#858519 Economic Stimulus Program

Posted by Samppa on 29 March 2014 - 06:30 in Suggestions

Its called inflation, we dont have enough gold sink so thats why prices on Ep(real money) going up. Adding thing like this doesnt help. It will be just annoying for people who doesnt like to gather resources and can make botter more active. So this idea imo is rly bad. All what we need to make economy alive and stop inflation are new players, or more gold sink options like house system, mounts etc. But that was suggested hundreds times. People u need to understand that HCS is small team we can't have all in same time, be more patient. Cheers :)

*Cough* *Cough* P2W. Just add sacks available for gold and set EP unavailable for trade. Thats all it takes to make this game more appealing and the economy to be more "healthy" and "fair".

#851076 New Game Content!

Posted by Samppa on 22 February 2014 - 09:30 in Suggestions

This isn't even suggestion, its complainment.

I am 100% sure they are aware about the lack of content. Definately working on it, that I am also 100% sure. I am also 100% sure that you don't have a clue about game developing.

No need to make "whiny" or "wnb grand" topic like this to leave. You just leave quietly and thats it.

Though, I feel like there is one thing that boosts this "problem" you describe. Which is the P2W factor of the game, you "pay to progress" as people here want to think it is. Then you end up being bored quickly while also messing up the Economy like those botters.

Well what do you expect tbh, every f2p mmorpg needs some way of income as it would be complete loss to the developers/owners if it weren't powered by the players, the costs itself for running such game aren't low.

Yeah yeah, keep that up, thats what they want.

Do not restrain your brains too much thinking there might be other options.

Homestone cooldown can be shortened with 25EP - it's on the cooldown's page in the Eldevin Market.

Since it's a money for convenience thing, one of the way HCS makes money on this game (the other is money for vanity), I doubt it will be changed.

Personally, I am used to strategizing Homestone (*cough* Hearthstone *cough*) use, so an hour's cooldown is no big deal to me.

No need to defend it, everyone else except Eldevin's playerbase know that it is P2W. ;)

#847497 Sugestion: Pvp (probably unpopular)

Posted by Samppa on 09 February 2014 - 08:00 in Suggestions

PvP Servers could be using different character database, which means that you would have to create totally new character in there that isn't useable in any PvE servers. Of course, some of you may find this disagreeable, but it is probably required for this to function properly.

Ex. Smart person would do all PvE stuff in PvE server and just come to PvP in PvP Server, because there wouldn't be no sense leveling, gathering, crafting and questing stuff in PvP Server.

PvP servers could be adjustable to fit the mentality that comes with FFA PvP like:

* Safe Areas, such could be Othello, Major Cities, Inside Dungeons,  and even early Mine in Othello.

* Guards would always protect the one being attacked

* The one getting PKed would result with some lesser loss, such as few inventory items dropping(not equipped items) and/or some 1-5% exp loss.

* If you are PKer and your status as PKer is high or if you deem that attacking is enough for him to suffer for it, then he should be dropping at least 1 equipped item, few stuff from inventory and 5-10% exp loss too.

* PKer status would be on you for 2-5 Minutes

* In PvP Servers your character would remain in the World for 5 to 10 Seconds after closing browser or trying to logout forcibly, it would even warn you when logging out/skipping countdown to 5-10.

* Getting killed while being in PKer status would make you end up in jail and only after your PKer status is gone, you can leave that place.

There is some that could work as whole.

#847301 Sugestion: Pvp (probably unpopular)

Posted by Samppa on 08 February 2014 - 07:22 in Suggestions

This idea is great, but it would require some brainstorming to fit into Eldevin and so that it wouldn't upset anyone insanely, and it should probably be optional in someway.

In certain game they had this system:

If you killed 3 Players, you ended up with 30 PK Points and your name would turn red. If you died while having red name, you had chance to lose equipped item.

So basically 1 kill = 10 PK Points.

