I like the idea of removing the skill tree.
That would free up 25 skills points for me as I don't use Rage or Absorb but the skills after them.

Especially "funny" that you need 10 points in Rage to get Fury but you need 15 points in Rage to get Bloodthirst...

15 is a lot of Skill Points, especially if you have to put 15 in Rage before Bloodthirst...it delays max input by 3 levels!

I'm torn here - the selfish me says "remove the requirements", but the rpg-gamer me says "add them for high-level skills as well", making a real skill tree there.

I agree it would be nice to have a proper tree, however as this is unlikely to get implemented, getting rid of the few existing links seems logical.

totaly agree with this one Phool.

They either need to link all the skills or none at all.

I wuld prefer the none option as it doesnt penalise you for wanting specific skills

Wow - I'm surprised we're getting votes to extend the skill tree. I thought this would be a no-brainer - stupid phool that I am lol.

Can those who want to have the tree extended please give reasons for this choice? I thought everyone would find the extra skill points very useful...

I voted for removing the links.

And yeah, we need a skill reset with that... specially since the new potions just broke the balance between skills I want to get and skills I can get elsewhere easily - we should get a reset when potions like that are added, but I'm going off-topic... :P

Thanks for your time.

I cant believe this is getting No votes. It is a waste of skill points to make us put them in skills that we dont want or need.

It also is strange that it is only certain skills which just shows that it isnt something even the developers thought was a good idea lol.

I want it gone almost as bad as i want the B2B and GvG functions of the game gone.

I'm of two thought processes here. First, I agree with original thinking here. The 10 skill points (or 15 or whatever) is a trivial cost of getting the next skill. So, it's silly as is. Second, the rp part of me says what about...

If you needed to MASTER (100 skill points) the first to get the next it would make sense. This would make buffers be "specialists". As compensation, maybe every 10 points of rage converts to a 1 point "bonus" in fury etc. If this was implemented - you'd need the tree to have much more interdependency. It would make buffers more specialist. Why not need AL to get LIB and need both to get Doubler and Doubler to get Conserve...

Any change in either direction should come with at least a partial skill reset though. I think a change in this tree (in either direction) that led to 100 fsp to fix the skills set under old rules would be unfair.

How about this alternate solutions - right now skill trees only mean special requirments. How about we get actual interactions - like in D2 1.10:

Example: you get 10% of all your points in fury and rage added as effect to beserker. so, if you have 150 points in rage and 150 in fury, you get an extra 30 points added to your Berserk.

Same for Holy flame and Enchant Weapon. And so on.

If you want people to build coherent skill trees, make it worth it.

As far as I can see there is no point in carrying on the skill trees......cause they start at lvl 25.....and some people (at lvl 25) do not know what skills they want at lvl 300....their game play may change....then they are stuck on a path to a skill they ultimately do not want.....or on the other hand....you may want a certain buff at lvl 300, but the only way to get there is to waste points in buffs you don't care about.

Have to say that getting rid of the linked skills is a great idea. I really never did like the idea of having to get one I don't want or need to be able to get one that I actually would like to have. And the thought of a skill reset gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside.....or maybe that's the booze...either way, I really like this idea.

I agree, skill tree is now even logical or anything. Not like related skilles are put together.

I vote for removal:)

This isn't bad... also you can make it so you have to spend 30 points in 1 level to go to the next... as well as that... you can make the skills better, so that people wouldn't consider it a waste... or even... add some PASSIVE SKILLS!!!
