One thing I haven't seen mentioned as of yet is the need to make the basic ingredients easy to acquire. When you need to kill an SE 3 times at a minimum to get the drops needed to make one of the three pieces to make the original Hammer, it is going to take a long time to build up a useful number of basic Hammers to make it possible to make any number of tier 5 Hammers. Make the Flaming Baron spawn at least as often as most elites maybe? Just a thought.

 

Side effect would be a lot more people working on their SE Hunter medal!!

Im completely against messing with the spawning times of the Baron. We dont need to change more of the game to make a pilot update work. Lowering the spawn rate would only make the Hammer less valuable, which defeats the whole purpose of this update anyways.

 

I think if this Tiered system is gonna be implemented again in the future, the number of tiers needs to be reduced. I think after Tier 3 this becomes overboard for a lot for the titans that get hunted in the realms on a daily basis. If you look at a really old Epic like 'Cyclonus Boots' theres only about 120 in backpacks, and around 300 equipped. Out of those 300 people who are already interested with the current version, you can see that theres still only enough hanging around for 20 (or 4 for a 5 Tier system) people to upgrade right away. We definitely are not at the stage where we need that much epics removed from the game, even a two tier system would be plenty. Five tiers is overkill!

 

Plus I cant really say it feels like much of an upgrade if it has mostly the same stats, some better or even new enhancements would be great.

I'm against increasing SE spawns to cater to making more hammers more quickly - I'm pretty sure this tiered beastie isn't meant to be invented in 5 mins.

 

And then, for purely selfish reasons, it'll cheapen one of the few medals that you have to actually put the hard yards in to accomplish - especially if you have NEVER purchased a location and still have only one of 3 diamond SE medals in-game..

These new epic hammers shouldn't have been inventable but instead should've only be acquired through NPC EXCHANGERS that would take two tier n-1 hammers and give you a tier n hammer. We currently have an oversupply of epic items such as steamwork cuirass, writhing ward, elemental shields and the best way to reduce their numbers is through an exchanger and not by abusing Inventor II 500.

 

Edit: Nevermind. It explicitly says in the recipe description that Inventor II doesn't work.

still to be able to make an epic like this (for players without a huge amount of FSP) and, to give +3 for both stam/xp gain is a good thing. It's tiered so, you can take your time in making it too.

I don't understand why some of you think it should increase in levels with theirs. Don't you higher level players have enough.

Yeah, I just found out the hard way by actually reading the in-game recipe description. Nowhere in the OP was that info available though, especially if this is the first time such restriction was explicitly added to a recipe.

We've also worked out that the end recipe, tier 5, would need an insanely amount of inferno hammers. Perhaps some minor adjustment is required.

i think mzz had it very well rounded, i wouldnt change much else as u reduced the number of hammers to invent, i dont see why u couldnt go a little left of centre and do some nice xp gains on something like this +3 xp gain all the way to +15 xp gain on tier five, its not huge though it adds cool factor :-)

 

stats on it were VERY generous hoof, this is an uber epic for its level, best epic for over 900 levels tho obviously sta wise it will divit as levels stat getting 500+.

The fact that it doesn't work makes this particular instance suck. Sucky reward for the investment. On the other hand if they make tier 5 more rewardable then we are talking.

the diffuculty was great though it didnt have enough oomph, maybe the huger + gain woulda done it, fact they reduced it to 32??? hammers needed means it dont need changing heaps, u guys will make this a crap item at this rate, not so much at you EP, if its gonna be GREAT it needs to be pushed back up to huge no. of hammers needed THEN made just like your username EP

The stats on it are obviously, mostly irrelevant; unless the stats gets ludicrously high to make it useful for arena. Nobody is inventing 32 hammers to use this for leveling.

 

The xp gain would have to be very large for it to be useful over stam gain.

 

It would be great if there were a reason for anyone to want to keep the mid tier hammers, otherwise, since Inventor 2 doesn't work, there's functionally no difference between 5 tiers at 2 each, and 1 tier at 32 hammers.

It's not about what's available for EOC players. If HCS made it so more people were involved it would be nice period. Making the item useful for the rest of the game would be nice and would also make the item far more attractive in terms of the game's economy.

 

Many of us enjoyed the item - it's since then been clearly out matched by many of the newer epics. In fact it is even still out classed by all the other epics. Yes 3 stam gain would be nice but at the price of 200 some odd hammers to make or buy it's just not worth it.

 

As I and many others have said before this was an awesome idea, the concept is great. However if HCS had come to forum and talked to the community I'm sure the item and it's recipes would have been drawn differently to help benefit the majority or all of the game's community.  That said it's not too late to change or fix this to help get more involved, and even if... HCS never amends the recipe or create newer ones for the hammer - perhaps they will learn from this experience upon newer recipes and such... This is the communities hope at the very least.

so you're saying you want the whole Community involved. With this level 200 weapon, but it increased in levels for every tier that it is increased. So it can continue to be used by the whole of the community? What if the Cows have similar plans for other higher level Epics on the table? It would be cool if they said so.

Also after looking at the blue man sword at Lv 400. This Tiered 5 hammer has more Dam, Stamina, Stam gain, and XP gain at Lv 200. The same when compared to the Reborn blade of fire, at Lv 700. Only compared to the blade of Fire it has half the damage. Unless I'm missing something, that's not bad for a level 200 item

Yup your missing that coa and cod buffs do not work with setups containing non set items meaning that inspite of the increased stats the hammer is still not a levelling item.

 

Secondary issue here is hammers used to have +35 master inventor enhancement why was this removed from the upgraded versions?

Try to imagine how much fsp would need if there was an Tiered system to Ridged Plate Cuirass up to tier 5 requiring 3 Ridged Plate Cuirass per Tier lol
