Hi,

Those of you that know me know that im currently sponsoring 1 player and 1 guild to help reach their goals aswell as rech their max potential as a power leveler. I believe this shouldnt just be a one man thing. What im doing is not only a kind thing to do but would greatly improve the number of people that stay in fallensword. I have seen higher levell players talk down to begginers as if they only have 2 brain cells, that isnt fair if you were new at something im sure you would awnt to be more lenent on aswell as taught the right way. its as if your picking up a pet you want at a pet store and it bites you you put it down and move on not knowing what it was like to have that pet in your life. im strongly reccomending karma get put in place, ive thought about a payment structure for 'mentoring'each new player gets offered to take up mentoring upto level 200, if you are a mentor you have to actively help your trainee as best you can to learn the game, each day your trainnee can give karma, 1 karma per day and an extra karma point per 10 levels, a mentor can only help upto 3 people and must obtain game loyalty gold before being able to mentor begginers. if the begginer goes innactive your karma remains the same and the trainee is taken off the list, once a player has recieved game loyalty bronze or level 200 you gain 50 karma points, karma points should only be able to be spent on potions, chests, and exchange 2 points for 1fsp. if you think it should be rewarded differently please comment your ideas!:)

'karma' has been listed on my profile since i came back in april, meaning the idea has been there for a long time. im just simply pushing it along, not only for our benefit but for all the new players aswell as producers benefit, if they start now i predict an increase in the buying of fsp this decembers special offer

It's bad karma if they say they will and don't. So that's the problem.

to obtain an application for power leveling just pm me and i will see if your suitable, if you are you will recieve an application and all you have to do is fill it out and send it back, once ive reviewed it i will respond wether it would suit you or not, if it does suit you there will be a 7 day wait (currently 6 days remaining) till i will stop taking applications and compare them to find the most suitable aswell as beneficial candidate to undertake the powerleveling 'guide' as some might say :)

if they do not give karma you do not have to help them, meaning they are better off giving it it will be free :)

As I mentioned to you earlier bmcge11,  a nameless player (whose name I so wish I had kept) gave me an enchanted pickaxe, most wonderful weapon I've ever owned, and thus kept me from dropping out of the game.  I've tried to pay it forward, and agree with you on the Karma idea.  I've also been talked down to by higher level players, and at this point in my game career, it doesn't bother me, I just think it's funny.

Idea implantation aside, it's not really that hard when going through the temple of the ways to do a bit of hunting and send a few items off to those who could use them.  Since most of these beginners haven't gotten the hang of the big "!" I don't expect a response, I just know that it probably helps them to more easily gain a few levels, and probably stay in the game.

Incidentally while I've been writing this out, three more posts have been made.  Hope your idea gains momentum.

The problem with your system is how can the system be made so that its not possible to simply buy your way to the top? One could easily say, "Paying 1 FSP for every karma point you send me." Then everyone will send their points to that player when really no mentoring has happened. There really is no karma in that system. That's just another form of the loyalty section; its just others giving the points to others.

I always try to help new players to the game, usually on a daily basis... I hang around in global chat and buff them when they come in, answer their many faceted questions, send them helpful links that I've accumulated through the years, and offer my friendship and guidance for the future... In the past 7 years, I have made many many friends in this way, and for me, that is all the reward that I require... IDK about you others...

Well, HCS put that on our bio with an idea, did anyone ever read anything HCS said about it ?

I really want to know what was the original idea behind Karma.

Karma, as suggested eons ago, yes - that should be implemented.

Karma in the form suggested here ? - NO

WAY too abusable ..

"ive thought about a payment structure for 'mentoring'each new player gets offered to take up mentoring upto level 200, if you are a mentor you have to actively help your trainee as best you can to learn the game, each day your trainnee can give karma, 1 karma per day and an extra karma point per 10 levels, a mentor can only help upto 3 people and must obtain game loyalty gold before being able to mentor begginers. if the begginer goes innactive your karma remains the same and the trainee is taken off the list, once a player has recieved game loyalty bronze or level 200 you gain 50 karma points, karma points should only be able to be spent on potions, chests, and exchange 2 points for 1fsp" ??

If you want to show someone the ropes in the game, you show them the ropes - you should NOT expect to get paid for this. Under the original proposal, karma points were given by players to other players and every so often, a SMALL reward was given by the cows for those with points. Being able to select a reward - or, worse, exchange karma points for FSP (like that'd ever happen) is not in the "spirit" of karma.

The only thing that this kind of reward structure would bring about is a plethora of multies again :(

So, my vote here is no.

But, yes, I'd still like to see the cows version of Karma at some point..

Karma would be monitored and dealt with the same way selling guild rp would be dealt with, you can report your mentor for excessively asking for karma points with no help to them involved, players offering karma want to level up correct? and higher level players want fsp/pots etc, thats where the bonus comes in handy :P milestones like game loyalty level 50 level 100 level 200 etc, they have a section for recruiting and you recieve fsp when they level this would roughly be the same but with players who just joined not players you told to join :)

i did think that the karma payment structure would make alot of multis :P well why not start with non tradeble level 500 adept learner con and lib? or maybe an exp boost like pvp prestige? im only aiming for more higher level players to help begginers, itd greatly increase the number of actives :P

Who's going to monitor this? The cows have enough on their hands now, why add more?

Making the rewards bound will not solve the issue with there being more multis!

Hey all.

Karma shall be added in due time. It will be a way of showing you appreciate the help you are given as a new player. Once in a very blue moon, players with karma will receive a gift. It won't be terribly powerful, certainly not game breaking, but a small thanks.

~ Grim

That is exactly what Karma is about...its for new players period!

I have, marked myself as a mentor since that part of the game  was added
Not for the rewards but as an additional source of info for the new player
Since it was implemented I had 3 new players ask me specific question
Even though I wanted to flood them with all the knowledge I had about the game, I controlled that urge and answered accordingly to their question
I'd get a thank you message from them if I answered their question and all is fine
K.I.S.S Keep It Simple Stupid as it is their game...not yours :P lol