If you killed 10 Players, you ended up with 100 PK Points and your name would turn black. Even guards would attack you at this point and you would definately drop an equipped item, also you would be put into jail until your name would be at least red.

These PK Points decayed overtime like every 5-10 Minute per point or so, and player who was innocent, but got killed by pker, dropped stuff from his inventory(not equipped) and lost exp.

Perhaps it could adjustable so that only 1 server would work this way or optional area or something like that :) And ain't saying that this is the system that should be used, but its fine for reference.

Yeah, I care about stats and results. Economic, competition, fair play. I'm all numbers and hardly care for visual equipments and emotes, stuff like that.

#846877 Changes to Favor F2P Players

Posted by Samppa on 06 February 2014 - 15:59 in Suggestions

Not true, a f2p player can obtain everything from the Loyalty Section, as you get 5 points / day (10 if subscriber) ... so this game is the perfect Example if it comes to f2p concept. There is NOTHING in the shop that you can not obtain by playing the game yourself.

Sorry but to people like you i always say the same thing "Learn what f2p and p2w is, the real definition of the 2 terms"

F2P = A game that can be enjoyed, without paying for the game. F2P Concept contains microtransactions, that give you time or convenience Bonus ingame, but nothing, that cant be obtained over time.

P2W = A game where you can pay real money, for items / things / whatever - that cant be obtained otherwise and give you a huge bonus over people that doesnt spend money into the game. For example in Eldevin it would be ... a Bound Potion that gives +10% Melee/Sorc/Ranged/Vit/Energy Attributes for xx Min. Or Shop Gear, that is better than obtainable Gear ingame

Eldevin is really the GOD of how F2P Concepts where ment to be in the first place, nothing except time you can buy in the shop. There are people that are better geared / have the stronger character / have higher Craft or Gathering Skills that didnt pay a single $ for this game - and thats what makes a F2P Concept shine over other f2p(p2w) systems - like for example 4story ... where you can (have to) buy stuff from the shop to get the best Items ingame if you are not the most lucky bastard in the universe with a chance of 10 ^ -100 to obtain the best Item ingame without destroying it on the upgrade Process.

PS: STRUYK PLZ JUST GT::::: OUT OF THIS GAME _ JUST DELETE YOUR CHARACTERS _ WHY DO YOU EVEN BOTHER TO PLAY THIS GAME WITH HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS _ WHEN YOU HATE THE GAME SO MUCH? ...

@Devs + Admins cmon it cant be that hard to find out that this guy is struyk with a new account - just ban people playing over proxy and only allow real ips

Who is struyk? Was he smart enough to suggest something like this, but got driven away by this silly community?

So if person buys 20k EPs and exchanges 10k of that to gold and keeps 10k EP. He could very well use these currencies to buy himself loot(even bound loot from dungeons), gear, crafting materials or ANYTHING that exists in the Game, there is no limit to that. Of course, he would have to level normally, but that is easy / meaningless compared to losing meaning of content.

Shylark, please read the whole topic next time and try to understand what is written there.. Its frustrating to deal with you, because it leads nowhere and builds nothing constructive. (I have bought from shop for around 20$ (sacks and bag), its written there). Ain't going to reply to your stuff anymore.

I'm getting tired of this community. There are so many thickheaded people that do not wish for fair gameplay.

@TheLegend

Same to you, you did not read everything and kept repeating same things that was already said. And I'm sorry for preaching that much, but you are doing the same now. ;P I was kind of angry because I wasn't getting through this thickwall that is unfortunately present in here.

So, you grinded 1K Gold for days and the dude next to you got that same amount or 5x more within 5 minutes. Yeah, thats fine, because they support the game.. lol.

If these changes were to go through, of course it would raise objection from P2W players, who would want to lose their ez mode..?

Anyways, I have now decided to let the votes do the job. You guys have been blinded by something, nowhere else would this considered anything but P2W, unless you can't understand the meaning of this word. :o

Like I keep saying, I am fully aware that free player can achieve currently anything what buyer can, except membership.

