I will reiterate since there has been no discussion regarding my point.! The name mugger medal is inappropriate. It has a completely negative undertone to it and casts anyone who earns it as a villain. There are to many threads that breakdown into a debate against between PvP players and levelers calling this a mugging medal will only add credence to the levelers argument that PvP players are hurting the game.

Complainers are always going to complain because they believe they can play a game online with lots of other people, and be left alone to play their way and pick and chose which aspects of the game they want to participate in

If gold stealing is a valid part of Fallen Sword (which it always has been) it should not be overlooked by the medal system which acknowledges Levelling, Gold Hoarding, Questing, Titaning, Laddering, Bounty Hunting, Smashing, Arena'ing - just pretend it's a real word -, and Turning .. up (loyalty medals)

Thieving, Relic Capturing (and even defending) and GvG'ing are long overdue some shineys, for all those who care about such things

Don't forget medals for inventing and merchanting

Here's the thing, stealing gold IS the equivalent to mugging irl, only its not illegal here. We attack someone, beat them down, and steal their money, and anybody who feels that Gold Stealing hurts the economy, doesnt understand how the economy of Fallensword works.

Chances are, this medal wont be called a Mugger's Medal when its released, so you dont have to worry

Secondly, maybe Gold Seeker or Midas

Thirdly, had a partially related but mostly unrelated idea while trying to think of a name:

Gold Sinking medal: earned by sinking gold by any method: special auction house, potion bazaar, hell forge, shops, portals, market place listing fees, PvP (gold lost but not stolen), gold upgrades etc

Medal can be called as Gold lovers medal, that should be sweet and kind enough, name does matter to me..lol as long as gold is taken by attacking other players only!!!!! This is PVP medal.

How many moon would you be prepared to do? I jest of course, just havin a bit o fun with all this

Back on topic, I have been trying to think of a downside to this suggestion and I personally can't think of any. As a leveler its really up to me to keep my gold to a minimum so as not to attract unwanted attention from a PvP specialist. Or be wearing a good defensive set up with adequate buffage to make a PvP player think twice about hitting me if my gold on hand is a bit on the high side. Both of these are within my control so if i choose not to do either of these and have high gold on hand I would call myself " Fair Game ".

If its " Fair Game " then its an aye for the " Muggers Medal "

One thing though. Would a decay % be required on the medal if a Top 250 list was introduced as suggested in the original post?

Its the same thing as it is now. Just a Medal to promote additional PvP.

I hunted yesterday, and got 500k with 3k stam. I was anxious while waiting for my gold to sell for FSP. I have the gear and buffs to have a chance to defend myself, but you never know what can happen

I voted yes as I am a gold hunter. However, I think that lower level players will have an advantage at earning this medal legitimately. I say this because as you level up there are fewer and fewer gold targets, at least gold targets worth hitting given the extremely low theft rate these days. But I am still in favor of this kind of medal being introduced into the game, I just wish that it could somehow be made retroactive given my current lack of decent targets.

Then frankly, don't be upset when others try and push PvP out of the game. It should not be thought of as criminal, it's not. This is just a game, but to reward specific gameplay with a medal that's name has a criminal connotation can be construed as rewarding criminal behavior.

The medal is a good idea, the name just feeds into the Hatfields and McCoys, sorry, I mean levelers and pvpers.

Have some common sense even just suggesting it be called a muggers medal is asinine.

I meant There is a consequence for your actions. What would this "Jail" do? Prevent you from doing ANYTHING in FS? Why? What would it achieve? We are trying to get more PvP, not less

The part I have highlighted I agree with. But the rest, sorry, no way. Can't use the term muggers in an online game? Are you serious?

Are there not Mobs called " Pirates ". This is an illegal activity. Must this be removed too? Come on man, like you say....." This is just a game ".

With all due respect, maybe you should actually read and comprehend what is being written. I am 100% in favor of medal like this being introduced.

HOWEVER, I feel that calling it a Mugger's Medal, even here in preliminary stages of a suggestion is irresponsible. There are far to many threads that have even a little to do with PvP, that devolve into an argument consisting of extremist views. There are many attempts to bring this game into the real world and call PvP a crime against it. This is NOT how I feel, but naming this medal after petty criminal activity is just shortsighted.
