I'll try starting a Smorgasbord again over here. So that you can see each step in the making with enough time to either inquire from the artist how they got the effect or to try stuff out yourself until you get something similar.

Group 1:
A: 6/10. I like the colors but it took me quite some time to adjust to all the green and then look for the "apparent" focus. Too much Gaussian blur and well for me it isn't exactly horrifying if I am confused about what I am looking at.
B: 7/10. Average is all I can say. It's too messy and the text for horror is horrible. Although I do like the theme and the photomanip. Just a more clean version would subtle effects would have been nice.
Group 2:
A: 7/10.. ehhh... Pink and yellow? Great flow Great render but It all looks so cheery to me that I can't imagine this being horror :\ Bubbles and ribbons and pink... Nice try using Vectors.
B: 5/10. Too plain. Not what I would expect in the second round of GGT. A lightning background a red gradient a Santa image and a doge brush! Tada!
Group 3:
A: 9/10 Ooh yeah! Now we are talking! This seems like a well made piece with quite a lot of effort into it. Good theme overall and nice effect. Just dislike the Inner Demons text.
B: 8/10 The image is disturbing ill give you that but I don't see much work to it. Even subtle changes like changing the name on the book to GGT would have made the piece more original. Step up the game it's round 2 already!
Group 4:
A: 9/10 The depth... I am drowning in the Depth... Marvelous Depth. The colors are lovely too. Subtle but still eye catching. Not giving it a 10 just because...
B: 9/10 Because this piece deserves a 9 too! I am so in love with this piece that i'll disregard the fact that this isn't what horror looks like. At ALL. I'll give it a 9 because I am disappointed with the other works of art here and I want to see this artist up ahead.

Hey SgtHalo! Thanks for keeping patience! We appreciate it!
Due to Roan (the organizer) being inactive for some time now we are unable to track all the artists. Thus, I have sent you the amount of your bid back
[Please look under the name Eclairs]
I have also sent Roan an additional sum for the amount you bid. I shall be claiming the piece for myself. Thanks for your co-operation!

Please remember the critique is to help your improve not to demoralize you.
GROUP 1 :
A : 7/10 - I think someone followed a tutorial here. I like how well they followed it but somehow the final outcome is really messy and I don't believe it represents the theme really well. Love the attempt at making the flow and the top right light source, an extra point just for that.
B: 4/10 - well.. Nice try to represent the elements but just placing a wave with a darken setting does not work at all :\ The text too is not appealing, however again I am adding an extra point only for using the rule of the thirds even if unintentional. Try following more tutorials and more blending options
PLEASE ALWAYS KEEP A FOCAL POINT.
Group 2:
A: 8/10 - The piece in itself has a serene feeling but severely lacks contrast, and the light source is too messed up for me. Fire is supposed to have LIGHT! Try using atleast a dodge brush? The bottom right corner seems pretty messy too. Can't figure out what that's supposed to be. Apart from that it's all good.
B: 7/10 - Left half of the avatar? 9/10. Right half? Say what? o_o What happened to the depth? You placed the burning book layer over the render and didn't blur it. The fire in the bottom right corner seems out of place. It could have been an amazing piece but you break my heart ![]()
Group 3:
A: 9/10 - Ooohhh!! Hello love! Love the lights
1 mark deducted for the two small sparkles in the bottom left corner and near the text. Apart from that ooohhhhh!! Hello love :*
B: 7/10 - Again! Great potential! Love the 4 elements representation and it seems really smooth too. What put me off was the fact that the render does not merge with the background at ALL. It's too superficial. Maybe try some blur some smudge or some additional layers... or maybe even 4 merging backgrounds behind the 4 elements.
Group 4:
A: 8/10 - This was supposed to be a 10/10! The text just doesn't do it for me.. Maybe attempt to put the text on fire? and again.. the depth.. the blurring of the fire below the text and sharpened lines above the text ? Otherwise the light source is amazing and so is the focal effect created by the blur ![]()
B: 7/10 - Simply because I have seen that render. I like the fire text but the GGT8 texts seems out of place and could have been skipped. It has a very nice overall feeling but considering the render there isn't just enough to it.
Group 5:
A: 7/10 - I am so sorry, this is purely personal preference. I just can't stand stick out art that has cut off edges. If you make a render stick out I believe it should appear to melt into the background and not be cut off after a point. Also the light effect really makes the back of her skirt look weeeeird.
B: 7/10 - I was so confused I thought I might die. But again It does have an overall feel to it but few things mess it up for me. One is the contrast and the other is the lines (c4d) on the top left. Also the Elements text is so strong that it draws focus away from the render. Potentially an 8/10 if only the c4d wasn't there.
Group 6:
A: 6/10 - Again I apologize profusely for being harsh. But what? The whole piece is too blurred and what remains is the text :\ That too in the middleish. What's supposed to be the focus here? The text? There is no flow either. or Infact there are 3 flows. Just don't feel it ![]()
B: 6/10 - Overrrrrr Sharpened. Infact the right half is so sharpened that I couldn't distinguish what it was. Either make them melt or make them clash. The two parts clash in the middle then melt at the bottom. There isn't a focus. I believe the clash should have been it. maybe blur the renders instead? OR maybe where the fire and water meet there could be smoke and the renders could be the focal.
Again, All of this is for constructive purposes. Don't give up on your art, art is a subject matter of personal preferences.
