I just read all 6 pages of comments and curiously no one mentioned something related with the new Quick Buff system that is bugging me. I refer to the ability to add several targets to buff at once instead of having now to add (type) one by one, which is a big pita! Can we please have it back??

I also agree the new buff pop-up window should be bigger.

Other than that, thank you and congrats for all the implements you are trying to bring to the game.

ps: I don't use the FSH.

This new PvP-Ladder update... all I read is Terrible, Destroyed, worse, blah, blah, and blah. Apparently now the ladder can be manipulated... shocker! Let's look at the past and the present:

Past: Anyone could join and if two players from same guild were in the ladder they could not attack one another.

Present: Anyone can join and now players from the same guild can attack one another.

I don't know what you all are seeing, but what I see is more potential in the new update. Instead of no activity, there can now be lots of activity. Instead of not being allowed to test your strengths against your guildmates, now you can!

Post after post here people say now you can manipulate the ladder, exploit the ladder. Please, tell me how this manipulation will "destroy" the ladder.

then, it sounds like the whole ladder thing should be tossed in the recycle bin..aside from exploitation...does it help bring in players that dont pvp into pvp ? outside of the pvp guilds ? and if all are admitting that the ladder could already be exploited and new update admitting it can be exploited...WHY HAVE IT THAT WAY ???  sounds stupid...

Many thanks to HCS for their continuing effort to improve the game. :)

With that said, the new quick buff window has a huge drawback that it does not show already active buffs as highlighted.

This was mentioned here before several times by dowuones and others.

PLEASE fix it if possible.

Also let me suggest that while you are working that fix, it will be great to have different colors for:

1)      Buffs bellow lvl 175 – This will help identifying buffs you or others have that are not maxed.

2)      Buffs at lvl 175

3)      Buffs above lvl 175 - This will help noticing if you forgot to drink some of your potions.

I believe that this color-code can be implemented at the same IF in the fix that checks for activity of each buff, so it shouldn't be a huge hassle code-wise.

Thank you kindly    :)

Describes the main problem well. HIGHLIGHT ACTIVE BUFFS on the checklist. You do not need two lists of buffs! It is purely a hassle to reference back and fourth between two different lists of 30-40 buffs.  HIGHLIGHT ACTIVE BUFFS like FSH.

While I appreciate the intent, this is a slower, poorer interface than the FSH one. Heck, buffs were the main reason I kept FSH active anymore despite being mostly broken.

The idea of having 3 colors for highlighting is great. Notice how well particular words stand out?

Everything can be exploited, should we just scrap everything and start from scratch? And that is just using your logic for this matter.

so true..ya got me..what i am more getting at ..is that somehow between the cows and the community, you would think someone could come up with a better idea as to how to run the pvp aspect of the game, where is it not as easy to exploit, and get more players that dont pvp into trying pvp.....ladder does not seems to be working..something new/ or old needs to be tried..

No matter how they plan it, it will be exploitable. The way they updated it now is that even though its exploitable, there will more activity within the ranks. HOPEFULLY, people in the same guilds will see this as a nice way for competition.

Side note: People have been asking for ways for guild members to be able to attack one another time and time again and now they can. Why are we complaining?

The ladder gives out the medal for whoever can stay first in the ladder for so many hours. Getting the gold medal in that category would take 3 months to do. Are people that conspire together that patient for each one of them to wait 3 months for each one to get their gold medal. And its even longer for the higher medals.

Why not stop all this ridiculous nonsense that no two players are going to agree 100% on and fix this game to the brilliance it was a few years ago.  Cows keep listening to a select few whiners from a few select guilds (well, just one mainly), and expect the blabberings of those few to be the desire(s) of the entire FS Community.  PvP has sucked for a long time and now sucks worse.  I may not be a PvP'er, but the way it is so screwed up is why I leave it alone.  Now the buffing page is different for no good reason whatsoever and doesn't even fit on the screen entirely, and on and on.  Yes, I know I am making general comments and not being specific, so ignore me and see if I care.  As for the majority of you who know what I mean and do not need it spelled out, please try to get some messages across so the "select" few won't be the only ones the Cows kowtow to (pun intended).  I am bitter and somewat disgusted and may soon chuck the whole thing in and stick to Skyrim and the likes. Sad!

