I believe a good thing that can happen with the reset would be you receiving a clone of you that will be level 1, don't get me wrong, the clone will do the follow:
- You will be able to equip 2x9 items sets, one with max level of the reset, another with the actual level of the clone. (Buffs like KE, SH, SW and AB will need to count only one setup).
- You'll keep your skill points, but the clone will receive it too, making possible to go over 175 on each skill, but to go over 175 you'll need to use 'clone skill points', and if your clone is level 200, you can only apply points on lvl200 skills or lower.
- The stamina use would be the same, but maybe you can receive a little more stamina.
- The mobs will need a lot of calcs to work properly.
- After you 'reset', you'll be able to upgrade epics, receiving 50% on each stats, so an Air Javelin would give you 3 stam gain.
Don't know, just some ideas.
Fallensword finale quest + reset/darkside options.

Something like a clone could work, but what when you reach EOC with the clone?
Then creating another? So basicly each time you reach EOC, you get an extra clone?
You share bp slots and other upgrades with your clone? Or do you buy new ones?
This may be an easier way to implement EOC. The thought has merit I think. Though the clone should not be overpowered.

On my view, the only thing clone will do is hold 9 more pieces of gear, add skill points over 175, allow you to upgrade epics, on PvP you will be able to attack with your main char, or the clone, but without adding stats, and the stats would add into your prior character for normal mobs.
That will increase the demand for gear, for sure
The stats of the mobs could work

there are games out with a reset on xbox and such like, but they usually take anything up to 80 hours to complete, that is not too bad to reset ( or prestige as some games call it) character but not on a game that's been going for years... people have put in a ton of effort and fsp to get to EOC why on earth would they want to reset?????

Some ability to re-experience earlier content either via reset/clone/pet whatever it's called ALONG WITH some tangible permanent bonus means, eventually, you would reattain EOC status along with whatever permanent bonus (stats, stam gain, skill, something).

Could be because they care for the game and see that the gap between a starting player and eoc player is to big.
Other than that, because they get a couple of new features/bonusses/rewards when they reset that are only available to them.
If you reset, you are still further ahead then the rest, the rankings should still apply. So you are not throwing away your efforts in my opinion. Just as long as the acknowledgement of what you have achieved is there.
Some may have put a lot of effort and fsp in reaching eoc, but does one do that because they just want to be at eoc and then wait for new content, or because they want to be among the greatest/best in this game? My guess is the latter. If you can retain the competition while resetting I do not see why it could not work.

What if the clone wasn't a clone, but a pet that we could add to the 9 gear slots and maybe it could have 1 weapon. The pet would then be able to level up like it's master (character). It could receive pet-only potions, buffs etc. That would give us the opportunity to experience the levels all over again without having to do too much of character building. The details can be worked out later.

You got the idea, I used the word 'clone' only because I couldn't think on anything else =P

Yeah, I think this thread is one of the most exciting threads right now. It gives the active community something to do/ think about. Curious to see a response from the developers

You also recently said you guys haven't ruled out an endgame scenario.
The problem is, the longer you take to set one up the higher and higher EoC gets and you miss the opportunities to hit meaningful milestones.

Of course not, that could be disastrous!
That wasn't the intent of my bumping this thread. I just think if you're going to do one you need to at least start the planning 'soon'. Otherwise we'll end up with a level 10k endgame scenario. lol

10K is cool with me.
Ok 5K. Plenty of time for a wildly involved end game quest that rewards the lifers.
Good-bye and hello, as always.

Throwing up some polls every 6 months to see if the community might want an end game scenario might be a nice first step. and have a feedback thread for ideas.
worst case you don't like the ideas and the poll says players don't want the end game scenario.. no harm done

You should do it windbattle, there are certain individuals that will vote negatively on any idea I put out. Regardless of it's merit.
I could literally put out an idea to cure cancer and it'd get malicious counter-votes. lmao

I would want to hit EOC just for the pet. I want a pet!

Actually: worst case is that HCS doesn't stomp on the idea convincingly, gives us the impression that they aren't that committed, and so some of us decide to jump ship before the inevitable is forced on us.
Continually pushing unfavourable ideas is not harmless.
