I can't say how the people who helped on this wiki feel, its kinda sad that the wiki wasn't kept with upmost importance just like the game..And i don't know if i believe the factor that the same fate couldn't happen to this game.
I feel as if the players who took that much time out of their lives to help out this game should be compensated somehow. Besides for a "Sorry for the inconvience" sticker slapped on it.

I think the following statement needs to be changed.
"You may find that a lot of the newer content is missing..." to "You WILL find that..."
Sigh. Its like going back to the ice age.

There should be some sort of incentive for editors to restore it back to what it was. I'm not sure how but it would be nice.

I've written several improvements to the wiki - templates, items, pots, maps, etc. - but surprisingly I don't feel any loss whatsoever (IDGTFFs). Maybe it's HCS' indirect way of finally killing the wiki and encouraging players to fully use UFSG from now on. Who knows?

Players know more about the game than the cows. Wiki had hand written guides about buffs and how they work with each other. There was a hand written guide for pretty much anything you wanted to know. There were guides that explained how stats worked. Recommended hunting setups which is pretty important. The list goes on. The ufsg has none of this. You have to have a base understanding of the game to use UFSG. Only real thing it's good for is looking up items for arena. Looking up hunting maps. Also quest guides for the new players. The Wiki can't even be compared to the UFSG it's totally different.
for most of that stuff I just ask my friends. the hunting setup list started at 300, useless to most new players. I'm sure there is/was useful info there, I just prefer UFSG or advice from others for my needs.
I'm not saying this isn't traumatic for some, I'm sure it is. I'm just saying there's more than one way to skin a cat (sorry to all kitties), and it's foolhardy to only rely only on one

I would say if people "shock" actually learnt to play the game there would be no need for such guides...

I use both Wiki and UFSG. Just like to point out UFSG is not 100% accurate as many may believe, including HCS. I discovered quite a few accidentally, mostly from searching the info needed for completing Daily Quest. I did In fact think about posting the error discovered before, as one effect of Daily Quest being introduced, but just didn’t get around doing it…I guess it’s appropriate to mention the error here now.
Just giving one example: The Classfication of creatrue Paladir Bramble on the Map is Vermin on the map
http://guide.fallens...w&realm_id=1761
But is in fact a Plant class as the Creature Guide shows

wiki and UFSG were, to me, like 2 drunk NPC characters in a bar
both had some good information, complimenting or in addition to the other, but neither one completely reliable
and now, staying within the world of role-playing; wiki has suffered some kind of head trauma and he's blacked out the last few years

It's like Bobby Ewing on Dallas, all over again LOL
Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.
Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?
I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

there are also critters in locations that no longer exist, and I always point out these anomolies. I have found that the same anomolies were in the wiki, which I have never been able to log into no matter how many times I generated a password. Which is why I've always relied heavily on the advice of my friends in the game if I don't know or have forgotten something. As I said earlier, you have to use more than one tool, and yes, sometimes they are less than reliable.
it's going to take a group effort to rebuild the wiki, and poor BG will have to make any changes to the guide, but also we need to not only communicate with each other, but also use our brains to figure some stuff out.

I’m certainty aware Wiki isn’t 100% complete & accurate which is why I use both and also searching the forum from time to time. Exactly what duktayp had said ‘both had some good information, complimenting or in addition to the other, but neither one completely reliable’
I’m more incline to mention the anomalies (better term than error) in the UFSG for HCS’s attention as only them have the access to make change to the UFSG. I can understand anything new not being added too soon to the UFSG like the new SE the game just got introduced. But for things created much earlier best if reliable. Not trying to harry HCS to make fix, just want to let them know anomalies do exist in the UFSG.

Losing wiki information sucks.
How much of this is due to photobucket though? So much info in the wiki is now a gray photobucket pic.
Could that have interfered with the server hosting?
The composing page is now crippled, and I liked it. The hunting set up page is now crippled and I liked it.
They were simple, straighforward pages that newbs could use easily.
UFSG has nothing like them.
I loved the wiki to 500, it totally guided my kicking ass through the levels. I didn't use it much after then.
But I kept coming back, here and there, to check stuff out.
I feel terrible for the people who took the time to update information over the last three years.
I used that info, and shared it with my guildies. It helped new players understand the game.
But what is done is done. If it could be retrieved, it would have been.
BONUS!! Things really can be lost on the internet! The NSA is not reading my emails from 1997! Because server failure! Yay!
Good-bye and hello, as always.

Quick question to HCS about TUFSG. Could on the map areas you put the X,Y cords under the stairs (like you have the creatures sort of). Link to the critter and under it, the classification of it (as a text). Mostly I used the Wiki to find the stairs I needed to go from level to level but, since it's got a brain fart and lost it's marbles around 1,925, that's out of the question. As for the Wiki beig brought back with maps to where it was, I have no idea how long it took folks to do it but, it must have been weeks.
As for people putting the Wiki back together again.....Humpty Dumpty situation perhaps? Or are their FS players out their that like to try to paint a landscape under a microscope on a grain of rice for I fear the work would be far greater then the end result would give (and heaven forbid it happen again and the Wiki got toasted once more).
Only glad I didn't buy the $100.00 uSD Elite pack and waited to see what was wrong with the Wiki. I would have spent that money and no way to use it on the game right now. Perhaps a simple fix to TUFSG or if anyone else can give me a solution to the issue, let me know. Now, as my rank in my guild says, I'm off to attack and conquer another cup of coffee....Blue Mountaan Peek anyone?

On top of that. I am having a hard time finding my way around the maps today. Leveling on my phone just got three times harder without the wiki. Don't know if the Cows realize how bad they shot themselves in the foot for future players

Will the material that has been lost on the wiki be replaced or is it lost forever? Also, can the Ultimate Fallen Sword Guide be updated with a hunting list set guide, like the wiki was?

seeing as how that list was close to being outdated anyway. You are better off using others. Try thisWill the material that has been lost on the wiki be replaced or is it lost forever? Also, can the Ultimate Fallen Sword Guide be updated with a hunting list set guide, like the wiki was?

I too would like to see a list of stairways on the Maps in the Guide. Newer players complain to me about that the most. +1Quick question to HCS about TUFSG. Thank you all for trying to rebuild the wiki hopefully we can make it better this time "Gone but not forgotten" FS WIKI
