Limit World Boss Groups to 10, to increase the challenge.

There should be bosses/content in the game that are difficult. If every player can kill every boss, then what is there to separate a good player from an average one? MMORPG's are built on community and competition.

 

If you are just an average player, then like Mongo said you have a challenge to tackle and keep you busy for awhile, which means you don't run out of things to do as quickly. The satisfaction of killing a boss that killed you many times is tenfold compared to a new boss that you killed first try because it was too easy. I state that from personal experience of killing extremely difficult bosses from older games vs killing the watered down loot pinata's of instant gratification from more recent games.

 

You don't HAVE to kill every boss without wipes, this is what I think most people didn't understand when we were trying to figure out zork first couple times, people cared more about their repairs than trying to overcome a challenge. Guess why people used to play old MMORPG's for years yet basically all MMO's made in the last 4 years are beaten and discarded within the first couple of months? Because they were more difficult, the content kept you busier for longer.

 

However I don't think all world bosses should be difficult, but 1 or 2 of them should require a skilled group or co-ordination though and drop better stuff to compensate for increased challenge. If your stance on the game is that everyone should be able to beat every piece of content (communism gaming), then you are likely in for a disappointment when lvl 50 & ascended dungeons are released.

I am not saying everyone should be able to beat it first try I am just saying that everyone should have just as fair as a chance of those who seem to think they are better then everyone else the whiners as I call them who don't want anyone who is a lower lvl then them to reach lvl 40 because then they won't feel like they are the very best

You do have the same fair chance as everyone else? The keyword here is chance, as in you don't always succeed.

 

How does a better player have any advantage, because they are better at playing the game...? Please tell me you are trolling, because I don't think any game developer would take your opinion seriously with that outlook on game design.

 

Sorry but if you can't faceroll your way through every boss you might actually have to use both halves of your brain to figure out what you did wrong and how you could do better next time. This is a video game not a movie. You don't just sit there and watch it play itself, you have to actually overcome your adversary.

thanks for assuming that I am concerned with myself but I do fine in this game what I am concerned with is people who might be playing with a disablity such as maybe having  CP and having a hand that is chicken winged or maybe being blind in one eye and going blind in the other if ya think these types of players don't play this game you are mistaken as I know a tank who is blind in one eye and have a friend who plays who has CP and his one arm is chicken winged meaning he doesn't have much cordination with that hand and by your standards of thinking he has no right to be in dungeons let alone playing this game as he will probably never be one of the best I am quite sure HCS wants everyone to play and enjoy there game not just those of us that have two working hands and two working eyes now the blind one does just fine tanking the one with CP well he is still trying to learn so yeah lets give everyone a chane to enjoy all aspects of the game not just you and I

I dont think he is saying they cant play oops. I think he is saying that there should be challenges at End Game for people to test themselves. If there is no challenge at the end of the game, this game will die.

 

Right now those challenges are meant to be WB as HCS stated they they are balanced for 10 players. The majority of us (myself included) normally go through these with large groups as it is a quick clear now that mechanics (although limited) have been figured out. I think personally I would find it much more enjoyable to go through the WBs with a well formed group of 10 than steaming through with 30 or so people. But at the same time am happy to join in with large groups for some fun too.

 

With the coming updates they are bringing out Ascended Dungeons which will be another thing for people to test themselves on. Everyone can have a go at these challenges and if you find them difficult, it is all the more rewarding when you complete them.

 

World Bosses in the current state can be completed by anyone, even lower levels can come along and sit there without doing anything (their accuracy wont allow them to even hit) and they can join in the loot rolls etc. There should be some way to make it a bit more challenging without alienating people. Scaling them in difficulty to group numbers, or have some that limit the number of players, or have the drops get better with smaller groups, these are all possibilities to make end game content better. There NEEDs to be longevity to end game content!

I do not want to ruin the enjoyment of the game for ANY player. The point of this suggestion is being overlooked I think....

 

World Bosses are meant to be a challenge for experienced players, to reward those players with something for the fact they are more "skillful" than other players. If all players can achieve the same rewards on everything, what is the point in trying to be good at the game?

 

The fact the WB can currently be defeated through pure numbers of players, rather than any real skill and strategy means they are not working as intended.

 

So this suggestion is more of a "fix" for the WB, hope that makes sense.

 

Everyone still has exactly the same chance, you can all still attempt to defeat the WB, but now you will be limited to 10 in your group rather than 20, 30, 100! < yes that could happen in the future.

 

I in no way think I am in the group of top skilled players, why you think I chose warrior? so I can smash first, think later. :D

 

I just want to see World Bosses as the challenge they were meant to be, rewarding players for their efforts in skill and learning the combat mechanics etc.

1) want to test to see who the "better" players are >_> then limit yourselves to groups of 10,maybe a reward should be implemented and a achievement and time stamp label for defeating them 1-x times with groups of 10 players or less, i dont believe it should be forced onto everyone. Easy mode-auto enabled when population of 11+ enter the world boss area and hard mode-auto enabled when a population 10-5 are in the world boss. easy mode-general achievements and current rewards,Hard mode-better rewards,more achievements. maybe could even be listed like dungeons? in a special combat area for achievements? "defeated (insert boss name here) x times with group of 10 or less.

2)I feel there aren't better players at all,that's all based on opinion. some speed some take their time,doesn't make one better then the other,soo many variables to take into effect you can't just say better players or more skillful players. DPDPS

I still hope world bosses will stay as is.  They give level 40 players a chance to test their skills in large groups and interact as a team.  And if "elite" teams want to go as 10 players they always have that option.  I don't really think it would be fair to not allow the larger teams since these bosses were designed for 10 or more as stated in their release.  It seems you cannot please everyone all the time.  When they were released some were too difficult and everyone was screaming nerf them so now that they are beatable, some players want teams limited.  I still want everyone to be afforded the opportunity regardless of their 'elite' ability to try their luck and if that means a larger team then I'm ok with it.  Good luck to all who attempt them!
