#846442 Finding the Gathering skills

Posted by Samppa on 05 February 2014 - 07:35 in Suggestions

Wouldn't those markers also ruin part of the adventure for some people, like I do like to find the best spots. You'll learn their positions quite quickly while gathering.

I mean, its not like everything should be handled that easily to you. :)

But, I suggested in my thread earlier that placing your personal waypoints would be nice, that could be further implemented into using custom marks that you can personally place in to the map, similar to World of Warcraft map notes (in some addons at least). That way you could mark everything you think is important and want to keep their location in mind.

#846162 Confirmation for inventory 'sort' button

Posted by Samppa on 04 February 2014 - 07:22 in Suggestions

I've done this accidental miss clicking few times as well, gladly its not that big of deal, but yeah you've got to rearrange things after that. Perhaps some small tweak could change this.

#846020 Higher Levels

Posted by Samppa on 03 February 2014 - 15:37 in Suggestions

A lot could be learned from World of Warcraft, they have quite good boss fights and they require tactics and cooperation from group. World of Warcraft uses boss phasing. Example of simple template:

Berserker King

Basic Abilities:

Cleave

Melee and others must care for their position, else they will get struck down by cleave.

Berserkering Shout

Increases damage dealt for himself and his allies by ??. Can take precaution by keeping him away from his allies.

Berserker Form

During Berserker Form he would change to ranged mode and reset threat. Meaning that you would have to stop dps for a moment to let the tank get aggro again. Resumes to normal form after 15 seconds.

Permanent Berserker Form

During Berserker Form he would change to ranged mode and reset threat. Meaning that you would have to stop dps for a moment to let the tank get aggro again. He would become more vulnerable to damage, but his adds would also become stronger.

Phase - 1

Until 80% Health then Phase - 2

Cleave
Berserker Shout

Phase - 2

Until 30% Health then Phase - 3

Cleave
Berserker Shout

Berserker Form

Phase - 3

Until Death

Permanent Berserker Form

Cleave
Berserker Shout

All phases

Allies would be coming to aid their master periodically that would require either kiting or off-tanking.

Everytime Berserker's ally dies, he gains Enrage that stacks infinitely, but expires after 6 seconds. Allies must be killed or they will wipe out your group. If too many Enrage stacks are placed at once, the tank will die to too much physical damage.

Hahah, I guess I have too much time because I'm writing these. But, couldn't this kind of simple stuff be alright? I mean this template has many things to be vary about.

#845949 Stacking with a decent idea

Posted by Samppa on 03 February 2014 - 10:15 in Suggestions

are you f2p lover even reading the suggestions? this suggestion would support your f2p model more than the actual does ...

because you have a bank with 10x slots like a full bank with sacks. Dont need any EP for this, just for the Upgrade, like you do right now if you want to have backpacks (except the small ones for high amount of gold)...

So basically you would profit right now with the suggestion a lot even as f2p player

If you read my earlier comments you would understand my point of view better. I simply don't like the current balance between F2P and P2W. I have bought things from Shop, so that does make me buyer to some degree. I'm fine with your suggestion until you mention that you would need EP for the upgrade.

Using gold more would be much better, as I would personally like to see EP be non-tradeable currency. Gold should be above EP, not the otherway around, because that benefits buyers more.

Upgrading bank slot system in any possible way, but not ending up benefitting buyers is my favorite option. There is plenty of stuff for buyers already. Buyers need to be brought down closer to non-buyer atm.

#845940 Vanity Items - 1 Slot items!

Posted by Samppa on 03 February 2014 - 09:06 in Suggestions

Or perhaps once you wear them, they would no longer be "material". You could select them by side clicking your vanity xxxx slot and select your vanity model. Meaning that they would not be physically available anymore.

Though this would not solve the fact if you were collecting these vanity items just to sell them to others. ;P

#845937 Stacking with a decent idea

Posted by Samppa on 03 February 2014 - 08:56 in Suggestions

What i want to add to this idea - What about removing the Backpack Slots in the Bank and instead make it x10 and as you said - upgradeable ...

So the Bank-Upgrades would basically be the EP you pay in BP, but in Bank upgrades.

Hell with EP and Shop buyer support. F2P demands some love. Use gold if this goes through. :P

#845756 Various Suggestions

Posted by Samppa on 02 February 2014 - 09:07 in Suggestions

I like the crafting itens it could also be a set, farmer scythe, farmers hat farmer gloves and so on, and you would get +1 farming, this would be "NUTS".

I agree as well that stacks could be increased by 5 at least cause i have 15 sacks and it ain't enough....

