I volounteer at making a brand new GvG guide I think im considering to be one of the more competent GvGers and I have advised and trained a bunch of players and initiates into GvG.
What my Key points would be:
GvG Setups
-> Defence Setups
-> Armour Setups
Starting a GvG, Tuvoks guide to success
How to make em loose 101 Guide
Secret tactics and tricks
Since Im a merc GvG leader aswell I would make a second guide for the Guild Leaders and Council if my first guide would be well recieved:
Payment Methods ( aka. How to hold a strong GvG group)
Dirty tricks as a guild leader to "winning" aka. being Charlie Sheen of GvG
Growing your GvG department
What you need to consider
Guild bases and foundations
Specialized guilds and why they are needed
In b4 Skittles comes and calls me a farmer and a specialized GvG guildleader who doesnt value the old values of GvG and Pride. :3 A guide on "how to pride" by Skittles would be an interesting and fun read!

I always wondered how many ressources it takes to put the above into work. Ive seen players/modders write more complex websites/functions and even do their own good looking models in 3d in a half of a year of time.
Now Im not saying they are completely slacking, as some updates are happening and EOC is getting raised ever so often. But clearly it seemed that the more complex matters like the mentioned above, either had no viable solution or no proper workforce to set those things in motion.
How hard is it to implement Guild conflict Structure? Or adding medals and new unique items to GvG? You dont even alter the game mechanics with this. I just hope were not reaching out to the end of life cycle of this game. Cuz that would be really really sadthing to happen.

Ladder needs to be in 100 lvl steps!!!! 25-249 is ridicioulus...
PvP ladder as it should have been:
lvl 25-99 = 75 lvls
lvl 100-199 = 100 lvls
lvl 200-299 = 100 lvls
lvl 300-449 = 150 lvls
lvl 450-599 = 150 lvls
lvl 600-799 = 200 lvls
lvl 800-999 = 200 lvls
lvl 1000-1249 = 250 lvls
lvl 1250-1499 = 250 lvls
lvl 1500-1799 = 300 lvls
lvl 1800-2199 = 400 lvls
lvl 2200-2699 = 500 lvls
lvl 2700-3299 = 600 lvls
THis would be considering the player base pyramid the best option. And thats by a low lvl guy who got into crystal league, I am the lowest lvl in all FS who got that sweet Tyranny medal btw...
So please hear me out:
the lvl 25-249 league will be filled up in 1-2 weeks by lvl 200+ players only. the low levels (below lvl 199) that dont have super elite OP sets like Fushy + Branch will have an inequally hard time competing, while the lvl 200+ will just slap on some basic buffs from themselves and sit the lvl, farming occasionally the lower folks.
Somehow I am still in the ladder though I opted out.... Well. Ima send in a ticket to HCS, cuz I dont wanna participate in that fiasko.
Always take in consideration the playerbase amount first! Then what sets are available, mainly new sets that outdo the older ones by far, like some epics and super elites sets do. Then one should go by bracking up the lvl ranges, as I have done.
Up until lvl 600 there are enough players to fill up ladder, same goes for gear.
Everything above lvl 600 and below lvl 2000 is pretty scarce of players, alot of semi-active players, but no matter how wide you pull brackets for them there, you wont have in that lvl range proper balance/activity ratio.
So my solution seems to be the most attractive Player base wise... Just stop butchering the low levels on the ladder!
If I were a lvl 70 and had to put up in the pvp ladder against the lvl 200 guys, I would either quit ladder for a time and join em with the same 200+ sets OR and that is most likely, be put off from the ladder altogether and dont even bother pvp there.
The ladder is a great place to learn about pvp, but without victories and positive experience, there wont be any learning effect but this:

How about being able to upgrade epics, or items in general further than 5 hellforge? Make it 10 but instead of just pumping in more and more fsp, theres everytime a slight chance the item will "break" as it becomes unstable the higher dot it gets. Until 5 hellforge stars its all good and has a guaranteed nonbreakable. Then once you try to upgrade it to the 6th hellforge ball you have a 50% chance of failing the process and the item will be destroyed.
so to sum it up:
6th hellforge dot: 50% success chance
7th dot: 40% success chance
8th dot: 30% success chance
9th dot: 20% success chance
10th dot: 10% success chance
This would solve alot of problems for overinflated prices, create a money and FSP sink and in general items becoming more sought after

Now if you really want to force more return hits - then give bigger incentives for Ties and make it require less stamina. What if you keep attack hits at 50 stam each, but returns are 10 stam each? Also, on that, increase the rewards for draws and returning hits - that is more likely going to increase the activity, rather than increase the RP farming.
Ok how about this idea:
1. Initiating guild chooses in the conflict options screen between a 10 and 50 stam GvG conflict.
2. This is what every GvGer of the initiators guild has to use, so offensive attacks can only be either 10 OR 50 stam the whole offensive GvG for the guild who initiated the conflict.
3. Choosing the stamina input will determine the RP Reward for them only, but not for the defending guild.
3. The first retaliating player of the defending guild has to choose either 10 OR 50 stam attacks.
4. This first retaliation attack will determine their RP output depending on the first 10 OR 50 stam attack.
5. All retaliating hits after that have to be exactly with the same amount of stamina that was chosen with the first retaliation hit.
This option though also allows the multis to participate, so keep this in mind aswell.

