Enough talk about the weather, maybe we should stay on topic? :P

 

Have all the ideas from the previous Dev Update all fallen away (ie the one at the beginning of December, about the stam gain and various improvements)?

 

All great updates expect for: "Experience gain for creature kills for players under level 100 increased." Nothing should be changed or even better, the gold dropped should increase for these levels.

Experience gain for creature kills for players under level 100 increased. <-- Why? you can get to level 100 in 2 days currently if you plan it right by doing the epic quests, I m unsure this will help keep players in the game after they start, more likely they will just get even more frustrated when they get to level 100 and find the game gets exponentially harder...

 

If it is scaled in a smooth way that tapers to the current XP gain, then I doubt it will make anything worse. Kitobas' cousin would merely have made it to level 180, or 190..., in 5 hours before the same reality hit.

 

If, however, this is done in a way that creates a step change around 100, then I agree it is likely to create unhelpful frustration.

 

Perhaps a better idea (as well or instead of increasing XP from creatures below 100) would be to release reserve stamina at a number of well publicised stages, say every 50 levels up to level 200 or 250. This could be just splitting the starting reserve stam that is (still, I think) available to new players, but it might also be good just to give more of it.

 in the old FSHelper, on the screen about « quick buffs » when a buff was done, it appeared in an other color;

may be the new version could be modify & include a little « check » beside the buffs already done,

or a new color for it...

 

It could help to see fastly which buffs are already actived.

When you have the buff screen open just click the players name you are buffing and you can see the buffs they have on that you have.

it was nice to see the buffs in a different color that were already active on a player... nice request =)

I don't know if your last update caused this..but now ALL items show up for extraction..whether they can be extracted or not..any way of fixing it so non extractable items are omitted ?

When I right click on items in my backpack, non-extractable items do not have that as an option. Are you perhaps using the FS Helper script? If so, you might want to disable it and check again.

 

Oh and also, this thread is just a "here's what we have planned" thread; they haven't actually made the changes yet. ;) So nothing listed in the OP could have affected your extractable/non-extractable items.

I mentioned two of the points from before December at the bottom of the thread, with the server issues we had before Christmas the changes to Stamina and Graphical improvements were delayed. Based on negative feedback, however I think we're planning to leave the stamina how it is and just improve the look of the screen when you run out of stamina in a future patch with the other mentioned graphic improvements such as level up effects etc.

I think that removing the inactives from the top list is a great idea, if a "hall of fame" can be added easily im all for it, but lets definately let them have their placing back if they return........as for the changes to players under 100, what is the point in this? i came through lev 100 back in 2008 and it seemed to be quite fast back then, and if im not mistaken youve made it faster since then, why do they need to hury to 100 so much? 1-100 was where i learned the game basics and things like what buffs were needed, now they are lev 100 on their 2nd day and still know nothing about the game....perhaps iv missed some previous post explaining why it was a good idea to increase the speed at which they get to 100 but i think its too fast already, wisking players off to the mystical land of 100 isnt going to retain players any longer it just makes them 90 levels higher when they quit if they dont like the game.....what you need is some way to get new players more interactive with current players so they can get in a guild and around others to interact with and learn from IMO

Please do not do something silly as increasing gold gain for lower levels. It will not fix anything. It was said that players cannot afford gear, which may be true, but is that a problem?

Or is the problem that the free accessible gear within the game is no good? (sets from champions and elites...)

 

Fix the stuff that is really broke. And make your efforts (like designing that gear) pay off instead of creating 1000s of useless items.

When I started playing, there was no guild tagging yet, and I used Commons and Rares up until a friend loaned me a Legendary set when I was level 70+. This was back when it took a couple months to get there (only 500 stamina to start, no reserve stamina, Epic quests or booster codes, etc.). There's nothing wrong with the free gear from creatures in early levels. :)

 

Plus with the Plague monster out all the time now, players can hunt their own Plague set once they get to that level.  :D

i agree with dav on this, if you were to do this it should be all the way to 500, not like most buffs you gain (lvl 175 buffs at xp lvl 500) have great worth anyway so why not help em to a bit more decent level, 500 is much closer to eoc, a better level to titan hunt, arena and bounty hunt etc to try out the game more if they got there sooner and gives more incentive to think well maybe i CAN get there(eoc) and is plenty of time to become aware that leveling will REALLY slow up without bumping max stam and using global pots or donating pots :)

 

nothing should really be given too easily but 500 levels aint much with the struggle itll take a really casual player to get to lvl 2400+ which is what most rpg'ers do ... level ;)

i agree 100 levels would be alot if EoC was 600-700 but eoc is ticking towards 2500 now no point in making only the first 100 levels easier if there are 2400 other levels following it.

Personally if i was to just join the game now i would be very discouraged to keep playing seeing that EoC is practically impossible to catch up to.

Yes, it's a long way ahead of new players but, to me, that just says there's LOADS of game already for me to play ...

With no access to other LE gear plague would last say round 50, perhaps a bit more. We do want players to play beyond that do we? And let's also keep in mind the other aspects in the game. Most elite gear is not worth hunting, with a couple of exceptions. I was very happy with my Girath set back in the day. :)

I never had a plague set, my first LE gear was Cerberus stuff that I managed to get during an event. Never was happier to get an item than then. :)

 

My comment was mainly against the suggested gold increase due to not being able to buy good gear. Therefore it would be better to improve the current elite stuff instead of getting even more gold into the game.

you are correct but after a few months and levels start slowing up, or even 9 months in they will start thinking wow this will take forever, 1000 would be more helpful but then why bother having the first 1k levels, its all rather defeatist but i think many, i say many cos not all, would rather get to a "big looking" number like 500 quickly they then will prob feel like theyve got somewhere or even made a dint, id bet most would look at it and go TWO THOUSAND levels TWO spell it out T H O U S etc, holy crap that is too big of a number and does my head in, lot of people "have" ADHD apparently these days, why uber pots and stuff giving us 150k damage just make it all a lil too riduculous, boundaries are probably a good thing :)

I would say, whatever the answer is, it's too many - given that they should have been stopped ages ago and are still spawning (leastwise, Granny is .... )