Also if you are so desperate to defend the EP Selling system that you would even refer to something like: "Somewhere the money's gotta come, I am just helping HCS".

Seriously?! Are you thinking about helping HCS when you sell those EPs to get "advantages". I hardly doubt, it is just your lazy ass who decided to buy those EPs and sell them, that you could fly through obstacles that others have work harder on. <-- already P2W, you pay to win through what other work harder for. If you think buying combat items/exp is only P2W, then you are mistaken, because you could use the currency to do exactly the same result now.

Please read earlier posts before posting, its really ignorant just to read first post and post then.

-- Lets imagine a possible scenario, in current state of the game

Note: This isn't what happens in every case, but its possible as the game allows this to happen if wanted so. Numbers are somewhat "estimated" to be optimal, with no slacking between.

Time Spent: 0 hours

FreePlayer - Starts playing the game, questing, trying things
BuyerPlayer - Starts playing the game, questing, trying things

Time Spent: 4 hours

FreePlayer - Faces several obstacles, like lack of space in inventory, lack of gold and decides to do something about it
BuyerPlayer - Faces same problems, but decides to buy EP and/or/also subscribe to membership

Time Spent: 8 Hours

FreePlayer - Tries to mine, but soon realizes that he has to mine tons of ore just to get 1 sack and what pain is getting those ores with no sack.

BuyerPlayer - Buys about 10 sacks, exp potions, sells 1K EP to 1K Gold and keeps rolling the game

Time Spent: 15-20 Hours

FreePlayer - After pondering with the problem for a while, trying different solutions to get gold and asking help, finally gets his first sack and is at level 10 - 15
BuyerPlayer - Already proceeding at level 20-30 and no trouble with gold, space or anything

Time Spent: 30-40 Hours

FreePlayer - Starts questing again but faces skill cost that troubles him a bit at lvl 25. 100g. But, goes to mine for few hours to get the skill.
BuyerPlayer - Proceeding at 25-35, nearing the max lvl of this game. Keeps selling EP, buying crafting materials and stuff he needs. Everything is on the silver platter for him.

Time Spent: 50 - 60 Hours

FreePlayer - Keeps leveling up and has to go to town more often to bring stuff in his bank, especially if he is crafter. With 1 or 2 sacks it ain't so easy at first! Though it might already be so that his bank is full and he needs stop leveling and starts using them, though there isn't much to use. This guy is probably around 25-30lvl or less.
BuyerPlayer - Because this guy has been allowed to focus on his leveling only and has exp potions + membership, he may already be at 40lvl and concentrating to buy crafting materials to boost his crafting to 40lvl. Buys his 40lvl skill easily, 500 gold, no problem

Time Spent: 70 - 80 Hours

FreePlayer - Keeps leveling up and things are starting to get much easier, we might even own some EPs and few sacks at this point. He is around 30-35lvl.
BuyerPlayer - Has been enjoying his 40 level character for a while, fooling around with some vanity items, boasting on global chat and buying crafting materials + exchanging ep to gold and doing dungeons!

Time Spent: 90 - 100 Hours

FreePlayer - Might be leveling, but also might have gotten into his first 40lvl dungeons. Has also wasted his all gold to buy 40lvl skill. Totally broke now.
BuyerPlayer - Still enjoying his 40 level character, and has gotten few set items and there is hardly much "important" to do anymore, end-gaming wise. Keeps boosting his crafting to 40lvl with the power of $$.

The gap between FreePlayer and BuyerPlayer will remain unless either side slacks. Though BuyerPlayer can afford to slack much more. In future once there is more content and population, the power to buy things will become more distinct, because of few reasons:

* Things will be harder to get due to higher difficulty/levels (ex. 50lvl Cap) = More things where FreePlayer will be behind BuyerPlayer
* Hunting/Farming/Crafting spots are crowded and first and most to suffer is: FreePlayer

* Value of gold might drop, leading to problem where you would have to farm/hunt even more to close the economical cap between FreePlayer and BuyerPlayer.

