im suggesting this for evil selfish reasons... i think it would be nice to see what others bid for in AH, stuff thats running. WHY? there is these times when i have people out bid me in the last second sometimes i would like to return the favor just saying

You could ask the seller

If they are ever bidding ahead of time, then you can be assured that the favour has already been returned - just not knowingly by you.

 

Having said that, knowing recent sale prices would be a great aid to those who buy and sell semi-regularly or infrequently.

I feel your pain... that use to really tick me off.  However, enabling players to see what another player is bidding on could really be abused.  Bidding on an item in AH is also a way to protect gold while hunting, allowing gold thieves to see what you bid on and when that auction ends would take away one of levelers ability to protect their gold.

LMAO  You know why there are very few high gold items in the AH?  Cuz sellers are afraid of me and my associates.  I used to scope the AH back in the day, before the FSBox and the Find Player list with FSH nice little feature.  It was tedious, cuz you had to know who was in range.  Many many merchants sell things in all level ranges.  Would I like to see a list of who's bidding how much on what?  Maybe, but I don't think that would be fair.  And it would take away the thrill of the hunt, actually.  Now, if no names were mentioned, just say when you search an item it shows you how many were sold in say the past week and the average paid for them, this would be a useful tool, for buyers who are comparison shopping, and for sellers wondering "what the heck is the market value of this thing?"  A shortcut, yes, but still a valuable tool.
