I voted sometimes.

Only the Sith deal in absolutes

But in all seriousness, I have seen both good and bad dealings here when it comes to criticism.  I for one applaud Hoof's decision to better define forum rules for all as he did above with clear reguards as to how the forums will be moderated.  This is definitely a step in the right direction.

Thank you Egami for posting this thread and thank you HCS for responding as you have.

I voted 'In general, yes' because all in all I think they usually do.

I think sometimes we as a player base get far too excited and emotionally involved in this game, to the point where we don't even realise how irrational, rude or self entitled etc etc our posts are actually becoming. Then we get even more flustered when these posts don't get the attention we think they deserve.

Not saying this is always the case but it definitely is quite often.

I wake up, write 1 post then take shower and write 2 posts, then I go to work

I come back tired, sit down and open FS, I go to forum and see players liking my posts but problem I can not find my posts because they deleted

I did not attack players in forum and what I posted was in Terms of Use acceptable

I said my opinion about topic and I give reason why I think so but my 3 opinions were deleted

This is a thread about how well they respond to constructive criticism - not how quickly/well they add updates or respond to suggestions.  Please try to keep on topic.

What a fantastic report card! I think this is the most significant poll I've ever seen in the game. If the staff has the fortitude for it could there be a link to the game to ask EVERYONE to vote and comment? I'm so happy players can finally feel empowered to tell HCS how they feel about the game without hopefully being condemned/muted/bullied/censored/suspended/terminated! Players have been walking on eggshells for far too long. I have significantly curtailed my posting lately, but again, I really don't care about the repercussions because I am no longer an ardent player, meaning I have relinquished the fact that my time and money spent on this game is irreparable. But I'm going to write this opinion just like I've written 1000s of other posts over the years - honestly and openly and BY THE RULES!

I would have voted 'sometimes' but sadly I had to honestly vote NO. Particular HCS staff responds horribly and unprofessionally to players' constructive criticism! I would have voted that they used to respond well to players had there been that option.

As I usually do, let me explain WHY I voted this way - and there are many reasons. When I started playing this game at the end of '07(yes, that is 7.5 years ago) I was like any new player. I had never played any other types of games online. As I was learning the game I headed here to the forum to learn more. At that time Hoofmaster, believe it or not, regularly interacted with players and their ideas to improve the game here in the forum. By regular I mean he would appear almost daily! It was exciting, as it still is, when you saw Hoof's name appear and then he asked YOU questions, made an immediate decision, and then like magic a change occurred to the game that improved it. It was a lot of fun! I donated $1000s of disposable income over the years. It was worth the entertainment value.

As a player, I was proud to have been a part of convincing Hoof(and without his approval NOTHING happens and we know it) of many substantial game improvements: capping +1% towards next level upgrade, buffs like constitution changed to work in PvP, and adding the blocking messages just to name a few. There is a consistent need for game development!

Then slowly other HCS games started to appear. HCS began to try to repeat the same formula that made their cash cow, pun intended, a success. HCS was growing. They built and moved into a new fancy studio. Eldeven was talked about being in development for YEARS, but nothing seemed on the horizon. Sigmastorm2 came, then it went. Ironically, that game was a precursor to what has happened here.

And as businesses grow new problems arise, and attention to detail always wanes. Hoof became less of a presence on FS. Authority was delegated. Development that needed coding nearly disappeared, or became so infrequent it seemed as though it did. As complaints began to rise, some players quit. Others became more vocal, one of which I was. I was still having fun under the circumstances. However I was starting to be admonished heavily for my "disruptive" and "toxic" tone. How many others have been labeled deviants in such a way? I was PERMANENTLY banned from the forum multiple times(lol ironically) alongside so many other prominent players. My favorite example is how Stangvalle was voted by the community as the Game's Most Influential Player yet concurrently was excluded from the forum by HCS. Dissent was growing and the tyrannical bullying started to try and hide players criticism more often, something which has continued to this day!

The issues have never disappeared! All the post deletions and forum bans in the world don't make the problems and player's dissatisfaction and disenchantment disappear. Now the game is at a precipice in my humble opinion. An opinion that used to make donations. As a result of the game's current very poor development, any action HCS makes moving forward, if any, comes a little too late. I have made up my mind that there will be no revival of the game for me. I have moved on. Sorry HCS, you have lost my business!

I find that communication between cows to be non existent for the most part. Only when its urgent do the big guys come and take a look. By then its a tad too late. Communication is the key to success.

I voted yes. I have always had a good response from HCS staff, not only here on FS, but on Legacy as well. I have said many times, the cows listen. They go above and beyond to try to keep us all happy and logging in. This is a business for them, many take this for granted. Yes, I have donated, watched countless videos and completed hundreds of surveys, not o. In my years, I have never had a ticket ignored, my suggestions are listened to, and I've even had hoof send me a lost quest item the day after Christmas, when the office was closed.

I don't like the new pvp. I have retired from that venue forever, but I will be here, every day, until the server goes dark... Hope that never happens.

I voted no,because how the threads where all locked out on the pvp change 3 weeks ago..

But,I think they are trying to change and I think things are getting better.

Sometimes you cant  make change until something bad happens and you need to change I think this is that..

Please see the following thread:

https://forums.hunte...and-moderation/

:)

Thank you Hoof. (o0

I would like to thank the 83 players that voted (I didn't... seemed "wrong"). I would like to thank the 40-some odd (random guestimate) that took the time and effort to respond to the thread.

What I would highlight is the following:

There are a lot of different votes reflecting differing opinions.

All of them, in my opinion, are valid.

I may not agree with them all... but just because you and I have differing opinions does NOT mean that either of us is "wrong".

FS is definitely that way. Players tend to indulge in what they enjoy and there are multiple options.

After the HCS response, I believe that my time and effort (not to mention the huge effort of FS players both within this post and in messages to me in game) was worthwhile.

Again, thank you to HCS and the FS Community and, above all...

Prosperous smacking! (o0

My personal vote, in the end, was "sometimes".

I know I've had talks and discussions during updates, or discussing updates with Mojawk, Grim and Hoof. They have responded to me, and I feel like there was an open discussion, where the opinions mattered, and it may have had some affect on their views. I don't think it would stop anything that they had intended, which is fine, but I think it gave them a different perspective than the way they were viewing. That's all I could ask - I was giving constructive feedback, and they had responded in a respectful way.

More recently, my answer could have shifted to no. There are 2 warning points on my profile, and about 5-10 thoughtful and constructive replies about PVP seasons that were deleted and moderated. The comments on the reasoning were not very clear, and I had to disagree. When I inquired about them, I didn't get a response. Personally, I don't think there was any flaming, or any violation of rules outside of disagreeing with the system and giving them honest constructive feedback. There was a short time where my initial reaction was to walk away, but figured I'd stick it out for the friends I have made here, and to try to help improve the game for all.

generally yes, but i'm not a squeaky wheel

I don't flip my desk over - run around the room beating my chest, breaking furniture and flinging my poo against the walls whenever something happens in what i think of as a silly little game

I said sometimes.   There are things I'm watching, but I'm not going to hold my breath because I don't want to turn blue.

I wait, I am mostly patient, but not always.

If things become to much one sided, I know where the door is and how to find my way to it.

As much as I like playing this game along with others, sometimes things can become mean.

The pen is mightier than the sword or so the saying goes.  Sometimes I doubt that.