(mutters to self:  "must stick to topic, must stick to topic...)

What has broadly happened with this update  Is that the buff screen was changed, and the attempt was made to change PvP a bit.  I Think that is something all can agree on.

The problem here is that the same folk are commenting on the forums most of the time, and not that they shouldn't, but it's still a small percentage, probably less then 1%,  of those who play the game regularly.

What needs to be done is to get a sizable hunk of the players who never visit the forums involved, so that their input can be registered.

No, I admit I don't know how to do it, but FS does not lack for smart players, and some of them will have brilliant ideas.  We just have to get them to open their mouths.

Maybe guild leaders mass mailing their members asking them to comment on any given change.  (I've tried that, it wasn't a resounding success with the "Brotherhood"...)  maybe something else, I dunno.  But a surge in NEW forum participates would certainly help lay to rest the feeling that a special elite are controlling the game.

Anyway people, get some of the other folk in your guilds to comment. the newbies, oldbies and mediumbies.  Let's hear what the usually unheard think of the changes.

I fully agree with Thorsark and kokorog. The new interface is awful, especially when you are buffing many people. It becomes completely cumbersome to figure out what buffs are already active on the target players. Please either fix it or revert back to the old interface. While you're at it, it would be nice to see if Extend, Reinforce, Buff Master, and Guild Buffer are active on you like FSH used to do.

Having hunted last night, and hence used the new buff window, I'll add my voice to a few things already said in this forum.

Thanks for work on the quickbuff window: great to see FSH features getting incorporated into the main game

Colour to highlight active buffs (and greying-out unmaxed buffs) would be great to add

The active buff list at the top doesn't really work when one has lots of buffs. Better to do this with colour-coding, but even without that, there wasn't an obvious order to the buff list to facilitate cross-checking on active buffs. There are some buffs (like CA) that I will use for only some levels in a hunt, and really appreciated the FSH colouring of active buffs as a good way of monitoring whether those were active or not.

Mouseover to explain the buffs would be great. (FSH used to do this, but that feature hasn't worked for me for a while)

Well good to see Roadmap progress. :)

The buffing feature looks great, and stam usage and categories all very nice. I concur with the request of many that the list above of those buffs a person has would be much more effective if simply (or perhaps it's not simply) signified on the buffing list itself. .... If you would actually regularly buff people you would see what we mean.

I know it's terribly late in the process, but would you not consider a testing server where a few players can actually give you concrete feedback while you're in process prior to game wide implementation? When someone is widely distributed there will always be negative critics and there will oftentimes be things that even testers didn't catch, but it might make your jobs easier in the long run and not as frustrating ... I at least would be a tad frustrated, as I know you guys are working hard.

This is definitely progress.

Thanks!

This has been something players have been suggesting pretty much since day 1. Even now, all these years later, I still think that this would be a FANTASTIC idea and would save the cows an awful lot of player angst ..

Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.

Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

As per feedback buffs, headers and the check all check boxes now have labels that can be clicked.

Also if you click on a player name in the list all that players buffs will grey out below, so you can see which they don't have easily.

Just tested it out. That makes things a little bit better. Thanks for the adjustment. :)

Thank you for the latest changes.

Just a few suggestions:
Instead of having to click the name of a player you want to see active buffs for every time, make this the default behavior (active buffs are already marked of the first player of the list)

* Color coding:
Grey: Buffs that are at the minimum level in order to learn other buffs. As example: You need Death Wish level 25 in order to learn Keen Edge.
Green: Buffs already active on the target player
Yellow: Buffs not already active on the target player

* Missing features FSH used to have:
Show the duration of the buffs Extend, Reinforce, Buff Master, Guild
Buffer active on myself, as a line in between the player name (buff target) and the buffs to select. When the buff Extend was active, the color of it would be yellow, and show remaining minutes after it. When the buff had worn out, the color of it would turn red. You could then click on it, and the buff would activate on yourself.

Selecting different buff packs/templates should get added to the current selection, not replace the buff selections.

Pop up info, of what the buffs do, when you hover with your mouse over them, to select them.

A "clear all" button, for selected buffs.

A button with "add self", to the buff targets.

* Bug:
When selecting a buff pack/template, it does not show stamina cost

There's already a link there for that. It's under the current target player (to the left of the "add target" button).
