I don't understand why bounded gear/equipment can't be composed too  :o

I've bought my share of BP slots - not for the bounded equipment but for bounded potions!

 

Anyway, this is not going to be as easy as most might think

I'm a founder and even clearing out some of the obsolete tagged LE and SE gear from our guild I will unlikely make a single major compose potion at start :huh: 

 

Well done FS community players for this suggestion and well done HCS  for making it happen :D

This is why I was leery of the idea.   I just saw a level 1 dagger, 1 damage on the AH for 1 fsp.  I actually bought one today, early, for a level two player, paid all of ten gold for it.  I think this idea may backfire, if the market doesn't correct itself soon.  As for the medal, no skill required, just lots of gold.  It would appear to me that this particular one is up for sale to the highest bidder.  Also, what's going to happen when all these potions become available?  Someone mentioned earlier making a potion good for 60 hours. Isn't this going a bit overboard?  Isn't there anyway to link the breakdown to gear within 25 levels of your level?  Otherwise the lower levels are going to be mined, making the experience for starting players much less than enjoyable.

it will right itself once the rush dies down. Ii can remember selling heffle wart and trinettle for 50k gold+++ the first day that potion making came to be. and people were buying them by the truck loads!!! it will calm down trust me.

Totaly agree... if personnal bounded item cannot be fragmented, the composing lost 50% of it's interest to my opinion... :(

yes...i am wondering about this also..no mention of a possible date..would be really nice to know..seems 1st part is going great..dont see why it should take that long to implement making potions with our fragments..everyone trying to compose is waiting eagerly..if it takes too long it may lessen the reviving of most game aspects, that is happening now....everyone has the rush..lets keep it going..ready to make some potions...

Just wondering. Will there be more frequent le/se creatures in the caves from now on since the demand for le, se fragments will rise for people to get the higher level potions?

 

and is it just me or are there mainly common items dropped at extreme low levels and only a select few mobs at higher levels that drop commons since i mostly get rare shards :/

 

is there a possibility that we can use rare shards instead of commons?  or rares for uniques with a certain table? or are the types of shards unchangable?

 

i'd personally love to be able to use common/rare/unique shards instead of the legendary shards since these are not that accessable ... i can easily gain acces to super elite shards but legendary and crystalline are harder to acces ( thinking of deathspinner amulets)

i have to agree about the legendary items..there will need to be many more legendary events or caves..as far as i know, there are not any legendary creatures dropping legendary items available for hunting (not in caves)..hope i dont need many legendary fragments for potions..

well we don't need many legendary fragments but we do need some but currently the main problem i have is that i have 800 rare fragments and only 50 commons and 100 uniques because the common items aren't that common actually :P

While LE creatures will still appear in the caves every so often, my personal hope is that Realm based Legendary Events will once more be properly viable.

I was the one who mentioned that potion of 60 hours.

Sure, it is a very powerful potion, but to be honest I doubt anyone in their right mind would make it. The 400 items that I bought before breaking down items went live were mostly fully forged Unique and LE items that give 6-8 fragments. The price of this potion for me would have been around 450-500 FSP.

 

Any sane person would instead make something like 60 potions that each last an hour. (at 8 FSP per potion)

Or 30 potions with 2 level 250 skills in them that last 1 hour. (at 16 FSP per potion)

Or 20 potions with 3 level 250 skills in them that last 1 hour. (at 24 FSP per potion)

 

Savanc, I have to agree with you about the medals, I just hadn't happened to think of it that way before.  But on the cost , we've got an awful lot of folk in the game who are coloring in their books with just a few crayons.  There are items for sale in the AH that would cost a bundle if you translated FSP into local currency.  And no, these items are not being temporarily stored there                                                                                                                   , these are honest sales. So I'm betting the cost is going to stay high, and there will be some obscenely high potions lengths out there.  I'll be delighted to be proved wrong.  

        I'm going to have to see what actually happens when the potions manufacturing begins in earnest.  I foresee a new profession:  Item farmers.  Which may make the AH a little unwieldy, for the short term, anyway.

There are plenty of common items in the game. You can use the UFSG to look them up.

but i tend to find more rare drops than common drops wich is kinda strange since one would expect that common should be appearing more than rare drops?  talking about critter drops that is.

 

but about my other question wil we be able to substitute lower tier fragments for higher tier ones?

I see no real reason to do so. Check the creatures to are killing for the items they drop. Find one that only drops commons and farm it. And ensure that your auto-discard is not switched on to commons.
