Even in its thinned out condition, I still use wiki, it's my go to quickie for information.
I would like to say thank you to everyone who has decided to give it a spit and spin polish and good fleshing out.
Thank you.

Gold / Kill peaks at about Level 310 or so - and then drops again twice - once at 1601 (from average 300g / kill with no doubler/mer/th to 250g / kill) and then again at at 1626 (down another 50g / kill to an average of 200g / kill)

My suggestion would be to start at the beginning......Just because those of us that have been around a bit longer know some of the work arounds......New players would benefit greatly having the Wiki back. We need new blood in here from time to time and if we can help them navigate the game it's a win win =)

Not being a regular visitor, I have no clear idea about what was lost and what remains. I would suggest starting with the basics, for example, hunting setups, composing and arena tips, maybe a little helpful information for the player who just finished the tutorial, ie how to find a guild and a mentor, when and where to start with the epic quests, how to use the UFSG to navigate in conjunction with the wiki, cuz face it, even if it's fully recovered, you really need to use both for some things. Get with BG to replace HCS based images where needed.

Another thing the wiki needs are Egami's tips for hunting globals, and tips for completing DQ's, such as where are the LE's out 24/7, where to find Elites and Champs, simple items everybody can invent, what critters are best to hunt for break down quests. You can glean the best information about these topics from forum threads about them.

Sorry to bump this post. I quite like the wiki and think its very useful. I am not sure what happened to erase 4 years of work. Could somebody explain? I've been going through the pages and its very easy to fix them from an image standpoint.
A bad image looks like this: "http://huntedcow.cac...tiles/7_49.gif"
A good image looks like this: "http://cdn.fallensword.com/tiles/7_49.gif"
I've fixed a handful of pages towards the beginning of content in a short amount of time. Essentially, I just edit the source, copy it, paste it into a text editor and execute a find and replace.
find: huntedcow.cachefly.net/fs
replace: cdn.fallensword.com
Then paste it back onto the page. It's very easy and quick. Would this be helpful to anyone if I began to fix the wiki?
I am also thinking that there is a chance I could make a bot that goes to every page and executes the find and replace instead of manually doing this. PointyHair could probably do something like this fairly quickly. He should definitely take over if he wants to. I am just finishing up some exams but could look into programming a bot if he does not have the time to invest. I'm studying to be a software engineer but have no done any web based programming like this before so it should be a fun learning experience.
Also, can anyone from HCS let me know if this sort of automation is frowned upon? I know having a bot play fs is bad, but can I try to develop one that would fix the wiki?

Because they royally messed up in about every way possible. Very useful info on wiki that ufsg can't parse is searching drinkable potions and potions in chests. Right now that's pretty broke would love to see that fixed.
As far as i see it as long as it's not playing the game for you just enhancing the experience IE QoL it's fine according to zorgs script post.
Scripts to make life easier are fine, scripts that play the game for you are not. The automation of things like hunting and player vs player combat will not be allowed.
But to be extra safe you can ticket the cows with the code and they can approve it. A bot to scrape data and import it to wiki would be great but would be slightly complex. Likely would be better off doing it by hand if you have to "try" to do it. Would take a lot more time trying to figure it out then doing it by hand. Each instance would have to be tweaked as well there is no one size fits all solution.
The problem with the UFSG isn't because of the lack of information, everything more or less is generally on there it's just that there isn't a toggle for everything.
Other than the chests/buffs/potions/etc... Most of the valuable information we lost on the wiki was guides and unique information and you can't really automate guides... We are treading on the lines of AI there and i'll be damned if you can conjure that up. HCS likely would want to hire you ofcourse only if your AI tags along so they can work it to death.

Ah, I wasn't aware that guides were lost. I was under the impression it was just that all of the image links were broken

I started a new topic not knowing this was already here even though i searched "edit wiki" in the forums. That said, i would be willing to help rebuild the wiki i think it is worth saving and worth the time invested, i also think the cow should help with the easiest ways to fix all the broken images as they are responsible for the loss to begin with.I joined the RSWiki and went for a
stroll through the options allowed and i am at a complete loss as to how and where to start.Check my posting and see what i need help with,Thanks ad i look forward to helping any way that i am able.

A lot of Vital Information is missing especially towards the higher levels. And much of the information that is on there already for the low-level players is inaccurate. Three to four years of information that was on the wiki was erased.
