#794870 Should we limit creatures you can attack based on Actual Level?

Posted by xanlore on 09 June 2013 - 16:43 in General Discussion

If we're going to add this fuunction, then we need to reduce every Top 50 Guild's Guild XP earned in the past year by 25-50%. To have left top guilds like FFS/WAL (yeah I'm gunna call it out, though kudos to you guys for spotting it, lol) and the like to have abused this with impunity and deny that capcity to everyone else whom is NOT...

a) EOC with too much time on their hands

b Buddies with other EOC players who will de-level them

c) In a top 25-50 Guild and thus did not abuse this loophole with impunity

d) Already disparingly behind the guilds with EOC players whom abused said loophole

e) Working hard to rise the top guilds ranks of their own accord and NOT abusing this loophole

to be denied that capacity to do so as well, some of whom were somehow not aware if it (I don't know how anyone wouldn't be that pays  attention)

But seriously... to bar this AFTER it was abused and ZERO aid to lower guilds whom di NOT, when most think it utterly impossible to reach the top, and everyone (except crazy me) thinks impossible without EOC players... is total nonsense.

***POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS***

Having more 2x events (once every 3-4 weeks) whilst enacting this concept of not being allowed on higher maps above a certain level is the only viable altrnative. Too many don't even contemplate ever reaching EOC these days... I think this is an opporotunity to call for making EOC more reachable to stifle the taboo of calling FS P2W... composing aside...

Boosting base max stamina could also be a viable solution for fixing this along with possibly putting caps on other such upgrades not capped... Yes I am suggesting a cap on Max stamina that reimburses the amount invested in FSP... I cant see how having liquidity on hand is a bad thing. I'd gladly still donate to get the items/buffs etc I need anyhow. FS is the only MMO I've played in recent times that uses stamina based paly anyhow. Having people sit on stamina waiting for an event is a concept that encourages lack of activity anyhow. Add a cap and people won't be wasting stamina AWOL for FS, and later quitting due to boredom. MAybe we consider putting LE creatures back in the maps to ecourage more regualr activity and stamina usage like it used to be...

Other ideas I have mulling in my head include things unrelated to guild XP, but as far as that goes, I think the only real way to make things more competitive is to boost the base max stamina/upgrades, along with giving more xp for lower level creatures as an additional tweak. Most MMOs out there give significant boosts to XP for starting areas. I also think FIXING the 1000-1200 gap's XP payout along with Boosting the XP for creatures from levels 1-250 or so as a viable concept. As we streamline content of the maps for lower level areas, I think boosting xp bonuses to be a viable suggestion, REGARDLESS of what happens with this topic...

Anyhow, some will think I'm lashing out at certain players, but rather as I noted, kudos to them for finding it... But by giving some players at (near)EOC the FULL benefits of using this loophole to essentially makke it a herculean task for active guilds like my own to ever catch up (We will strive to do it anyhow) whist the rest of us see no net benefit... is a true sham and a slap to the rest of us whom did not, nor are not in a guild which did so.

You spent a lot of time thinking this out haven't you. There are many things in which you have said that I completely disagree on.

First of all, the top few guilds did not get there by deleveling and releveling. I was in WAL way before we were even near the top. In fact, we worked very hard as a team to take number 2 over the years. When I joined WAL, we were in the top 250 guilds - I think we were ranked about 100 at the time. However, we did not reach number 2 from deleveling and releveling. It was teamwork and years of dedication that got us up near EOC and then a few of us have deleveled to gain more GXP in recent months. However, this isn't anything that any other person or guild can do.

Secondly, I have worked very hard in getting max stam up to where it is. Many people such as myself do not have the capability to sit on the game all the time to burn stamina. I have to have the stamina I have at a minimum to be able to not max out throughout the month. In fact, I need more stamina than I have now in order to not max out. Some of us have jobs that require us to be gone for a while. In fact, some months I am no where near a computer for long periods of time due to work. Yes, I am in the United States military and get deployed. Would it be fair that I can't take advantage of all the stamina that I had over the course of time I was deployed? It was my stamina and I upgraded to make sure I captured it all. Besides my job I am working on my masters degree so even when I am home - I am busy.

This forum is not even an issue. Why doesn't everyone quit focusing on something that doesn't even matter and worry about making the game better? This is stupid and obviously many people want to keep things the way they are. There are only a select few that want to create an issue out of this and cause some sort of drama. The Cows need to focus on getting more content and quit worrying about such a silly suggestion that gives no one an unfair advantage. If EOC continues to be a problem and people can't do what they want with their stamina then people are going to leave the game from boredom.