* EP will become more dominant currency than it is now and guess who has the most?

Of course, these are my assumptions. But, in reality they could happen, and even now the gap is there so why don't make it smaller? I just don't understand why would anyone not want that.

You can't call yourself free player if you have subscription, it comes with monthly EP, and increases monthly if you are long-term member.

If someone says there is no P2W and means it, then I am god itself, geez. You've got to stop using silly phrases and words to hide it. Its like you guys think that you have your own definition here that doesn't exist, but it does. It is P2W, you stubborns.

Once Eldevin grows up, the amount of F2P players will raise to be greater than those who are not, leading to dropping of gold value and increment of EP value. Also, spawn/farm spots will be crowded and the pepole who will suffer most are: F2P players. But, that may be alright with you guys, so don't worry.

Anyways, I have said everything I wanted. Things just keep repeating now. I will keep my eye on this topic though, since I'm not satisfied yet.

#846577 Changes to Favor F2P Players

Posted by Samppa on 05 February 2014 - 17:11 in Suggestions

Just because you disagree with our opinions doesnt mean that they are not valid counterpoints, that is flawed logic...

To elaborate on my definition of pay to win, other titles within HCS games allow you to purchase xp gain per our so you essentials pay to get free xp, this is a p2w purchase. They also have a purchasable +0.1% xp towards next level sp you can pump unlimited money if you so wish to gain levels though this is expensive... This is also a p2w feature.

Paying for convenience is nothing more than that in my opinion, if I want to buy more sacks so I can gather more in bulk once off rather than running back and forth on multiple treks, it is not paying to win in my opinion, it is paying for the convenience of 1 trek. I understand that some people feel that this convenience allows me to win by your view of the situation, but that is just a difference of opinion over the definition.

I find myself against small group of people who have been with this game for a while, and probably most of them are members who are subscibed or has been, or has bought something from shop. That is why I am seemingly the underdog here, no doubt. However, I will not be the last to talk about this, especially when the game starts to grow. I am very new player here compared to those who has replied/voted to this topic (checked).

Anyways, as comparison I find exp buying less bad  (if not for crafting), though I wouldn't want that to be part of the game either. Leveling to 40 doesn't seem like much challenge anyways, but this I won't say for certain, though I have played games with much more difficulty in leveling(not talking about crafting).

"Paying for convenience" seems to be common phrase here which I find just convenient coverage for uglier truth.

That paying makes everything possible though, think about it! What you can get for your EP points? Anything.

#846566 Changes to Favor F2P Players

Posted by Samppa on 05 February 2014 - 16:02 in Suggestions

Peoples definitions of pay to win vary from person to person. Personnally I view everything in the shop as convenience rather than neccessity therefore not qualifying as pay to win. But others will disagree as is evident from the forums of late which is fine too, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.

The only idea I think might be interesting is converting gem removal to gold, the rest I whole heartedly disagree with and would hate to see introduced.

Yep, this has been argued many times yeah. Its true, but if we think "pay to win" as words and what they mean, it clearly fits in. As you can pay for currency that allows you to win: Economically, crafting, loot(future), items, gold or whatever. I don't think this needs any more describing.

The definition of pay to win is never agreed upon and is a constant argument in game.  I have no huge issues with the current system.  If you enjoy playing the game and like the community, as I do, I see no problem becoming a supporter under the current system.

I was considering membership and still am, but that is different from what this topic is all about. Same as above, if you pay and get advantage, that is undoubtedly P2W. Ain't against membership or most things that are in shop. I try to view them more neutrally, as I am not that extremist, thank god. Otherwise I would be demanding full change of shop, haha.

