Instant death for rangers farming at landfall now....  Storm aoe was only spell rangers had to have any bit of fun with and a chance to make some gold.   Plus not to mention all the people who invested in the 'lifesteal' almadine gems... they are useless JUNK now...     I AM  NOT HAPPY!

 

Just want to add this comment... I don't care how much 'New" content HCS adds to this game ... if you keep nerfing our buffs, skills, gems, armor and remove our ability to fight in our chosen class .. well its making me feel like I'm throwing my hard earned real life money into the wind....  << I will grow tired of that pretty fast and find new game.

A level 26 warrior can outhit a level 40 ranger.  Doesn't HCS see any issues with this???

hmmmm...storm fixed?  thanks for that.  it's useless now.

I have been wondering for awhile why everyone considered Storm such a wonderful spell.  From the description, 105 DPS (with talents) always seemed a bit 'meh', and I seriously questioned whether Blot Out was even worth it.  The 10 second channel means 2 Detonates and 1 Blazing Arrow (all with higher DPS) are not used.  (Monsoon also has higher DPS, but the long CD means it won't be skipped.)

 

Four questions.

1.  If I understand this correctly, was the reason @40 rangers loved Storm because it was actually dealing more damage then the description?

2.  Back in beta (no Storm) I had very respectable AOE with the other three spells.  Does the haste nerf make that rotation unusable now?  Are we now that AOE crippled compared to spells such as Erupt and Dragon's Breath, or can it still work?

3.  Doesn't effect me, but wouldn't this be considered a balance change?  Shouldn't level 40 rangers get a free respec, and a chance to try a non-Storm build?

4.  Perhaps if HCS gave back the old Envenom or Fleetfoot, would that balance things out again?  Or reduced the cooldown on another AOE?  Or is the 'broken' Storm that critical?

Yes it seems storm was doing double damage compared to the tooltip which was fixed as this was essentially a bug. Compared to some other area attacks storm is a little weak now so we could look at in in a balance sense now it is fixed.

 

Everyone's reset cool-down was reset today, sorry I forgot to mention this in the patch notes, will update my original post.

Same, I reset just before the update and I didn't get a free respec. Kinda wasted it since I was saving it for 45 lol....

Rangers don't do any aoe? Let's take Storm out of the picture (it was bugged we fixed it, it needs a buff clearly).

 

You have Detonate, Monsoon (aoe stun better than meteorite), Blazing arrow, Creeping Vines (no damage snare). You've got plenty of abilities to hurt aoe wise. Oh and you also have Storm. Do you have the survivability? No? Are you a glass cannon? Are you attacking too many mobs?

 

I repeat we are going to be buffing Storm, but it was broken to start of with and was never "nerfed" it just does what it says on the tool tip now.

Blazing arrow and creeping vines will get any of my dungeon groups killed because it pulls agro off the tank and straight at me, therefore not used in dungeons against bosses.  Detonate is decent until someone in pvp complains about it then it too will get a balance update.  Storm is now one of those cute little abilities to drop on someone standing in eldevin circle.

 

Am I a glass cannon?  I have no clue what that even means.

 

I am not attacking too many mobs.  I am a very cautious player and never bite off more than I can chew. That seems maybe to be about three crimsons now.

Kinda depressed me reading this before i logon about storm lol. I wouldn't say it was that amazing to nerf even if was a bug in first place.

 

It's bad when my favourite ability ingame is now would be group summon.
