I understand that part, Raku, but, that's just a straight win button, I don't play a game to just steam through it, I want to take a bite out of something.  The loss of XP is nothing, even the damage from a 100 stam hit can be repaired in minutes,  XP included, and it's part of the game, just an obstacle in your path.  A "you come to a crossroads and are struck by bandits" scenario... what do you do now?  It's just part of the game to me, and I'm not trying to hurt anyone, I'm just playing bandit because Hoof designed the game for me to do it.  It's what I pay for, it's what I designed my character to do.  I respect the *leveler* for his angst, but it's a game, and you're just not supposed to take things all that seriously.   All this squabbling has gone on for far too long.   And in the end it's all up to Hoof, and I've seen him around these forums a bit lately, so I know he's listening.  Hoof is a genius.... he'll eventually think of something.... let's stop all these threads that launch flame fests and invite unsavory characters and concentrate on positive things, and let Hoof do it for a change.  Patience is key here, with the situation and with each other.

what i dont like about pvp and solutions to it- 2 very simple ways to help decrease and come close to eliminating the bullying, harassing , whatever you wish to call it..-  no more of this stupid 1 hr rule to hit same player , make it 24 hrs...and no more counter bountying on the bb....do those 2 things..and there would be a lot less problems..less chance to bully, harass or whatever...you can still have your xp loss and as i have always said gold stealing.( i still say more gold should be taken for the risk)...master thief should be better than it is...you carry lots of gold..expect to get hit..

Im not sure what games you play but i guess ive just been spoiled by all the ones i play then and i have quite a collection thats were my data and argument came from not one of my games are free for all open pvp on anyone i come across. If i find someone to fight it has to be outside of town or a designated area and they agree to it or i toggle my pvp status on then im open to anyone to attack freely until i toggle it off usually at a cost of a cooldown penalty or in some games its in the form of a duel invite i could keep going but dont tell me there is no games like that because i play some big title games and its funny thats how they operate on the pvp front. I forgot to mention one game even has a whole seperate char for pvp he is already max level all you do is gear him up and go fight if you would like a list of my games by all means PM me and ill share since i dont want to advertise them in HCS forums.

PvP has developed a bad name, due to it being used to terrorize, as rumor has it.

as rumor has it? are you denying the fact that PvP is used to terrorize players?

I actually made a thread on duel invites and it got shot down for being to much like arena? I thought it was a great idea for 2 people with a beef to settle things if you would like to see it im sure its in search still its called PvP Duels i think

What reality am I in? One where I'm not ignorant or oblivious to how players use PvP in this game.. I was in the warrior kings throughout the whole summer. I know about terrorizing players through PvP. To ignore what I witnessed and was apart of, would to be living outside reality..

Trying to gain some credibility by name dropping is arrogant. Now you want to come off as an informant ready to tell all with Geraldo Rivera-esque integrity. Nobody cares. Instead of feeding more hysterical logs into the flames, try making a few more threads to moderate.

What I hate about PvP? hmm It screws with my titan hunting becuase I have to plant myself on a champion to recoup the x5 levels lost for each PvPer I 100 stam hit on BB Oh well, there's always the scavenging caves to keep me intertained...oh wait the scout I send in has all the fun *sigh*

I don't like the fact that pvp is almost never true pvp... usually 1 party is well prepared while the other is offline or unbuffed.

I would like some type of pvp where I can go test my skills with other willing participants and battle a bunch over a shorter time frame.. once per hour is boring and a waste of buffs..

Along with that is my other challenge.  I realize it is my challenge, but you asked.  I have a job and a life and log in once a day.  So for example, on the ladder the most hits I can return is 2, 3 if lucky.  When I come online and find I have been 100 stammed 7 to 10 times and have over 200K in repairs there is no way to recover those points.  And sure enough for those 2 hours my opponents are online and fully buffed unlike when I was offline and unbuffed.  So it becomes less PvP and more about pounding the snot out of person in a coma.  Especially when you realize the attackers are getting no gold, no PvP prestige and no PvP Rating.  The opponents are just beating you because it's fun. 

 

I wonder if the idea is to run players out so you so they can be king(s) of the empty fighting ring. 

 

What I like about PvP:  Keeps you on your toes.  Don't keep too much gold on hand and try to find good offline gear that maybe you could win with a little luck.

 

The only solution I can find is to limit buffs.  Any player (in a range) can beat any other player if the target is offline , unbuffed and the attacker has time to equip the perfect set and get a 1,000 stam in buffs.