I don't believe this is a p2w game, i aqcuired supporter cause i want to see this game grow, and they need $ to grow.

Regards

Glad you like the item idea. :)

I supported too because I like the game. But, there is P2W elements, there is no way around that fact. :) For example: There is no MMORPG where buying currency wouldn't mean P2W.

If anyone wonders what P2W, please google about it. Because, it is here and P2W isn't just buying gear from the shop.

Yeap, hopefully people will raise the voices as it is very important in this section of forum.

#845745 Stacking with a decent idea

Posted by Samppa on 02 February 2014 - 07:29 in Suggestions

From a personal standpoint, I am mostly indifferent to this idea, as my preference as a player is to store as few non-essential items as possible and give away and/or sell all excess clutter.

However, I could see this idea being a useful alternative to the age-old MMO tradition of using mule characters to store items. It's far more convenient to have all your items in one place, and I don't see a problem with having this stacking feature available.

The one thing that would concern me is the amount of extra coding work required to implement a multi-stacking feature into the game. I'm by no means an expert, but I know that coding extra storage features in previous, similar MMO games was often complicated by the game's programming limitations. If this ended up being a very difficult suggestion to implement, it may not necessarily be worth the convenience of its implementation.

That said, it's a nice idea!

I bet they could use a lot of coding that is behind sack for example. Don't know if it would be such a big addition. :) Leaving sack model out, making every slot in bank to be treated as "invisible" sacks. ;P

Back to the topic:

Those who voted no: You are kicking on your own balls, unless you are buyer and want to keep your "power". Here is what I recommend you to try out: Make new character, do not buy anything from shop, pick up every crafting (as I would) and laugh miserably because you gotta sell your materials away once in a while to make space for another crafting profession or do meaningless trips to spend few of them that is in your bag or bank.(WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!)

Holding onto few quest items, items that you can't wear yet or plan to sell/give away, profession tools, scrolls, pots, food, drinks, crafting materials and other misc items. You can't hold anything in reserve, you've gotta kill your inventory otherwise it gets full! I'd be full right now if it weren't for my 15 sacks and 2 bags that I possess OR I would be doing highly inefficient gaming that would not be satisfying. I'm just 12 level and started around 5 to 6 days ago, what about later, hah?

I'd reconsider this suggestion, those values in examples aren't ultimate, they are just bases that can be modified to any direction.

#845667 Stacking with a decent idea

Posted by Samppa on 01 February 2014 - 20:52 in Suggestions

Again, this benefit has little effect on other players (assuming you're talking about the extra multiplier for EP purchase).

This game is fully free2play meaning that the cash shop will always give bonuses to those who pay, this suggestions really changes nothing in the game other than making players much more free to gather and collect different items rather than being limited to such small space (for both paying and free players).

Allot of us who unboxed say 25+ packs have run out of space, most of us have given out tons of items due to lack of space.

This would increase their sales in packs above everything else, and if they execute packs right (with more updates) they will be the main source of EP purchases.

Since they have chosen "Shop Mall" business model, of course. But, I personally find games more appealing if they manage to restrict P2W elements to their best of ability. I find P2W very greedy and taking it the easy way system. Take DotA2 for example, a moba, that runs alone with visual enchantments, that is truly commendable!

Path of Exile is yet another good example of using Shop Mall, you might know it. The only "advantage" you get in that game is: Bigger Warehouse(bank). Other then that it runs on visual enchantments..

In case you misundestood, I'm all in for this change, except the shop. :)

Yes and I also suggested that Potions be bigger stacks 50-100 per stack..

Yeah, thats also good. Keep bringing this kind of stuff up. They have to listen us someday. ;P

#845643 Stacking with a decent idea

Posted by Samppa on 01 February 2014 - 19:12 in Suggestions

I wouldn't go into adding more and more benefits to those who pay. If I had to think more additions to Item Shop, they would be something visual and handy small things, most major ones exist and some of them should be removed/changed. The main goal should be to avoid putting too much power at Shop users while also achieving required money to the company.

MMORPG's where buyers hold the power, are mostly enjoyed by  other ...buyers.

I'm in favor of changing stack system to be more benefittable to non-buyers. 100x multiplier is a bit too much though? Perhaps considering the whole bank as sack would be better and reasonable, meaning that every slot in bank would be 10x.

#845622 Various Suggestions

Posted by Samppa on 01 February 2014 - 18:02 in Suggestions

A lot of stuff could be made into bigger stacks.. Some things should would be nice if it could go in Sack..... But none of it is Game breaking...

Are you talking about rare crafting material that doesn't go in sack? Yeah, that should be changed.

