#879853 Idea that might enhance global quests

Posted by pKone on 19 July 2014 - 12:55 in General Discussion

You both have a good point about the Frag market and hw this might not benefit those who actually compose.

And unfortunately my argument to support one, is at the cost of the other :D

I would say to the people who do compose that while they still only get 3 chests the availability of MORE frag chests from guild mates ... but this would still result in the frag market taking a serious hit :P

From what you have said I would add the following:

1) This can apply to all global quests, not just frag ones

2) The amount of kills needed to get to these tiers is flexible... I trust the cows to determine what would be fair

I will admit this idea has more rough edges than a Redneck in Paris.  An idea in motion more than anything else :)

#879598 Idea that might enhance global quests

Posted by pKone on 18 July 2014 - 15:59 in General Discussion

This idea is for the purpose of enhancing participation in Global Quests, while further rewarding those who participate more (top 100 types) without, I think, over-rewarding anyone.

The answer isn't more chests or better chests its: unbinding chests.

For example this is the reward output for the last global quest:

Bronze: 1 x Global Bronze Frag Stash (1,500 kills)
Silver: 1 x Global Silver Frag Stash (2,000 kills)
Gold: 1 x Global Gold Frag Stash (2,500 kills)
Crystal: 2 x Global Crystal Frag Stash (3,000 kills)

Ruby: 3 x Global Ruby Frag Stash (3,500 kills)

I stopped at 3,500 in part because my stam is low and mostly because I do not need the frags and would be just as happy giving them to members of my guild that do.

But here is what I propose to encourage participation and reward people who go the extra mile and might not get in the Top 10 or even top 100

Dominator Tier: 2 x Global Ruby Frag Stash, 1 x Unbound Global Ruby Frag Stash (25,000 kills)

Executioner Tier: 1 x Global Ruby Frag Stash, 2 x Unbound Global Ruby Frag Stash (50,000 kills)

Epic Hero Tier: 3 x Unbound Global Ruby Frag Stash (100,000 kills)

Now, these can be modified to be "Guild Bound" rather than Unbound and the kills can vary accordingly or you could make the tier 1 x bound, 1 x guild bound and 1 x unbound etc...

But adding these high tiers will increase individual effort and reward for those who think they can make the top 100, but fall short with ... say 30,000 kills.

Can be applied to all Global Quests

Feel free to comment and/or berate me at this point :)

#846051 Balanced Attack/Defense

Posted by pKone on 03 February 2014 - 20:03 in General Discussion

The way I read the buff "+0.05% per point added to Attack and Damage if every piece of equipped gear is the same level" applies to more than just 9-piece sets.

For example if your Gear is:

Level 400- Ammit Hide Shield and Dagger of Ammit (Complete Set)

Level 400- Guantlets of Misfortune and Armour of Misfortune (Complete Set)

Level 400- Maximus Boots of Glory and Maximus Helm of Honor (Incomplete Set)

Level 400- Argus Eye Amulet and Argus Eye Rune (Incomplete Set)

Level 400-  Xmas Scream Ring (Random Common Ring)

Then you would benefit from the Specifics of the buff :)

I chose that level and that gear at random... not due to any awesome synergy.

If I have understood the nature of the buff correctly, then there is still potential to work this buff well :)

#846032 Skill that transfers Stamina

Posted by pKone on 03 February 2014 - 17:38 in General Discussion

I am going to throw out an idea that is likely to be terrible, but I think with the proper minds exploring it, it could be acceptable :)

The Idea: A Skill that Buffs a player with Current Stamina.

General Concept:  This is a high level skill (1900? 2000?).  The concept is that this skill has a Stamina cost of say 200 stamina and the target gets buffed with 100 current stam (general example).  Those numbers can vary and may even be dependent on the points in the skill.  This is mostly a skill for players who have reached EoC and are stuck just building stam waiting for new content to hunt in or a new event etc...

Potential for Abuse:  So, we can all see the potential for this kind of buff to be abused.  Multiple accounts can't really benefit from it, since it involves having at least one of your accounts up to level 1900, which is hard to do and represents a tremendous risk. To prevent a massive stamina transfer I propose the following...

This is a Cooldown Buff.  The target of the buff gets an actual buff which serves as a cooldown.

So if Player A buffs Player B with this skill then Player B has a "buff" for the next XX hours.  This buff cannot be cancelled, dismissed or broken.  It cannot be replaced by a higher version of the buff either. Which means Player A can buff as many people as they want but player B cannot go to Player C and get another. Nor can they get multiple buffs from Player A.  Perhaps as you put more skill points into the Skill the Buff Duration decreases ;)

Anyways,

As I said, the details of Stamina cost, stamina transfer, cool-down etc... and what is balanced will take a better mind than mine.

I just felt this strange compulsion to throw an idea out there :)

#805212 New Skills / Enhancements

Posted by pKone on 08 August 2013 - 18:33 in General Discussion

There are already 780 replies to this thread, so this suggestion may be lost. Or it may already have been suggested and buried, so I apologize if this is a repeat.

New Skill: Savvy Prospector (name is totally negotiable! ;) )

Level: Unknown, the Cows are better for this sort of thing

Effect: In general the point of this buff is to give a %chance of a %amount of gold from a successful PvM attack to go straight to their bank.  For example 0.05% per point chance that 0.1% of gold from a successful attack (after guild tax) goes straight to the players bank. So, at lvl 175, that is 8.75% chance per kill that 17.5% of the gold won (after guild tax) goes to his bank rather than on his person.

I think this can be a balanced skill.  The Cows will know how to spread the percentages per point so that it isn't OP and it opens the door to some major potion buffs!  Also this in NO WAY INCREASES THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF GOLD IN THE GAME :)   Sorry, that was all caps, because no one wants to flood the gold market any more ;)  It is a security buff for those who want to stock gold.

I don't think this will hurt PvP theft, especially when I suggest the following:

New Skill: Crafty Cutpurse!

Level: Same as above

Effect:  You guessed it!  the same kind of buff as above, but for gold stolen in PvP!  X% chance of X% gold stolen goes straight into your bank ;)  So that's security for PvM and security for PvP.  And if done properly, not OP for either :)

Hope these ideas don't suck!

Cheers,

pK
