- Inactive players will be hidden from all the top rated pages.
So when this gets implemented, will players get ticks to their medal if they fall into the monthly top 10?

I thought they were already hidden from the pages.
Nope, and over half of them on my top 100 list are inactives or terms. OMG, I FINALLY made top 100!

I still believe it's not a good idea to simply cancel a part of the rich history of this game. Should we forget Muhammad Ali aka Cassius Clay just because he's not active anymore? These players are the history of FS!
If I remember well, during the last discussion about this issue I proposed to have two lists: one top-rated list of currently active players and a Hall of Fame of the all-time best players. This is a compromise that gives new players a chance without ignoring/discarding the history of the game.
Remember Phool even if Phool's Paradise has become a quiet place ...

And how does this effect the Guild top rated? GvG, Titans? Will inactive guilds be bumped out as well?

Seeing as how GvG and Titan hunting, etc are very active parts of this game, it seems to me that inactive guilds should be pushed way down the lists and passed up quickly. The same goes for levels, richness and what have you, only activity can move a guild up, and constant inactivity will soon knock such guilds off these lists. At least that seems a logical outcome to me.

The only single regret I have in this game is not having requested Phool as an ally. Please reread that.
That said, nostalgia is for ally lists. Some Guilds decide to keep members out of that sense of nostalgia and I respect that. though I still wonder if the XP contributed is included... I'd kick that out except for the gold sink effect.
However, I sincerely disagree that programming needs to be changed so some may be remembered. I respect and agree with Angel's Keep. Beyond that, the suggestion that more programming should be done is, simply silly.
If FS lasts another 8 years, then none of them would theoretically be in the top lists anyway.
That said, the data SHOULD be saved for the simple case of a Phoenix medal miracle. In that case, they will return and maintain what they worked for.
Otherwise, "brown dots" are just "brown dots". Let them continue to drain gold for those that think nostalgia is worth it.

- Experience gain for creature kills for players under level 100 increased.
Bad idea...I'm not even sure why this is on here, The experience gain is fine...add that to not being able to afford gear due to the boost in exp you got people quitting even sooner, and makes no difference until you fix the biggest problem of all...and that's having players below level 100 to begin with. You want to tweak something tweak the gold gain from creatures for all levels so we can afford to buy gear....we need low level population...as previously stated just start everyone at level 100 save us all the charade if your going to keep avoiding the real problem

I do not usually post on the forums but this is pretty big so it has my attention
Inactive players will be hidden from all the top rated pages.
i have been working very hard to get to my top 10 monthly (im not there yet _ aug '07)
sure i wouldnt mind getting in sooner - however - I have to disagree
Perfect items will be hidden on the crafting page. -
also want option to turn this off in preferences - we have some items in game that were better NOT crafted or low craft when forged - and we would like the option to reroll a perfect item if needed
Experience gain for creature kills for players under level 100 increased.
can we maybe scale it down from say level 75 - 100 - so the change is not so dramatic when they reach lvl 100 - you could increase gold gain too - as they will need to purchase different gear or pots - sooner and gold on a lvl 100 player is not likely to influence the market too much
these are good ideas - however they are just ideas - make sure time is taken to come up with the correct solution

I don't think that much more programming would be needed. What we have now is already an all-time Hall of Fame. Instead of replacing that by a top-ranked list of active players, the latter could simply be added while renaming the current list to "Hall of Fame". The new top-ranked list has to be implemented anyway; the Hall of Fame already exists. I simply propose: don't remove it, keep it.
Sure, in a few years none of the now inactive players would remain in the Hall of Fame-type list anyway, but as long as they keep the "world record" I'd say they have earned it. Medals can be based on the top-rated active players (which makes sense), but world records are independent of activity ... or should only people who were lucky enough to see Muhammad Ali's/Cassius Clay's fights live know about his existence?
I'm generally in favor of basing medals on an activity-based top-ranked list, but I would really regret to loose the current Hall of Fame, including the lists on which I stilll have no standing because I have not earned it (and maybe never will have).

As mentioned last year, we're certainly going to be looking at a number of changes to the start of the game, we definitely appreciate the feedback on changes such as the improved experience for low level players and the potential gold issue. I'll discuss this with the team in our next meeting.
As for top lists, once inactive players are removed, players within the top 100 will indeed be counted for medal ticks.
As for hiding perfect items, I'm sure this could be done as an preference

Was wondering if it was possible to set items to frag but not resources. I farm plants for people sometimes and it gets annoying when I have to discard items constantly. I wish to solely focus on farming and not have to worry about anything else.

Another good one Bloody!
There's my positive comment. For the update, it seems to me that it's bells and whistles. And for increasing the xp gain to those below level 100, just how fast DO folk need to level? Reading the other comments, and by my own guild experience, it seems that no one has any problem in getting there as quickly as they want.
I appreciate the update though.

Sorry, but it was colder up here in Canada the last few days than it was on Mars. Minus 40 and minus 45 celcius because of the windchill...
On a side one... does anyone live anywhere tropical (where the temperature doesn't go below 24 degrees celcius) that would rent me a room/house/condo/appartment so I can excape this insane Canadian cold? My currency is this Canadian maple bacon