#845621 Various Suggestions

Posted by Samppa on 01 February 2014 - 18:01 in Suggestions

It's not pay to win, it's pay to advance. Investing money in the game in no way will not get you the best gear or make you the best player.

/OT

I do like the suggestion regarding items with profession stats, it's been suggested quite allot but I do support it. However the stats you've put are are way over the top, the difference they make should not be noticeable, only to those who grind out hours with minimal exp waste where the extra help the item will give will be a slight boost for them.

As for stacking, I've suggested it before and I'll say it again, but we really need items to be able to stack into huge amounts in the bank.

Of course the values should be adjusted in profession items, I just threw some in there to give example. :)

Well, "pay to advance". I'd like to think it as P2W. Regardless of what it is, it still needs some change ;P

Yeah, stacking needs some tuning.

#845604 Various Suggestions

Posted by Samppa on 01 February 2014 - 17:22 in Suggestions

why not start by naming a thread after your suggestion? imagine if everybody would name their threads "some stuff by *nickname*". this is not facebook!

btw your sugestions WOULD make the game easy. its already easy. imagine players who got lvl 40 ws,as,lw etc before update 1.03, now everybody else can get there at half of the original time, how should old players feel? ok its one update but if these things continue its not tolerable. and its very sad to see that some players still want to have it easier than others.

Oh.. Thread naming is ticking you off, lol..

I did not mention in my suggestion anything that would change leveling your character, except leveling crafting SLIGHTLY. Eventually you will come to realize when servers/realm get populated that it is not the same as now. Currently we can monopolize best spots, but that ain't the case in future. Besides, even with monopolizing best spots, it is not THAT easy to get any crafting skill to 40 as regular player.

As we go further in time, P2W stuff will become more dominant unless we don't wish change for that (hoping they would listen of course). Most of my changes try to change that fact, can't you see? There are even more things that I would hope, but I will write about them more later on.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE difficulty. But, it must be done well and fair. Current system is clearly P2W and that is sad.

#845589 Various Suggestions

maybe you should create a "game by samppa" ? i would post a suggestion to your game. insta lvl 99 for every skil. think you could do that?

Bad joke. Did you wake on wrong foot today? My representation wasn't pleasing to your eye?

Anyhow, your attention isn't where it should be, thats for sure.

I am not expecting any instant results nor am I expecting every single thing what I suggested to happen. Its possible that they won't be even implemented, but if they are taken in consideration in someway, it'd be nice in my opinion.

If you thought that my suggestions would make the game easy. You did not read at all.

You got my troll award.

#845584 Various Suggestions

Posted by Samppa on 01 February 2014 - 13:59 in Suggestions

Hello! :)

I have started playing Eldevin about 4-5 days ago and I must say that this is easily one of the best mmorpg I have played. Crafting is what makes it big winner for me, current crafting system reminds me of two games that had also good crafing systems; Ashen Empires and Runescape. I love it when Crafting ain't THAT easy to max. I must give credits to Eldevin Dev Team for making many steps to Crafting as well as making beatiful animations. I'm totally into the game when I craft. :P

Eldevin resembles a lot like Runescape and while some may not notice, it also resembles a lot World of Warcraft.

Anyhow, I have taken notice of few things that might need change in near future and I'd like to point those things out and also suggest few things that I have thought about.

Crafting

Special Profession Items

These items would be decently rare world drops, no level requirement and they would serve as easement towards crafting. Also they would stir up the Economy, because they would be very wanted items.

 Examples:

"Prospector's Mitts"

Stat options

+5 Prospecting skill when equipped
5-10% Chance to create additional bar when smelting
5-10% Chance to double the amount when smelting

"Miner's Helmet"

Stat options: (This item could apply to Crystal Cutting as well)

Prospecting Speed & Crystal Cutting speed increased by 50%
3% Increased Chance to find rare Ore
5-10% Chance when mining to double the ore amount mined
5-10% Chance to mine 1 additional Ore

"Lumberjack Axe"

Stat options:

+5 Forestry skill when equipped
5-10% Chance to get 1 additional Log
3% Increased Chance to find rare Lumber

"Farmer's Scythe"

Stat options:

+5 Farming skill when equipped
5-10% Chance to get 5 additional crops
Pruning speed increased by 25%

"Farmer's Hat"

Stat options:

+5 Farming skill when equipped
5-10% Chance to get 5 additional crops
Pruning speed increased by 25%

"Jeweler's Lense"

Stat options:

+3 Jewelry skill when equipped
5-10% Chance to get +15 more experience when crafting jewelry

"Blacksmith's Hammer"