You know human is funny being, it can get used to things, especially if he doesn't know of better. ;P I like the game a lot, but that does not prevent me from suggesting things that could improve it. ^^

about the buckets, these things are a farming tool only, all they do is hold water, crop dust or compost. might want to read what they do before posting they need to be changed to buying with gold  :)

LOL. Good point mate :) How silly item. Since this is the case, then my next proposition is to add 5x item similar to sack. Lol

OT:

So far I haven't heard that many proper reasons from those who voted no. Please send proper answers, I don't want to think that you all are after imbalanced gaming.

#846542 Changes to Favor F2P Players

Posted by Samppa on 05 February 2014 - 14:41 in Suggestions

I voted no to the poll. I really don't see this game as P2W as compared to many games that I've played in the past. Sure, Player A sells EP for gold to Player B to make a quick amount of gold, but as you've noted, Player B then has gold to buy materials, which comes from players who are willing to put the time and effort into farming those materials (ie could be free players to start making gold).

I think the bigger item that should be focused on here is the amount of gold in the system causing inflation rates from a 3-4EP to 1 gold ratio to a 1EP to 1 gold ratio.

I do agree with point 5, but only in certain gems. I think the higher the tier of gem, the more it should cost. Once you hit a certain tier, then it should be EP only (which can be bought from other players through buying/selling of crafting items or NPC items as you level).

I agree that Eldevin isn't the worst example in P2W, by far. But, it exists and its a pity. :/

Buying player ends up getting the most advantage in that scenario, regardless how we try to alter the perspective. :P The time spent by buying player is much less than what free player has to do for same result. Everything is possible if you have time, but the situation I have described is still the same.

These changes would still keep the power balance between buyer and free player favorable to buying one, so I don't see any reason why not to change it more appealing to those who will probably become the majority of players: F2P.

#846538 Changes to Favor F2P Players

There are so many ways to make Eldevin Points for free in this game. I think we are actually lucky that EP are tradeable! it gives free to play players a chance to own everything a paying player can own (except loyalty). :P

Still the problem would remain. So, for the sake of vanity crap/fancydancy/lessimportant stuff that does not affect the game at all, we should allow this? :)

#846531 Changes to Favor F2P Players

I grinded gold for a week and converted that into thousands of EP via trade with others, what is stopping you doing that?

Like I said before, you are paying for convenience when you use real $ to buy gold, booster etc. nothing more, nothing less.

Ain't talking for myself here, I'm mostly fine atm. I did not deny that it wasn't possible, but its not fair situation, that is clear and it could be easily adjusted, so why not? What there is to be afraid of?

#846526 Changes to Favor F2P Players

Posted by Samppa on 05 February 2014 - 14:08 in Suggestions

A big no :)

You like buying yourself to win? Care to say why?

I support this. Having two currencies and one of them being premium means that the premium currency is going to be worth a lot of gold to people to don't want to spend real-life money on the game. It should be bound in my opinion, but then there are more problems; people will buy vanity items from the store and sell them in-game which is effectively not eradicating the problem. The only way gold:EP is going to be fair is if the price of EP in-game is reduced. That also brings up the problem that it's primarily a player-run economy. Features like the mall or player-run stalls might lesser the prices a bit. I know it can be a big problem, but overall I think that if you don't buy EP from the store, you're not at a massive disadvantage if you're not lazy. Any player can go collect materials or farm flakes and sell them. There's some people I know that have never bought the premium currency and they've got thousands of EP. It's just a time advantage to be honest, and if you're tolerant and have the time then you can make as much money as anybody else.

My opinion is that EP shouldn't be tradable. Not because I don't want it to be, but because it'd make no difference. People will buy things worth EP in the store and sell them to players for gold, effectively making as much money as they would selling solid EP.

Yup. The problem wouldn't completely be gone with these changes, but it would benefit F2P players a lot in general. The closer those two get (F2P and Buyers), the better game becomes, that is indisputable truth in every game. :) Only self-centered egoists can enjoy imbalance.

The only thing a free to play player can not obtain, is the items in the loyalty section.

