Maybe after the ggt I'll do a 'new artists' tournament, small pot, requiring all artists to use gimp (since it is free so it is even footing for program) and provide a stock and a tutorial for each round.

You never know someone might cheat and use photoshop. The best way to deal with that would be to disqualify all entries that are not text slaps, since gimp must be really bad.

Isn't there a working version file that can be saved? Might be a pain but could ask folks to upload that too. I don't actively use either program so I'm not sure on the details there, might need a hand if it comes down to looking at editing files.

Lets see how GGT goes and if we're all burnt out before making a definite on this.

I kinda put it out there so that a. I won't forget about it, and b. to see if anyone else thought it was a good idea or could poke holes in it

Since the tutorials would all be gimp oriented it would put a crimp on newer artists trying to do the same things using photoshop. * I'll need some help finding some good gimp tutorials. Thinking different styles to get the artists stretching some muscles.

TF lets put this straight GIMP is Cr*p and you use PS so its pretty easy for me to Lose

Again your whinning, I have won a few contests.....yes... I use 3 different programs to get the results i want.
1) Photoscape (free on-line)
2) Gimp (also free on-line)
3) Photo Explosion Deluxe (a photo editing program I bought over 5yrs ago{actually it was bought in 2004})
I am semi-retired & no income or unemployment coming in so "I can't afford" PS
SO FRIGGING WHATI still enter the contests... sometimes i win most times I don't but I don't whine about it in the forums fishing for complements.

BTW I'm in this contest! I wasn't able to get in the others before but, I am now.

As for programs, I use one (Picture-it! 99 *the ! is part of the name lol* ) that the particular version I have was released in 98. It hasn't been available for purchase since 2005(if I remember right), and I know of absolutely no one else who has it or who has even heard of it. Funny thing is I made it to the final 4 for the 3rd GGT. The program I use doesn't have all the bells and whistles that even GIMP has, let alone that PS has. Odd isn't it that I can still produce half way decent art.

if anyone needs Photoshop/ImageReady pm me, i have every version of ps from cs2-cs6,and elements 3-10.
also have dreamweaver ,but doubt anyone needs that.
(cs2 with ImageReady is the best imho).
