The Griffin is amalgamation of lion and eagle gains in courage and boldness. It is used to denote strength and military courage and leadership. Griffins are portrayed with a lion's body, an eagle's head, long ears, and an eagle's claws, to indicate that one must combine intelligence and strength. Griffins not only mated for life, but also, if either partner died, then the other would continue throughout the rest of its life alone, never to search for a new mate (hope you'll never leave your guild ) He is standing on an obelisk which is synonymous for protection or defense. On the left side of obelisk there is a Celtic triquetra symbol (to much to write, so… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triquetra) and on top there is a border representing infinity. Pyramids represent something Godly, everlasting. And last but not least, there are some skeleton warriors (undead = eternal). I did my home work

do we need to explain what we did?
It wouldn’t be bad to give us some insight to how and why you believe this is a good avi for TEW.
Helping us understand your concept(s) is something every artist should be willing to do. (I also think it will make it more interesting in general)
As a matter of fact I think it should be part of all submissions.

So, for my first submission, i picked an obelisk to use, which symbolizes protection and defense, as well a place where the life-giving Egyptian god Ra was believed to live in the mortal world and were mostly placed in wide areas or in front of temples (which would both be an ideal landscape for an avatar). I wanted though to have a more unknown and mystical element in it (kinda like your old guild avatar which is pompous and majestic, yet with lightnings that were worshiped in the old days as deities, so i used a combination of images and drawings of the big bang, and both the births and deaths of stars to light the obelisc from behind (though i feel i kinda overdid it there). Some finishing touches were given with (what i believe as) a beautiful combination of celtic symbols like Triquetras, Triple Spirals (symbolism of power through transition and growth - kinda female though), Arwens (symbolism of male and female energy and their balance), Spirals (symbolism of growth) and Double Spirals (symbolism of balance and equinox) and Five-Folds (symbolism of the four elements and balance between them) .... Which sums up to nearly all the Celtic Symbolisms.
I hope you like my first submission, I'll start working on others as soon as i complete some other contest entries i'm working on...

All I noticed in a view month of making pictures is: -personal taste counts-
And after your justice, even the lousiest or the mainstreamiest can win.
Well here is something to judge.
See the traditional 4 Elements with a funny buffed Gamer inside. ENJOY

it's a mixed concept, i'm getting lazy to explain it.. lol
but the main focus is Ouroboros.
The Ouroboros (or Uroborus) is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. It comes from the Greek words oura (Greek ουρά) meaning "tail" and bόros (Greek βόρος) meaning "eating", thus "he who eats the tail".
The Ouroboros often represents self-reflexivity or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end (the mythical phoenix has a similar symbolism). It can also represent the idea of primordial unity related to something existing in or persisting before any beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished.
from wikipedia..
anyway, i hope you like it..

Well I'm not to great with words and don't talk much ,but I'll try to explain it.
The members of TEW never really fall ,but are reborn like the phoenix becoming stronger and wiser to rejoin thier teamates.