Everything else can be obtained by free to play players, they just need to work for their rewards!  :D

From my point of view this game is already fully free to play. All you pay real $ for really is convenience and shiny stuff that does not affect game play  :)

Erhm. Are you floating in a sky on something? :) Seeing happy cows? :P I guess its easy from your perspective, but perhaps you should try F2P perspective and from standard player view. Ain't so dumb to think that I wouldn't achieve what buyers do, but they have considerable advantage and that is exactly what people call: P2W.

Player B: Can just hit few numbers to the screen and receive 2k EPs and change them to roughly over 2k Gold. Then buy stacks of profession items or whatever he wants.

Player F: Has to farm days or weeks or months for same result, depending on his activity and current status in the game.

NOOOOOO

You like buying yourself to win? Care to say why?

the only point I like is five, and I'm f2p  :P

Mind telling why? Why are you so willingly to kick yourself to knee?

#846502 Changes to Favor F2P Players

Posted by Samppa on 05 February 2014 - 13:19 in Suggestions

Hello again! :)

As many of you might have noticed my signature I would like to make an official topic about it. Share what is behind the signature and so on.

Before you start reading my arguments/points, I must say that I believe any of the following changes would not make HCS bankrupt or lose money considerably. Its just your sweet thinking that you keep blabbering to yourself to feel better about paying yourself to win. Of course, I'll listen if you got valid point to make other than your self-profit.

1. Make Eldevin Points bound to the Buyer

Yes, EP points are totally tradeable and you can get fortune with them. The most efficient way to use these points is to buy sacks or sell them for gold. Of course, there is few other "okay" features to buy in shop, but nothing that good as those two.

Basically, EP points are much more valuable currency then gold, yet they are completely fine with selling EP points to gold. You can't win in terms of gold a player who buys EP.

The one with most currency can get anything, even loot if he wants to. In games like World of Warcraft its quite normal to buy yourself "bound" loot by buying yourself into raid that you wouldn't normally clear yourself or be even enough geared. Just an example in case someone dares to say otherwise.

2. Basket

Edit basket to be able to hold 5x resouces instead of 3x and make it cost 10-20g.

3. Removal of Gold Selling in Shop

Buying gold from shop currently is something that no sane person would do. Its not worth it. EP points sell for more gold when sold to players. But, problem is not that in this case, but the fact there is: GOLD SELLING.

I don't know if the idea was to limit gold buying from 3rd party (bot sellers) or what, but it does not have positive impact on the game if people realize that there is gold selling available. Its a matter of principle for many and the gold selling acts as limiter to population. The most wanted stuff from shop are most likely sacks, bags, vanity items/emotes, pots and few useful abilities(non-combat wise) + membership. <-- These are okay.

Removing gold is justice!

4. More reasonable skill prices

Many skills are heavily priced as in gold value, which I think is not "right". The scaling could be a bit more gentler towards players who don't pay themselves to victory. They should be worth some, but maybe dropping it by 25-50% would not hurt at all. In near future with the introduction of mounts for example, will "probably" trigger the need for gold just fine + there is other sources to spend gold on.

5. Unembed Gems for Gold

I recently discovered that removing gems need EP? What!? Well, if my EP bound suggestion goes through then this must change so that it would require gold instead. Of course, if not, still I would like it to cost gold instead.

General & Last words

I would like to see HCS moving into direction which favors F2P players more. Not every idea is good when it comes to making profit especially if you end up sacrificing too many things for it. There is a fine line which you should not cross, though we all view it differently. :) My line is not extremely strict, but it does not tolerate currency selling in a way its happening here.

Basically, if my suggestions went through, the buying population could change from selling EP points to selling Sacks, bags, potions etc.. In return for gold. This would result in major inflation of those items, leading to the state where F2P would benefit a lot, because buying them would be cheaper and selling them less benefittable. Even this would be much more pleasing then how it is now.

Finally, if you agree to my suggestions or at least to some of them, please use this signature and vote in this topic!
