The thing is, with all the drop rates so low, it isn't even worth going scavenging this weekend, regardless of the fact that thothmes is in the caves again and we can make gnarled scarab epics.

guessing the x4 increases in drop rate wasnt applied?

I dont know if the drop rate was applied or not, but after 150 fsps (I know, drop in the bucket compared to the thousands you rich guys spend) I only managed 2 scarab linens from Thothmes, 2 staffs and a sarcophagous, one full level 110 Wolf set that I gave to a level 103 player and about 4 ghostly items. I did not keep the statistics to determine how many times I saw the legendaries vs. how many times they dropped. I also got numerous other junk and about 10 blazing cave pots. Needless to say i lost fsps on the whole deal, but I always have fun scavenging and I don't mind providing my friends with the leftover items for their inventing needs.

to be honest like many i have given up on scavenging it used to be like a drug to me spending thousands of fsp worth of gold every week. i can no longer afford nor wish to do that ,ppl say caves are not about profit but of course they are no one in there right mind throws fsp/gold away without the hope of profiting or you wouldnt be able to continue to do it for some reason them days as far as the caves are concerned have long gone

maybe requested , but do they have to be in the caves ,it just screws the market up for all the potions etc that are gained also , , it would have been far more beneficial to have a separate cave if you must do that instead of releasing them into the realms ..

screws up the market place ????? how.?
it lowers the price of market, making it cheaper to trade gold to fsp, thus helping out the lower levels who have less gold to trade with...

True, low Market Place does help lower level players accumulate some much need FSP however there has be a happy medium. Personally I'm beginning to loath visiting the Market Place and see the constantly low prices of gold. This helps an individuals bank not a Guilds. I wonder how many other guilds out there are struggling to maintain its bank balance?

Cheers.

Yes it was.

Guys, stop complaining. These were requested in the thread dedicated to Cave Requests. If they weren't wanted, why were't you there explaining why they were not needed?

As it is, plenty of players are happy with the scavenging event so knock it off, okay?

Hello again. BG, I understand it's frustrating having people voice complaints about something when you feel you were responding to our requests. Truth of the matter is people who allegedly "requested" these items are obviously NOT scavenging for them. Otherwise, the AH would have a ton of the "requested" items up there for sale. So far there are not many highly desired pieces from these drops showing up right now. As a matter of fact, contrary to what usually happens during a scavenging event, the price on Scarab Linens has actually GONE UP since this event began. If that doesn't tell you something, then I don't know how else to put it. People simply are not scavenging because it's not worth it. I've blown all of my fsps trying to get some of those, I got 2 of them and some odd potions and other items, that's it. However, I sold them early, thinking the price would go down later. Bad timing on my part.

I remember back in the good ol' days of scavenging when I at least had the HOPE of getting lucky and making my money back or making a decent little profit. When the Leaf Dragon showed up that was so exciting. You did your scavenging and if you got a Leaf Staff it was like hitting the proverbial Jackpot. Those were fun times. Now, with the proliferation of items you just can't do it.

It's obvious if the prices are going up that they're needed, but with 3 legendaries in one cave, all of the other critters and their drops, that's a couple dozen different drops to contend with, the chances of getting what you want are slim to none in my opinion.

Anyway, now I scavenge more for fun than anything else, and with the intention of helping out friends who are inventors. In return they toss me an odd potion I might need. I just think that there maybe needs to be a third cave or some rejuggling of how this is done, but I'm not sure how to do it. In any case, thanks B.G. I always look forward to seeing what's coming next in the scavenging caves.

I don't scavenge. I'm not willing to assume the risk and lay out the gold required.

I also don't pretend to know the value of the items gained by scavenging, as I am not in any serious way an inventor or merchant.

But, would creating a third cave dedicated solely to LE creatures help encourage scavenging? From the sound of some comments, it seems that all the other critters in the caves are so much noise that lessens the chances of finding LEs and getting the desired drops during these events.

