I was just wondering if FS was ever going to have another double shard event?

 

There was one last November, where supersonic? video shards were worth double for 48 hours or something.. unfortunately I was away on holidays and could only see part of it all.

 

Im not sure if it was a HCS ran event, or a Supersonic one ( or token adds or or etc)

No double shard event, because there is only a small number of players that benefit from it.

Definitely Pardoux..it will be here in the forum somewhere as it was an announcement.  Around early Nov last year.

 

Ringhal, how do you work out that only a small number of players benefit from doing offers?

 

I see you are into composing? Not everyone does composing, yet there is still globals for that. Hell I don't do any and I still help the community for others to benefit.

 

Anything that helps keep this game alive is a good thing... and  offers/ vid rewards etc are a great way for new players to get on their feet as well.

Based on the data from here: http://www.alexa.com...fallensword.com, most players are from either the US or UK and I believe that those areas have the most advertisers (not only for Fallen Sword, but other sites as well).

 

I won't discuss composing as this is irrelevant to this topic.

yes for shard event, i dont bother with shards really, but some do and id like to see those that invest in hcs outside of donations have their turn, once again if hcs sees the last double shard event was a success im all for it

IF most players ( if I believe that site) are from US and UK, and IF those areas have the most advertisers as well, by your own reasoning/ post, wouldn't that mean a MAJORITY of players would benefit?

 

Regardless, I still stand by the opinion that anything that keeps interest in the game is a good thing, and I can't see where it would hurt anything even if only 5% of players got offers to complete.

 

Once every 6 months isnt a huge game changer, but it adds to interest.

Oops, I appear to have made a typo in my initial reply, I probably should have reread my post before replying. What I was meant to say is that there are a few players that get left out simply because of their location.

I do agree with this, but I don't think offering double rewards is the way to keep people interested.

I did get your point about community spirit. However, completing the offers only benefits the player doing them where as with a global event, all qualified participants are rewarded.

IF that site has the correct numbers, then 70,2% are from the US and UK, and 29,8% aren't. 

 

I'm one of those 29,8%. There already is a huge "injustice" in the amount of available shard videos etc, since we get far fewer of those over here than you get over there. Maybe we should get double the shards since we have less videos to watch?

i didnt do offers until they did the double shard event other then watch the videos after that i started doing the apps you name it during that double shard event i went bananas... if i would of known that you can get that many i would of done it ages ago

Very good point, Mzzz

 

Shards convert to fsp, that helps the fs community by supporting ah and numerous other ways you can possibly think of.

 

Rather than dispute the pros/cons of it, seeing the cows ran it once, can HSC reply to whether it was a one- of event ?

I believe, since the start of Video Offers...I've made 5FSPs at the most...Mostly of the videos pays 1-2 Shards per video =/

I make 8 to 10 fsp a day and occasionally up to 50 a day from videos I live outside the USA UK...

 

Double shards were great on that weekend and would be great to happen again

video offers usually gimme 20 shards each. apps 300-800 shards then the ones i really like anyone from 1k-6k shards

I usually stick to watching the vids now, as the few offers I have done in the past havent paid, and it was a trial from screenshot  hell to go thru their  service systems to prove you did A and B and should get C etc etc
 
and tbh, some of the videos are actually informative or entertaining! Does anyone remember the Harmony Freebush ones? I found it on youtube :

I remember that one. We had to contact the AD group and remind em we're PG-13 and that we'd like that one removed, ta.

As for a Double Shard event? Who knows?
