I do use the friend's list as mentioned here - to avoid certain PKers. But then again I don't really exploit TA. I might go there for 20-30 minutes each day to save a few minutes of gathering and do the daily, but I'm not spending hours there massively producing resources.
And the PKers are smart. Even adding them isn't a guarantee if they know where you like to gather and switch servers at that location in TA.
Still, I do agree with Alteration to a large extent. Some people do spend countless hours there each day. Its a difficult situation because TA isn't a very big area. Suppose you close TA on Terra and Oceanic servers. For a person who isn't powerful enough to defend themselves, it would be near impossible to gather on TA whatsoever. Ideally, in my opinion, in the present state of things TA would only exist on one server but would be a much, much larger map.
Accepting Friend Invites: I'm not opposed to this, but only if friend's list get's expanded beyond 50. Outside of two players on my FL to avoid in TA, my friend's list is a constant shuffle. Suppose someone has placed an online potion order. I'll want to add that person so I get notified when they get online, something that would be impossible if they weren't around to accept my friend request. Any healer that is willing to do dungeon runs with me I try to keep on my friend list, as well as DPS players, but in the current state of things half those players would not accept my request because their friend list is full of other players. And often lower level players who want help from me, I tell them to add me but I can't add them back because my friend list is full - requiring a mutual acceptance would mean they couldn't add me to ask for help. While I appreciate the problems with TA, I don't think this is the answer.
