================
Love
Love is a cat
warm, cozy
sleeping contentedly, purring in a sunlit room
Love is a rose
drenched with morning dew
but.....
Love is pain
agonizing, gut-wrenching
Soul-shattering pain
to love is to need
to leave oneself open to injury
love is vulnerability
Love
Love is a white dove
alight on a windowsil
grab it
break its wings
tear out its heart
watch it bleed
then weep as it withers and turns to ash, to dust
scattered on the wind
Love.....
Love is a bouquet of flowers
placed on a grave
as a reminder of what once was
or what might have been
Love is a smile, a wink, a sigh
a seductive fragrance or voice
a flickering flame
a taste.....
Love is a million, billion, trillion things
and slips through your fingers if you let it
like sand in an hourglass
and you ask, "where did it go?"
Love
What is Love to me?
neither friend nor foe
but a noding acquaintance
I can take it or leave it
I'd rather take it
out for tea, maybe
with cherry cheesecake
and sweet onion crisps
and naughty bits
love.....

chocolate
dark, rich and creamy
smoothe and satiny
like Heaven (or Devil's Food)
but I didn't want to risk anyone drooling on their comps.

Fat Cat sat
on his front porch mat
and laughed as folks walked by
White Cat
strolled on and he let out a cry
"hey there White Cat, come sit on this mat
and watch the day go by."
"Oh no," said she, "I've places to be,
but you can always come with me."
"Oh no," said Fat
"I'm just fine on this mat."
and that was that
Gray Cat and Brown Cat
went by that brick flat
and spied Fat on his mat
"Come on now Big Man, take a walk and see Stan,
he's playin' at the Tin Pan!"
But the old Fat Cat
he said, "Oh no, not that. Night will fall soon,
and I'll bask in the Moon
right here on my mat."
and that was that
Friday night, what a sight
the whole gang went by
White Cat and Brown Cat
Gray Cat and Black Cat
Cali-Co and even Tyger too
they were dressed to paint the town
Fat Cat sat on his front porch mat
and they met him with a frown
"Hey old Fat Cat! Get your ass off that mat!
And come on down to The Station!
Sweet Cat and Fly Dog are livin' high on the hog,
there's a party, and great Jubilation!"
But all he would say was
"You all go on your way, and I'll catch you another day
when you can stay."
Monday mornin', no lie
the gang gave a sigh
they went passed the brick flat
and found a New Cat
where old Fat Cat had sat
He was Red, and they said, "Now where's that Old Fat?"
"Oh he's dead," said Red,
"he just sat on this mat
and let his life pass him on by."
"Well, that's sad," they all cried,
"that old Fat Cat died,
but that was the way he chose.
Now, get up, New Cat Red," the whole gang said,
"We're off to the Park, just on a lark
to hear Big Muddy sing."
'tis a wonderful thing,' thought that Red Cat
as he jumped off that mat
He never looked back
and that was that.

You love her
But she loves him
And he loves somebody else
You just can't win
And so it goes
Till the day you die
This thing they call love
It's gonna make you cry
I've had the blues
The reds and the pinks
One thing for sure
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah

wicked hunger on a primal level
pour that nectar over me
how naughty can I be
first a wink and a little giggle
then a kiss and a little wiggle
just a hint of what I got
do you wanna know how hot
catch me now out on the dance floor
shake with me now do you want more
see this evil grin on my face
you sure you wanna come back to my place
close the door strip down to our skin
stoke this fire ready to begin
don't be scared baby you just fine
now I shift...slide...and make you mine
sugar demon sweet little devil
wicked hunger on a primal level
pour that nectar over me
now you know how naughty can I be

MOUNTAIN
One Last Cold Kiss
Felix Pappalardi
~December 30, 1939 – April 17, 1983~
Two island swans mated for life,
And his faithful heart would not consider any other wife.
For three years peaceful joy midst the rushes of the pond,
Proud and gentle was the loving of the last two island swans.
Their love was like a circle, no beginning and no end,
With his lady by his side a treasure and best friend.
And the pond was all so peaceful with the rising of the sun,
Young and free like the island breeze their life was just begun.
'Til a dread day in November when the searing cold did start,
Stalked the hunter with his bow, he put an arrow through her heart.
Husband come to my side let your feathers warm my pain,
For I feel I will not spend another day with you again.
And the cold winds blow,
He was brave but he's laid low.
By her body in the isle of mist,
I saw him give her one last cold kiss, one last cold kiss.
Of swans the people talk of only one in this days tide,
They brought him twenty ladies he would take no other bride.
They say he will not move from the place where she did fall,
Once so proud he's beaten now, he will not speak at all.
And the cold winds blow,
He was brave but he's laid low.
By her body in the isle of mist,
I saw him give her one last cold kiss, one last cold kiss.
"In the end, you will always kneel."
"Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye."

~Imagine~
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

~Riders on the Storm~
Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house we're born
Into this world we're thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor out alone
Riders on the storm
There's a killer on the road
His brain is squirmin' like a toad
Take a long holiday
Let your children play
If ya give this man a ride
Sweet memory will die
Killer on the road, yeah
Girl ya gotta love your man
Girl ya gotta love your man
Take him by the hand
Make him understand
The world on you depends
Our life will never end
Gotta love your man, yeah
Wow!
Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house we're born
Into this world we're thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor out alone
Riders on the storm

Two wonderful people I care deeply about are in dark times and I can do nothing for either of them except send them healing energy.....and this morning I woke to the horrible news that a personal hero of mine has been slain. I can't help but wish my Mother were here because I could always turn to her when I was sad and grieving.
This was one of my Mom's favorite songs, and somehow, listening to it now almost gives me some kind of comfort.
So I share.
The Moody Blues
~Nights In White Satin~
Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.
'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Gazing at people,
Some hand in hand,
Just what I'm going thru
They can understand.
Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end,
And I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.
Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.
'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.
"In the end, you will always kneel."
"Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye."

Spring days are gone
Summer plans were made
but Winter hangs above us
and Old Lions fade
Heroes of the past
become ghosts of the future
What's left to say
when the die's been cast?
Battles fought, some lost some won
wounds kindly tended
But all warriors are made even
when the day is done
Roses on the hill
and clover in the glen
The pipes, the pipes, they call you home
we'll not pass this way again
Spring days are gone
Summer plans were made
but Winter hangs above us
and Old Lions fade

Bless the beasts and the children
for in this world they have no voice
they have no choice
Bless the beasts and the children
for the world can never be
the world they see
Light their way
when the darkness surrounds them
give them love
let it shine all around them
Bless the beasts and the children
give them shelter from a storm
keep them safe
keep them warm

One Hundred Minutes
is all the sun will shine today
but that's ok
Twenty minutes less than two hours
One Hundred Minutes
tick by quickly and disappear
but I've no fear
because they're spent with you, my dear
and that makes them timeless
"In the end, you will always kneel."
"Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye."