Looking at the marketplace, price per FSP went down considerably. Still a lot of people are scavaging. So, it must be still working. But we are slowly getting another issue, which might be causing problems longterm. At this moment, an rather small number of legendarys have been in the cave for high prices, which drove the price of gear up. If this continues, we will having more and more legandary gear at high prices, making it hard for newer players to get their own sets. Doesn't look good.

how about a "roulette wheel" cost 1fsp... you get a chance to spin a "wheel" or a randomizing program,or what have you. chance of gold, more fsp, un forged gear, etc... IDK just an idea hate it if you want...

Hi again BG,

First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for listening to our feedback. I'd like to sincerely apologize for complaining. That was not what I meant to come across as, though I suppose that it is what it sounds like. What I was merely trying to say (though poorly communicated) was that because there are 3 LE's each cave, the drop rates from each of the creatures become relatively quite low. That, coupled with the fact that it is so hard to come by the LE creatures (even when paying the correct amounts), and with gold being as low as it is, it makes it less feasible to go scavenging. The high amounts of FSP that need to be spent to get the drops (with the only valuable one being the pharaohs armor, really) make it hardly worth scavenging.

Now, I realize that these LE's were requested in the thread. I think what most people were hoping for was a realm event, which would be accessible to the larger public. I'm not sure what the actual numbers are, but from what I've gathered, very few people are scavenging this weekend, partly because of the aforementioned reasons and partly because it takes so many BP spaces and a VERY large investment to have even a slim chance of making some money. A realm event allows all tiers of players to compete, not just the rich ones.

At this point, I'd like to make a suggestion. The marketplace needs some time to recover; there is a dire lack of gold in the game, and it can only be fixed with time. To provide this time, I'd suggest waiting on more cave events until composing comes out. In theory, it will allow all of the "junk" items that come out of LE events (the other two pieces of pharaohs, for example) to have some use (apart from brides recipes). Besides, I don't think anyone would mind waiting on more LE events if it meant that the release of the new buffs and composing would be sped up.

Once again, I'd like to apologize for complaining earlier, and I really hope that this post didn't also come across as complaining, it was meant to be constructive.

Thanks,
AA.

Yes, we did ask for these LEs. Thank you. I would prefer that some of these were in the realms as they were last year, but that's just me.

I am replying to this thread simply to post this point.

The Morbidstein sequence was awesome. (Anyone who has read my posts over time will have noticed I am a Dr Morbidstein fan, and I believe he LIVES!!)

Bring back Dr Morbidstein. There is no way he died in a lab coat - that was his brilliant synthesis of muscle and magic - a homunculus, a simulacrum, a doppleganger - call it what you will - he duped the heroes of the realms into thinking him dead... so he could continue with his experiments, and now, so long secluded and uninterrupted - he is ready to unleash the products of his genius upon the world...

A Morbidstein global with new monsters to face, maybe new legendaries - but not the man himself - no! Too clever for that he floods the realms with his undead and automata, seeking to control... what? Certain ancient portals to stop inter-realm transport? Relics of massive power that if his hordes can overrun will grant him power to rival that of his new Master - the Shadowlord? If our heroes defeat the flood of enemies maybe we will discover clues to his secret redoubt, a new and shadow filled realm perhaps like quango and storybook, only available to us when time and tide permit... Or part of a new epic quest sequence... I'm not fussy!

In short... these old monsters rock, and their being part of a story arc made them favourites for many players. Dr Morbidstein was their fulcrum. Having him die at 480-490 whenever it was is just so.... unsatisfying. Morbidstein could be a new quest, new world areas, new globals as above, and I am sure I am not the only fan who would like him to come back. Maybe with Xinderoth as his partner.... LOL!

BRING BACK Dr MORBIDSTEIN!!

On the next round of Scavaging creatures, can I suggest including the Reborn Dragon? I've seen players asking for the Armor in gchat and on FS Box. There are over a 1000 in the system according to the Guide, but rarely do they ever get posted on the AH. Perhaps many are locked in inactive accounts.

I hope the one that drops "A Wretched Hat" and "A Wretched Rat" items, will be out again soon too. It seems impossible to get ahold of that rat-rune. :)

That Elite better NOT appear in the caves - he needs to come back in the realm along with the quest tied to him ...