Stat options:

+3 Weaponsmithing & Armorsmithing when equipped
5-10% Chance to get +15 additional experience when blacksmithing

"Forager's Hat"

Stat options:

+5 Foraging when equipped
5-10% Chance to find additional item when foraging

"Fishing Gloves"

Stat options:

+5 Fishing when equipped
5-10% Chance to catch 1 additional fish when fishing

"Skinner's Dream" (knife)

Stat options:

+5 Skinning when equipped
5-10% Chance to get 1 additional skin when skinning
3% More chance to find rare skin
Skinning 25% faster when equipped

"Alchemist Stone" (Charm or holdable red stone)

Stat options:

+3 Alchemy when equipped
5-10% Chance to get 1 additional potion when mixing potions

"Enhanced Scissors"

Stat options:

+3 Tailoring when equipped
5-10% Chance to get +15 additional experience when tailoring

"Chef's Spatula"

Stat options:

+3 Cooking when equipped
5-10% Chance to get +15 additional experience when cooking

"Leather Artisan's Gloves"

Stat options:

+3 Leatherworking when equipped
5-10% Chance to get +15 additional experience when doing leatherwork

Stacking

Currently many items stack to 5 or 10, some to 25 and so forth. In crafting it is a nightmare! Obviously I can see the reason: Get players buy bags and sacks. I'm already out of this problem, but I had to buy EP points worth of 20$. (I would have anyway..). I felt this was extortion at first, but I gave some slack because the game is still quite new.

If you are veteran player, you probably would know to gather some resources at early game and then selling them to higher level players. You would probably get your 1st sack in your first day of playing by this way. (Purchasing from players)

How about losening it up a little? I bet some will just runaway because the stacking system is very cruel to new players. My suggestion is to:

- Add sack or two to early quests (Ones that are bound)

- Make those 5 slot buckets in shop available for some gold, no one will buy them if they have EP points. Sacks are way more efficient

Price of Crafted Items

I heard you made crafting less expensive in recent patch. Was it enough? I am not sure about that yet. But, my concern in this case is towards the items that you produce. They are worth less than crap.

We won't end up being rich bitches even if you raise them to be nearly as worthy as regular items of their level (when sold to vendor I mean). This demands change. :P Not in any mmorpg that I have played is crafted items worth less than loot when sold to vendor. There is no sense, unless this is to promote gold buying again.

New Feature to Foraging

How about making those trees that are normally used by Forestry also lootable by Foraging, except Foraging wouldn't "empty" them. You would get seed and that seed could be used to plant tree (like the way you do with Campfire) and then you could use Forestry to cut it down.

Another idea:

Instead of my first idea, you could also make trees that are already cut down to be able "grow" them back if you have certain Alchemy Elixir or seed that can be looted from those trees only.

Shop

Shop is probably going to change in near future I believe. I hope that within those changes there would be removal of gold selling. I realize that buying gold from shop is quite expensive and may limit or decrease gold buying from 3rd party.

But, gold buying also serves as limiter to population. Many don't care about details, as long as there is gold selling, its not good. I don't see no reason why Eldivin wouldn't manage their upkeep without gold selling, except if that is their only plan. Membership, bags, exclusive vanity items and fashion items could very well be more than enough. I mean sacks are the hottest thing in there, yet they are cheapest.

Of course you have other nice stuff in your shop as well, I bought Remote Vault recently and I am happy with it. So remove the gold.

Skills

Pricing

Yes. The pricing is overboard for regular players after 14lvl skill. I don't know if the intention here was to force players use shop to buy gold again? Or farm until they end up in hospital bed? Both options sound bad.

To make them more appealing to majority, you must cut off at least 50% of the current price. I know they are not impossible amounts of gold even now, but still very disturbing amounts. Its like dropping bomb to your house suddenly.

New features

Custom Waypoint

I'd love if it was possible to make custom waypoints, I mean select area in map and arrow would lead you there just like in quest. Perfect for showing stuff to your friend or allowing you to move forward without checking map every now and then.

Perhaps there could be two types of custom waypoints: Group Waypoint and Personal Waypoint.

Customizeable Chats

I bet this is known "issue" or already suggested / under work. But, I would be nice if we could edit our chats  to our liking and expand them more freely. Ex. I'd like to hear whispers even though I am looking at group chat.

Thats about it for now. :P A lot may have been discussed already, I didn't take my sweet time to look around too much. I apologize if this was the case.

I may come back again to suggest something or update this thread if necessary.  Also, if anyone who reads this feels like contributing in someway, please do so, all opinions are welcome.

Hopefully you found something to think about. :)
