Let's not give BG a stroke
Besides, those poor hamsters can't handle that kind of load.

Because it's a special event that only happens twice a year. GE's are different, they happen often (some may say too often) and they have "prizes" at the end. When I first started playing, there were not GE's. We had LE events and they were sparse, maybe every quarter at best.
2XP is a one shot deal, especially for those that have a huge stam bank. There are some that actually only hunt during these, and either do other activities on FS or play other games entirely in the interim. Therein lies the difference.

The only reward is the extra XP. no chests, nothing like that.
And I seriously doubt that the guy with 100k+ max stam is gonna come hunt on a casual basis when it takes months for that stam to fill. There's no purpose in having it that high if you're not gonna let it fill. I'm not saying they don't log in, as they are usually the ones that rack up all the kills in the GE's. Some of them even have my same FS birth month.
It's tradition, and those tbh are a good thing. Keeping these things consistently makes FS a better game, and is probably why there are so many of us with a diamond loyalty medal...
You have to keep in mind as well that the only way to amass that kind of stam bank is to spend a massive amount of real life cash. When you invest that much, you expect a little notice before a "special" event. If it were me, and I had spent that kind of dough, I'd leave FS in disgust forever if I missed such an important event because I had no prior notice.

well if its a constant thing that happens regularly why do we need notice at all ?
everyone knows its coming ,everyones saving stam ,MOST of those that hunt twice a year are at eoc anyway so it dont matter to them that much ,
just my thoughts you all prob think im nuts but just typing what i think

Because like a baby on the way, the due date is not constant. We all know there will be one around Christmas for the FS birthday bash, and one in the summer. The reasoning for the flunctuation in timing is probably to allow the cow gods to prepare content specifically for those at EoC, so that they may also enjoy the event.
Which is the point I made earlier on in this thread. This is a special thing, kinda like a prom or homecoming dance, or your best friends wedding. You wouldn't want to be caught unprepared for something of that nature, and you shouldn't expect anybody to be unprepared here either. Else you will have most of us stagnatiing the entire months of June and December just so we have full stam whenever.
Trust me, that would be bad for HCS business and bad for the game as a whole. With notice, we can optimize our hunts and a good time will be had by all..... And the hamsters will get fed..... (it's all about the hamsters, you know)

Owing to unprecedented Legal action by PETA against HCS over their inhumane Treatment of Bovines and the Poor Hamsters who power the servers all Xp events have been ordered to cease forthwith.
In a statement to parliament Teresa July said of the decision handed down at the olde bailey .....poppycock! throw another steak on the barbie as parliament again descended into bedlam and divisive name calling.
Further the Science community has taken offence at the ammount of Methane these cows are producing and demanded they cut emisions in line with the Paris accord effective immediately.
