#887235 Darksun Reborn!

Posted by Taneras on 24 August 2014 - 16:32 in General Discussion

Now low/new or whatever players say AL 500 isn't helpful for them

Considering there's only 3 pots that can give you more, 2 of which are only marginally better, I'd write that off as them not knowing what they're talking about and not an actual reflection of whether or not these pots are a problem.  Most new/low players, outside of these darksun pots that are about to be given out, likely haven't ever received a higher AL.  The highest AL I've obtained so far is 207 (180 AL pot from loyalty + 15% distil) which required 6-7 fsp + loyalty points.

The point is these uber pots are making the game ridiculous. The habitual frequency only dilutes the skill required to play, which will eventually turn OFF players not attract them. It's bad form and lazy. I hate singing the same tune here but nothing substitutes for actual resources put into the game.

I'd argue that this game doesn't take much skill to play, more just knowledge of the game.  It's not like you're giving brand new players max level characters with maxed out gear and all these skills that they have no idea what they're doing and now they're raiding with you, standing in stuff they shouldn't be, not doing any damage or healing, and just ruining your overall experience.  There isn't much of a learning curve to this game.

And there's a reason why a lot of these larger MMO's who have been around for a long while are turning to this sort of thing (letting you skip a certain amount of content, or allowing you to blow through it much quicker).

I'm a new player, and its certainly not turning me off to the game.  I don't think it helps new players out as much as you think it does, well at least not the ones who haven't donated hundreds of dollars.  The pots are nice, but aren't going to do much work on people with 5 and 6k max sta.  Lets assume they got all 10 pots, now they have these buffs throughout 50-60k sta - or 25-30k is they use both leveling pots per hunt.  Lets be really generous and say that this gave them about 50 extra levels though those hunts.  The game has so much content, I don't think 50 levels is going to hurt anything.

Also, the pots still require you to put actual resources into the game.  It's not like you gain x levels every time you simply drink the pot.  You actually have to go out and do the same thing you were going to do otherwise - kill monsters and do quests.

#877982 Special offer rewards?

Posted by Taneras on 09 July 2014 - 12:46 in Game Help

Plus 20% extra fsp, so during a Special Offer $60 will get you 480fsp instead of the normal 400. :)

Cheers.

Oh wow, 20% huh?  Yea that's worth waiting for.  Thanks for the info :)

#877944 Special offer rewards?

Posted by Taneras on 09 July 2014 - 05:11 in Game Help

Wanting to buy 2kish fsp but I'm wanting to wait and see if a special offer comes up in a month or two.  What I'm wondering, because I really want to get some upgrades on my character asap, is what sort of rewards do you get.  I've been searching and all I can find are a high level pot per $60 spent.  Is that the only reward they'll run or do they mix it up?  Say +10% extra FSP, some reserve stamina, or something else?

#877902 Question about "xp gain" upgrade.

Posted by Taneras on 08 July 2014 - 21:28 in Game Help

I guess at such a high level 3% per level is pretty good?  As of now I'm gaining a level every 400-500 sta so levels come quick and 3% a day doesn't seem too impressive.  But that might change once I hit 1000+ lol

#877899 Question about "xp gain" upgrade.

Posted by Taneras on 08 July 2014 - 21:09 in Game Help

New player here, I'm looking at spending fsp on the  "+25 xp gain" upgrade, but I'm not sure its worth it.

If I understand correctly 25 xp is the base, and every additional 25 levels you get 1 extra xp regen per hour per upgrade.

So at lv 50, you get 26xp, at lv 75 you get 27xp, at lv 100 you get 28xp.

Is that correct?  If so I don't think its worth it.

Thank yall so much for your advice, yea I did catch on to those epic quests and man they do help out a lot.  I ended up getting a promo code, man, lots of stuff.

Also thanks BraveKath for those links.  Would have had a hard time finding those codes without that link.

Thanks again, see yall around :)

#877723 New player with a few questions.

Posted by Taneras on 07 July 2014 - 16:42 in General Discussion

1.) I've read that there are special events, apparently monthly or almost monthly, for purchasing FSP.  Has July had one yet?

2.) Looking to buy around 2k FSP, what do you think the best way to spend those are?

3.) Just started and I've noticed that the is a ranking for levels for every player who's joined in a particular month, for me its July.  I'd like to get a jump on that for next month but I've already made my account.  Is there a way for me to delete it and wait for August 1st?  Or can I create another account on August 1st if I stop using my current account?  I just hit lv 2, haven't even spent my level up points.  I've literally done nothing but the first rat quest.  Not looking to take any sort of advantage with multiple accounts, just looking for a way to get competitive.  No way I'm cracking the overall level, gold, or whatever else rankings.  Just looking for something to keep me interested.

Thanks for the info :)
