So in discussing the seasonal titans, there was a suggesting of making a titan that had personal TKP instead of guild TKP. It occurred to me, that the Elemental Titans are basically set up that way, albeit within a quest, so TKP is not used.

So, I think it would be cool to have some new titans that are similar to the Elemental ones.  They could just be higher level Elementals, so an extension of what is already there just higher level, or they could be completely new in some way so as to be new for everyone.

I have also always envisioned a titan that slowly moves across the screen for the duration it is spawned.  So it could start at one side of the screen, and then when so many kills are made or so much time has passed, it moves one square.  Once it reaches the other side of the screen, it is gone (maybe to just be spawned somewhere else or maybe totally dead, could be set up in a lot of ways).  This feature would really help those who do not have fast connections.

(As an aside, I originally thought of this idea but for guilds, with some restriction like you need at least 4 members on the titan to be able to kill it, but I realize that would make it very difficult for smaller or less active guilds.  But then again, not every feature of this game has to be available to everyone, but is probably a different debate)

Anyway, I hope this thread can lead to some creative discussion.  A big item to discuss is what the reward for killing the titan is.  Could be an epic item, or could even be an epic chest.  Could be bound or unbound.  If several titans are created, could be resources which are used to create something.

SKIP TO THE SUMMARY IF YOU WANT TO AVOID MY DIATRIBE, lol.

This whole discussion kind of emerged off-topic on another post, but I really liked the idea.

Titans have developed in a way that well... they've developed, lol.

Nowadays, it's focused on Guild activity and I think that's great. However, I had completely forgotten about the seed of the idea that did indeed start via the Elementals and was more of an individual affair.

On a personal level, I was disappointed when the Krakaradon Tooth Harpoon came out, because I kind of hoped that the idea of weapons with stam gain being kept to these Elemental quest ideas would be maintained. For those that wished to do the quests and those that didn't. Everything "died" after the Aether Titan.

Any new influx would create a market and I don't think that's a bad thing. Maybe this is all "me me", but I really did like the quests and getting the items and blah, blah. I know I'm probably in the minority. I also liked the fact that nobody is barred from getting these items and that they were then integrated into making other stuff.

Does anybody actually do those quests anymore? I wonder. Prices have dropped on most, but... well, I wonder if players are self-sufficient or if anybody even asks about it anymore.

I especially like cramble's suggestion that the possible reward could be an Epic item or some type of chest or, well, anything or everything he suggested. I liked it simply because it's wide-open to possibilities without getting in so much to a particular outcome.

I'd focus on making prizes "level-relevant". If an Epic stam-gain item was to come out, it could be nerfed with respect to other things. It could also be an add-on as an ingredient to recipes from Arena or Ladder or wherever. Or a recipe could be the prize that then ties in with other stuff. Who knows? Maybe instead of the item being bound, the recipe could be destroyed after one use.

SUMMARY:

I like the suggestion. People gave the idea that they were clamoring for an individual challenge on a Titan level and likened it to the Elementals. It might be a win-win. (o0

I like this idea - very much.

I envision a new set of elemental quests that drop a different epic item (not a weapon).  Different levels to the existing weapons,  all the same item slot as the weapons were.  (Thus requiring all the quests to be done to upgrade to a higher level epic for that slot.)  500 kills required as for the weapon quests.

These quests could then be topped off with a new Titan in the pyramid that drops a blank which requires one of the new elemental epics to convert to a new epic (not a shield).

Coding for this should not be difficult or time consuming as it would be essentially the same as the elemental weapon quests, with just levels and items (and, sorry BG, story line) to be changed.

This would provide everyone with a new personal epic that they do not rely on their guild for, as well as something extra for EOC player to do.

Damn fine suggestion cramble :)

Like the idea but don't like the part about it slowly moving 1 square at a time. As I am one of those with a slow connection, the more it jumps, the better my chance in getting a whack or two in. I just park in a corner and wait for it to jump. With teleport, the advantage with sitting In a corner has been lessened but it still helps.

Lahona's comment about the storyline was something I was actually thinking about when this whole discussion came up even prior to the post itself.

The Elements have been used up...

I like this idea - instead of having the Titan confined to a map, let it be confined to a region and have players take stairways to the next region to find it again.  This could definitely help to add a layer of complexity to Titan hunting for all of those who think Teleport has made it too easy.

It could be set where it either uses the stairways so players know where to find it or travel off the edge so players have to find the correct staircase to the next area.  This could be a real challenge if they spawn in areas with maze-like maps.

I like your other ideas as well but kinda fixated on this one for the moment lol

It is my personal belief that new titans are needed and the old ones need to be put on the backburner for a while... Rotation of titans will allow items to keep their value, at least a little bit, since the intoduction of Titan Doubler has made earning Epics MUCH easier and MUCH less time consuming. Heck, I got lucky a lot of guilds were on cooldown a few mornings ago and Solo'ed the T-rex titan myself in about an hour and 15 minutes and about took about 6k stamina. HCS should have a process in place that rotates titans every quarter( every 3 months). This would make titans worth hunting again, help keep prices up(because everyone wants some value when they trade in their epic for a new one!), and keep competition for them alive. Right now many titans sit for days just waiting to be killed...

Thus speaks the merchant ;)

Folk LIKE buying these items cheaply ... and, let's be blunt here, if you don't think the items are worth hunting, don't hunt 'em. Others will. They still get killed eventually.

Actually, the slower kill time actually AIDS your request in so much as the longer they take to die, the longer it'll be before another of the same kind spawns and thus the fewer items will be in the marketplace :)

Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.

Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

Just put a level limit for all the titan (ex.seasonal) and see the game flourish. For example, Titan that is level 100 and below can only be hunted by player level 1~150 or so. If this is implement, the price for epic item will surely skyrocket and make the item more valuable.