I feel with my last statement, you will be able to do in some conflicts 10 stam hits, and yet in other conflicts 50 stam hits. Both sides will be satisfied.
Unless, you have other reasons.
GvG had kind of a spring feeling to it, the moment it became more rewarding and less time consuming.
I can only judge from the many connections I have amongst other GvGers, that everyone of them approved the change, GvGers formed teams again and a thriving busy athmosphere could be felt.
Thats my subjective observation. I am keeping daily an eye on the top 50 guilds, In the beginning of the 1st season week we had almost no conflicts going on, even I was struggling using that opportunity to start GvGing.
I had to phone and text my crewmembers and told them about it.
I spread the word to alot of GvGers that I have good relations with.
Many spread the word and started raising their arms.
Like a Beast out of a deep sleep, awakening.
You may have not noticed it at all, not every guild was affected as there are not that many GvG teams present to fill in every guild.
But those that formed, kept me informed and we shared the joy and tried to get more people to enjoy it with us.
The last 3 weeks had been the greatest weeks in all my GvG lifecycle and I had over 500 GvGs total, I had never as much fun as this and if it will go away, I guess this spring will be as fast over as it started. The teams formed will slowly dissolve again and we GvGers will go back to standby and lurking waiting for GvG to become as awesome as it was when RP farming was going on and half of FS was gvging. I saw alot of things, many changes made me retire often. I wont retire this time, but I will remember and grieve.
HCS made GvGing profitable, especially for levels of 50-800, theres not much fsp you can earn at those levels besides titan hunting. Why are you afraid that RP items will drop in price? You fear for your wallet so much that you would rather want GvG dead than seeing the market change? Is it really that?
You keep on asking why is it such a great change? Its not about the easy RP gain...
Its about people doing the single most thing I love about this game. And alot of them only do it if it is profitable. (You cant blame people for doing that, thats natural human behaviour)
Its bringing people together and giving them a reason to play it. Everyone has a reason why they play it and why it keeps them logging back in over and over and over. I will not want to change your opinion, I never had the intention to do so in the first place. I wanted to understand your point of view of it, but the answers I saw between the lines made me a tad bit sad.
Lets see how this vote will end up

I'm not sure that the increase in stamina usage is what is increasing activity but rather the larger reward due to it?
Maybe we could look at an option whereby the guild can specify the minimum stamina per attack in the conflict that affects the reward given - just thinking out loud
That would be great! So maybe have 4 options.
10 Stam per hit -> RP reward like 4 weeks ago
25 Stam per hit -> 0,5x of the RP reward as it is in Seasons Conflicts
50 Stam per hit -> Seasons Conflict Reward as it currently is
[75 Stam per hit -> 1,5x Amount of the Season Conflict Reward] = Would really like too see how this one would play out, most likely only viable option for lvls with high stam banks.
The guild starting the conflict would choose next to the amount of hits, the amount of stamina used per hit in GvG, with these 4 above as options!
WoW! This is actually a great solution! The low lvlers can do their 10 stam RP fights, while the more stam a team has the more they can invest into it. That way low lvls wouldnt be exempt and everyone could participate or at least try out GvG.
P.S.: Would also add extra tension, since with 75 stam there will be way more Stam put in and as such way more at stake. I can see real big battles fought in higher lvls, as big guilds fight amongst themselves for RP

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree - it takes just as much time to complete the same number of hits, whether it's 10 stams or 50 stams. The extra stam usage actually just makes it quicker to gain RP items, which in the end, will drop the value of them. It's simple supply and demand principles - ie look at titan items. You bring in titan doubler, and within a few months, the titan rewards are minimal for most titans.
You keep the 50 stam GVG's with higher rewards, then you'll see the RP reward items falling quicker and quicker just like anything else in the game. GVG has many more problems than just the RP - actually that was probably the first problem of it. Before it was about the pride of playing, now most of the time, it's all about the profit.
Really, there needs to be a bigger re-vamp of GVG, but I guess we'll see what HCS has planned. I'll just wait and see what the next step is for the discussion. My vote will not change on the subject unless there is clear reasoning (outside of it's easier to gain RP) why the 50 stam is better than the prior system.
Your referring to the RP rewards declining in price. Well, at the moment theres an overdemand on those. If you could see my log in players asking for them...
But Im not mainly doing it for the profits. I LOVE GvG, theres a reason my guild is so specialized. We pose as few attack angles as possible for retaliations, that is just a strategic choice. Just like the choice to not recruit higher lvl players or guilds recruiting only from lvl 1000+. Ive seen over the last 2 weeks a great increase in GvG activity, in such high percentage not seen for YEARS. Before we only GvGed for a bit of Rating, since the reward and time input were not even worth mentioning. And then we had less retaliations than we have now. Now guilds start to encourage taking part in the conflicts again, it may be even a great new stamina sink, but at least it is paying off. Low and High lvlers alike. Sure new RP items would be nice too, but it would take years to saturate the RP market right now. Judging by the amount of people looking for Fangs, Tears and Bobanarts skulls.
You belong to RA, a guild that sits on its rating nowadays, with an occasional GvG once a month, if any. Thats the lot of 90% of top 50 GvG Guilds. With the current change GvG would spark again and the ladder would become a more active place. I thought a such deep rooted GvG guild as RA would gladly welcome a stirrup in GvG. This may only be the beginning. Im not saying, let it just stay 50 stam hits. But 50 stam hits is clearly a step into the right direction.
