I'll recap what I already posted b4 (in the old thread):
Again I'll go positive notes first;
I do like that losing an bounty attack now equals xp loss. About bloody time, and better reflects what is going on in combat - and adds more risk to bounty hunting.
I do like the thought of this adding more PvP activity to the game, and so far that part worked. I do like the auto-posting of bounties as it adds life to the board. It has some issues though, but those I will address below.
I also like my log being spammed with attacks while I am offline, as I do njoy ppl PvPing. As the auto-posting aspect, I have issues with this, I'll address below.
1: Where did xp loss go in the PvP season? You have created the soft PvP arena, so many non-pvp'ers have asked for in years, each time shut down with "PvP is about risk, and there is no risk if no XP loss" .. now you have given ppl an opt-out (yet again) from pillow fighting Bring back xp loss, thank you. And no, "but more will partake if there is no risk" is not a valid argument.
2. Care to explain how the bounty posting system works - as in with details? I got posted for a total value around 1.6 mill, after having stolen approx 2K and having one wee bebe adding in 100K to the pot. I find the numbers not adding up to the previous explanations on this part of the system. And yes, I have seen the "here is how we somewhat think it works like" posts by staff members - none of 'em actually able to go into details.
3. How come conserve doesn't apply to xp loss on bounties anymore? If I wanna be nice, and use conserve to not plow ppl into the dirt on bounties, that should be my choice. I do not care for the "it was an exploit/bug which we have now fixed" answer. IF this was not meant to be, it would have been simple to change years ago. It is my stam, it is me doing the bounty, and I should be able to decide how I do it !
4. How come I have to click like a million times, just to clear bounties? Each hit I do, sends me back the main screen under Fight Players, aka the PvP season screen. Then click again to get back to bounty board, scroll for target, repeat. Have you tested this while trying to clear more than one bounty at a time? Poorly scripted to say the least.
5. Why put the extra strain on the already overwhelmed servers with the slotsmachine like avatar spin, while the code selects an opponent on the PvP season screen? Looks silly, and just makes everything last longer. And if you truly believe it does not strain the servers, know that it does put a strain on my patience.
6. Could you add the option, to go directly to next target after having performed a hit in PvP season? As in, instead of having to go back to main screen, click find opponent etc? Make it simple, smooth and with less clicking around.
7. I still do not, and will never understand why, I cannot select to post an bounty at a time of my choosing. To me it seems, like you really have no idea how PvP worked b4 this update, and how your players played the game. Sure I can toss in a bunch of gold, to try and get the system to post when I want.. but I really do not have a say in it. Gimme back the option to post, whenever the frack I want.
8. If you want this to somehow reflect just a little bit who does PvP, and who has at least some skills, add a small code where inactivity for .. say 2 hours, automatically makes you void as a target for the PvP season. It can be abused for sure, but the way it is now, I bet a bunch of players feel abused already, and without a chance to defend 'emselves when going to work, sleeping, having a life away from screen etc. Right now, this system (like the ladder did) reflects who has hit most offline targets.
8a. Also, remove all rewards for partaking in the PvP season, and bring back prestige as the only reward, apart from gold earnings and PvP related medal ticks.
9. Defending on the board. Should I happen to be online when the system decides to post me (based on a mysterious, few-can-figure-out and apparently no-one can explain, formula) I would under normal circumstances (b4 this update) most likely defend myself on my bounty. I'd have several tabs open in my browser with my own stats, my opponents stats, a page for quick buff changes etc. My attacker(bounty hunter) would in 99% of the time decide to take on the challenge, and we would "dance" till my bounty was either cleared, or the bounty hunter decided she/he took on a too high lvl target (yes, that did happen more than you'd think). Paying the sometimes high bounty ticket prize (if the target was lower lvl) was an incentive to keep going at it + there was a way of behaving while bounty hunting. It resulted in a somewhat intimate aspect of the game, where a target and a hunter battled for life and death, usually while chatting to each other, due to the 2 min. waiting in between hits (one of the reasons as to why we called it "dancing").
This new system, does not in any way, shape or form come close. The board is now a, where too many clicks to perform attacks are making the whole thing cold and sterile, and where it has no "cost" to simply skip hitting on a hard-to-clear target, and let the bounty hang till the player goes offline, and buffs wear off.
I urge you (HCS) to look into how the UI on the bounty board is designed, and how to accept a bounty. You can have ideas as to how you think it can be, and I as a user of it, can tell you how I experience it - and wish that you'd start seeing the difference between your incentive behind a game feature, and how it actually is.
I could do the same rant for taking on bounties, since the same apply the other way around.
10. The stam cost of all PvP. I cannot remember how much stam, or gain you start out with in this game, so sadly I cannot hand out the math for you (someone with a better memory around?). The gain can be upped via joining a guild with Endurance shrine and completing the epic quests. There may be more free upgrades, but not as I recall right now. So, you'd need to invest $$$ into the game or work like a crazy to gain enough FSP to make upgrades, buy epics etc etc. As a lower lvl player/new player - this is not as easy as we sometimes try to make it sound.
If I am a new player, who have found a way to establish myself an income in game, having 70-90 stam gain per hour, and a max stam bank around 2500-4500 seems about right (again, the numbers may be off due to poor memory) - so, how many hits can I perform? I gain less than 2 hits per hour. Can I level, titan hunt, do globals, etc, if I'd like to try PvP? If we're rude and go "make a choice, you cannot do all" - we not only go against what we have always said about the game (you can play all aspects, and you should to fully understand/appreciate it), how big is my chance to compete?
I got everything knocked outta me while being offline - and heyho, I have good gear, am high level, had a big stam bank to perform a big pile of hits in the season... and atm I have nothing to show for it (bronze league, and I was crystal), simply because I have a life away from screen. So you think this part of the game is still for all players - new and old?
11. The opt-out. If enough ppl decide to opt-out ... can I risk being locked in the wooden tier, simply because I have no targets to hit? Can I be stuck with 2-3 others, and just have to violate their logs to raise myself up a tier?
12. It is not fair for a lvl 1K player, having to compete in a league with lvl 2600+ players. The lvl 1K may be a good PvPer, but will simply be overrun by stats on gear and buff power. I attacked a lvl 1200 player yesterday - I was buffed normally, he was using a global pot (ruby chest, lotsa fire power)... I still won. Highly unfair for him.
13. Next time you go around completely ripping an aspect of the game into pieces, and trying to make it into something new; How about you listen to the feedback of those, who actually play that aspect of the game? Most of the above was said b4 this update ever hit the game.. numerous times.
