Hello Fellow FSers. As we've seen, for the month of August, there's a "titan competition" for the roadmap. Here's some ideas on how I believe this competition could be handled to maximize participation and ensure a level playing field:

 

The competition can be one of two styles, either of which would be more ideal than the traditional Global Events:

 

1. All current titans killed would count, each kill equals points. For example: Kantec titan is roughly 4k kills to clear it so each kill is a point, so its a total of 4k points up for grab.

2. The competition should be titan based HP which would measure any titan kill and kills with titan doubler should count correctly.

 

• As a cherry on top, quest titans would count as well.

 

This method would encourage players to hunt from day 1 to the last day of the competition. This would also force players to clean (finish off) any remaining titans that are active. Overall, this competition would also benefit for the next upcoming roadmap update "New Epic Recipes."

I hope it's not a standard global competition is all. Something to do with titans. I'd also have to imagine this would be a guild vs guild competition in that regard?

If you haven't committed to an idea for the Titan competition, please make it about killing titans.

 

This could truly be a competition instead of measuring how much stamina players can burn via auto refresh. There are limited number of titans that spawn every hour, the players at the top of the list will be the ones who were active throughout the event instead of rushing their kills on the last day. 

 

The there may be flaws, someone will always have an advantage but I would rather see this and improved iterations than the same old Global Event.

Titan hunting could never be a true Global Event.  Aside from the fact that it was supposed to be a Guild activity, a number of us just don't like hunting Titans, so participation would likely be lower than for other GE's. But possibly something similar to what is needed to hunt Tommy, for example, followed by unlocking the respective Titan, would give not only Titan hunters something to sink their teeth into, but the rest of the community something they would like to do... 

However, I agree that we need something new and fresh for GE's. I know this is a little off-topic, but since Friend Siddy already brought it up, I think I should mention it here - I liked the quests surrounding Rosmariat, for example.  The GE's for certain Seasonal quests are also fun, but as they are also finite in nature, even Seasonal GE's become stale for those of us who have completed the assigned quests...  Possibly, instead of being able to purchase your Easter Basket or Spooky equipment from a shop, maybe make a repeating quest of killing "X" critters that don't need a special "weapon" before receiving it would make GE's a bit more engaging for all... For example, I've always thought we should be hunting the Skeeters with either a giant flyswatter or rolled up newspaper...  A "gather" quest might be the lick as well, but please, no expensive inventing... we have more than enough of those scattered throughout the realms already.

It's a Design Contest for people to create a Titan, not like a killing contest lol

We'll reveal what the competition will be in due time. Rest assured however, it is NOT tied to a Global Event. That's fine for LEs/SEs, especially with the Max 3 cap in place. We don't feel it's a good fit for the Titans though.
