I am a LEVELER I do a little SE hunting, inventing and harvesting but for the most part I level. I know what it feels like to wake up and be down 5 or 10 levels but I am still trying to help save xp loss for the game. I am not a PvP'er, I don't like to PvP but when required I will and do it to the best of my ability. I understand where BG is coming from as a founder I hear about it each time someone in the guild gets attacked and looses xp/gold. He gets it from the entire game. My point with this posting is to try and find a way for everyone that wants to protect their xp but still give a choice in the matter. As it stands now you get the reward and prestige from taking a bounty. With the proposed system we most likely will lose prestige we still get the reward but now in addition we get PvPxp. What do I want with PvPxp nothing but the PvP'ers want it so I will get attacked for what little I may have.

 

The question is how to protect players xp. There have been a number of ideas posted in this thread all of which in some way or another fell short of that goal. Even the potion idea above falls short mainly because it depends on the player using the potion. They have to do something instead of having it happen automatically. I would love to have my xp protected at all times but at what cost. For cost of 500 gold for 24 hours or 5000 gold for a week I would hop on the bandwagon without a second thought. For the cost of the loss of my ability to remove xp from someone when given just cause that I don't like. If we can find a way acceptable to HCS to accomplish what they want (xp protection) and still have xp loss in the game under very strict circumstances I think BG would be very open to that kind of idea.

 

XP loss is going away but what cost are we as a community willing to pay to have that happen.

I am trusting in Hoof, BG and crew to ensure that whatever replaces XP loss has the value to replace XP loss.  They have said it would... we will see.  Or not if XP loss is kept in game.

I just thought of a new positive for this system.

Currently when someone is posted it is all about losses and sacrificing your time and stamina to help with a de leveling party...

But with pvpxp it's not only about losing anymore...there is the potential to help your guild mate out and GAIN pvpxp while hitting and winning.

I think gaining PvPXP (or whatever it's called)  from attacking on the BB was also an idea in Mary4ever's thread.  Not sure as these threads have blended in my mind.  I think it is a good idea, I have never understood why  I lose XP when I lose an attack but I gain nothing when I win.

 

A percentage of players loss should go to the winner.

??? why is anyone posting on this thread anymore? this revamp was a total failure otherwise it would have been implemented. the majority hated it as well.

It's a lack of solidarity.  To take 5 levels, it takes several hitters at once... the PvP guilds have players readily available for this in guild, if not via allies, whereas non-PvP guilds do not.  I don't believe this is fair, but it's the way things have always been with FS.... with the new PvP changes, though, this will become a moot point, as the traditional taking of 5 for whatever perceived slight will become a permanent thing of the past...

We will have to wait and see what HCS puts out as their vision of a new PvP system.  No telling how it will turn out.  We am sure it will be fun.

 

Solidarity is important and the more organized team wins when it comes to fighting on the BB.

the removal of xp from pvp is insane and only bring trouble

 

many years ago I did pvp and got my bronze dominance medal and bronze bounty hunter medal, after more updates making pvp safer I changed to being a full time leveler and did some potion selling.

 

my last pvp action in the last 3 years was 3 x 10 stamina prestige hits (I returned prestige hits from levelers) and I have 0% progress on my bronze smasher medal (HCS can tell you about my 0% progress on my bronze smasher medal)

 

since 3 years I have been only a pure leveler, if I get hit for gold, I bounty and the attacker loses his xp (I read about PvP XP and some say make it as valueable as XP, if PvP XP gets as valueable as XP then why you need a new system (removing xp loss), very stupid)

 

if I decide to sell potions again then I can only do that where there is xp loss, which potion seller would be crazy to sell potions for gold when xp is removed? we potion sellers would sell for FSPs (safer for us when everyone can attack us and not lose xp when we bounty him, we potion makers would be one of the victims of this stupid system)

doubler 500 sells for 40k gold in our system now, when xp loss is removed doubler 500 will then sell for 1 FSP

victims will be low level and new players who will not be able to afford to buy our potions

 

if you want to pvp without xp loss then nobody is keeping you, you do not need a new system, you have GvG and Arena, you get rewards if you win and there is no xp loss

 

removal of xp might sound good for the first seconds but once the brain starts working it only shows that it is bad for different reasons

 

I did not read all 12 pages, skipped many but saw that it is really always the same 5-7 people pushing for the removal of xp, like I said, GvG and Arena gives you what you want

 

I as a leveler (for over 3 years) and part potion seller will not accept a system that is a disadvantage for me, potion sellers, low level and new players

Once again... no player pushed for no XP loss. BigGrim stated it in another thread.   If the Cows have changed their minds about xp loss then there is a good reason for that.  We are trying to explore ideas to assist HCS in structuring a new PvP system.  My Personal view... I dont see an issue with no XP loss

but because of this term "bully" which is used rather loosely within FS, it was decided to remove the xp loss

HCS stated no XP loss so that would be a question for them

so you are saying the no xp loss system has NO exploit/bullying?

