about their xp / levels is not true !!! pvpers do care !!! difference between a pvper and a leveler is that a leveler cares for his xp / levels more than a pvper !!!

 

 

NOW let me ask you a question too:

system is NO XP LOSS(DOOMs system)

Harvey is leveling, gets attacked and MT kicks in, he loses all his gold, he wants to punish his attacker but posting will only result in the attacker losing pvp xp which the attacker does not value at all !!!

@BadPenny: how can Harvey get his attacker punished for losing all his gold that he got after his long hunt?

 

 

do you really not see how fair the UPGRADED SYSTEM even after the explaination? 

Question using BadPenny's example: 

 

If soft player lists Raw player the Raw players goes on Raw BB correct?

 

Who is going to clear this Raw player from the Raw BB... only Raw players correct?

 

So Raw Players sits on BB until bounty time runs out and no one hits him as most PvP players are friendly to each other.  Maybe someone clears him with conserve and 10 stam hits... what good was the bounty?

The tokens are bound to you... You get use them to purchase components (bound) to mix with other components (unbound), and invent things (unbound equipment) Seems simple, but you have to be a certain level for certain recipes, etc... and get this... on thing I can make (the recipe requires lvl 510)  But I need about 100 levels to wear it... So, I can make things for other people and sell them... (I made that armor I just mentioned once, only once)

Okay... now I got ya.  The tokens are bound, I cannot see how anyone could want it any other way

PvP is also a high cost venture... especially if you bounty hunt.  Stat increasing buffs like Coordinated ATT/DEF and Smashing hammer get expensive.  And it's not burn stam for an hour or so and quit till next time... It's buy some buffs, do a bounty here, wait a couple or ten hours, buy more buffs, do another 1 or 3.... and so on  We have plenty of inventable potions to buy and  sell already.  And potions aren't always cut and dried for just leveling use or PvP use.  Don't you use DC?  So do I.... EW, EA?  So do I.... Now these buffs already have some high powered potions... Think of the possibilities.... Besides... PvP prizes should be PvP oriented.  Leveling potions are well covered by current inventing and composing potions anyway... we need the stat builders and the like....  And they should be bound to prevent exploitation... Like the ladder prizes are now....    Sorry, I just can't stomach somebody else getting rich over something I earn.

when did ladder rewards become bound?

Sorry i meant pvp potions as in gloat and honor. I know other buffs as you have meantion, Dc, Smahing hammer, EW and EA are extremely usefull across the board . I just meant PVP orientated potions. 

 

I dont know what i mean TBH :unsure:  feel im contradicting myself above but its a touchy subject and i feel like i cant say anything without being burnt for my opinion. Personally id prefer potions being bound but i feel levelers will disagree.

I am a leveler.  Why should leveler complain, if the rewards from PvP are NOT bound PvPer can sell the rewards.  If they are bound then it will make levers join in to get them or deal with it. But I don't understand why you want them bound?