I am saying that every system I can think of has been exploited in FS!  I cannot say this system will bully or be exploited as I stopped trying to keep up on... I have gotten all the PvP forum threads discombobulated in my mind.  I'm currently waiting for HCS to post what they are thinking about implementing.

No it does not.  That is why we are discussing all this.  I don't have the answer either, but if we get more players thinking about this and placing comment maybe we can come up with an answer.  Or at least some way to mitigate it

Posted this in another thread but I'll post it here too since we have some overlap in conversations. -- I keep seeing all these posts about free gold hits in the new system and how everyone will be doing it.  A decent gold hit is rare enough these days with people getting smarter all the time about hiding their gold.  Just how much gold do you think will be out there ready and waiting to be stolen if "everyone" is looking to steal it without repercussions?  Gold thieves weigh risk vs reward and go for the gold while most others opt for the safer side of play.  The penalties for stealing gold are what make most people NOT steal gold.  Without penalties the so-called free-for-all will dry up in about 30 seconds.  Nobody will carry anything more than it takes to buy something for gold or sell it on the marketplace one dot at a time.  Maurybund has already explained that merchants will stop selling items for gold simply because they won't want "everyone" to steal it from them.  Gold theft is an important part of the game but penalties for those thefts are just as important and should remain as part of the game.

So what would help this?  More deposit upgrades so merchants can make more deposits as they go?  

 

I remember in the past players would buy a bunch of potions from a player then 100 stam hit to steal gold back.  I also remember gold thieves watching high valued items listed for gold and hitting the player when the gold was transferred... Do we see this getting worse then it was back then?  Players still offered items for gold.

 

So what will ensure they are punished other then XP loss?

There should be some long-term goal in the PvP Arena. What do you think the price for an Epic should be? 

I dont know.... it should be high, but a player should not have to play the arena for a year to get one.  They can get one now from TKP in less time... and not spend gold to get it.  Remember not everyone donates and their gold is what they use to upgrade

I agree they dont have that big max stam yet, but to me that is what would make epics' stam gain even more appealing because they would reach max stam faster and level or PVP for example, a lot more. and if they are playing a lot more then their progress is more, they are busier in the game and then more likely to use more dots (bought or traded) and increase the level of activity in the game, sort of like a domino effect.

 

I definitely don't agree on making epics free of levels, just keep them equally spread over the levels, BUT make the stam gain benefits from the level 2200 epic the same as from a level 50 or whatever epic. Then stam gain no longer becomes an issue, it becomes more about what those epics' stats can then be used for, be it PVP, levelling, Arena etc. In my opinion, what makes an epic EPIC should be the stats, NOT the stam gain!

I agree...stats should be more important to the game then they are, but the new buffs made epic use mute for all but a few levels. It's all about 2 piece sets

JUST talking in terms of stamina gain from Epics, I don't see why Epics should only have such big +6 and +5 gains at higher levels only. If you think about it, having great stam gain on low and middle level epics too means more stamina which gets used for various aspects of the game, which has a knock on effect in terms of more players being able to access them, trade them and use them, in turn leading to more vigorous use of FSP's in the different game aspects, leading to more joy joy for players and perhaps more dot sales for the cows.

 

P.S. I think it was a mistake to increase the stam gain above 2 for any epics, and exacerbating it further by making the mid to higher level epics be the only ones you could get those gains from. All epics should be equal regarding stam gain, let it be fair for ALL levels in the game.

I can understand your point, but,  generally speaking, lower level players do not have the high max stamina of upper level players.  I don't care if lower level players have +8 stamina gain epics, it just seems more useful to those with higher max stamina.  And of course new titan is in 2200 level realm.  The only way to make stamina gain from epics available to all is to make epics free of levels where anyone can wear them. But know this... it would increase the cost of upper level epics and kill the older lower level epic's value.
