Honestly HCS?

    Lately you have been pushing to keep current players motivated and to encourage new players to join the game and stay. YET with a simple action you have just lost a few more players.  You release the booster packs one day before the XP event notification. The automatic 10k stamina pushed many players over their max limit so they go ahead and push a quick hunt in. The next day a double event release notification?  You just disappointed many players and if you had only done the reverse you would have made so many players ecstatic.  Your actions are not what your words say for encouraging growth but just the opposite. Whoever thought of releasing booster pack before XP notice needs to take a marketing class.

 

 

Normally we give much less notice (if any) for Double XP events. But we've listened to feedback and hence this time we're giving a weeks notice about the upcoming event...

 

The free booster pack had nothing to do with the Double XP event. With the increase in new members from the promo code giveaway, it is nice to get yet another gift from the Hunted Cow Studios. Sometimes you just have to be patient and make do with what you get. We have been given lots of free bonuses and for that I am grateful. Thanks for the heads up Hoof, keep up the good work

1. The 500+ free FSP's worth of upgrades you got

     and

2. The fact there is a 2x xp event.

the fallen sword community has really disappointed me.. i was ready for a full on flame fest once this was announced.. the only flaming going on is against the one nerd rager who voiced their opinion.. tsk tsk thought you all had less gratitude then this..

I only worked out the 10K current stam (400 fsp) and the 500 increment to base stam (100 fsp). Forgot the 5 free BP slots (75fsp) ...

i am a little devastated that i grabbed my pack b4 hearing about the event, but on the other hand it will be like two double xp events I'll make about 20 levels with the booster pack and then next week at full stam I'll make another 20

Thank you for the amazing girfts provided to us with over 15000 stamina and back pack space.

 

Also, thank you for allowing us to have a weeks notice on the double xp event.

 

Been awhile since I logged into the forums and poked around and read stuff, this is some very nice changes, lets hope it translates into many many many new members.

 

Also, I tested the Eldevin game for a bit, was going into it wanting to hate it, but ended up loving it.

Let the team know its outstanding and to continue to do well on it.

 

One thing before I go, though I am not at the end of content, will there be content released for the players sitting up there? I am sure they would like to use their stamina for this event, with new content released of course.

It did say on the booster pack atleast where I got my redeem code +10k stam to current stam and anytime we seen that it before like the epic quests we know that it got added on top so its not like something that you didn't know would happen so it is not the cows fault. I hunted with the booster pack stam also before the double xp notice, but that was my choice like it was your choice to activate the code as soon as possible.

 

Same for anyone else complaining about it. Like Hoof said they never gave a 10 day notice of a double xp event before.

any chance we could pick to use it anytime from now to the 16th for a 48 hour period? I always liked this idea from a server lag point of view. I don't really enjoy the events when it lags horribly. Thanks

 

I know this is has never been done before and has been suggested before. But if the servers get even a few hundred more people than usual it freezes up badly.

So BAD !!!!!!!

Next weekend, we will be running a Double XP event!
 This means that during the event, all creatures will give DOUBLE their normal xp.

WHY didn't tell that when offering the NEW  Offer «« Booster Pack » of yesterday...

Yesterday, I have hunted all my staminas , included the Bonus of +10,000 Current Stamina

... so, when I have took that pack, i was thinking to be able to activate it when I would,,, but NO.. it's automatic !!!

 

Very bad communication...

 

I knew there would be a lot of peeved people. Giving us tons of stamina is like giving a crack head all the crack he could possibly snort. Although some managed to not OD on stamina. 

 

But I'd rather have the event than not have one.

Will there be some new levels for the people who have been at level 1675+ for 2 and a half months?

It would be fun to join in on the fun of a Double XP event.

 

whats wrong with grinding on the same map for an entire hunt. I find that to be a ton of fun,

I agree with what you said .. but if you had just blown your entire 20, 30, 50k stamina on a hunt just to find out if you waited a little longer .. it would have been double the experience overall, you would be a bit upset. 

 

They didn't have to give us any of these benefits, but it was poor timing to give the booster then wait 12-24 hours then announce XP event .. regardless of whether you think advanced warning should be given for XP events or not OR  whether you think those people are justified or not.

The Booster Pack is a free gift that we are giving away. It isn't related to the Double XP event that we're running next weekend.

 

We're sorry you aren't happy about this, however we felt it was better to give players a week's notice about the event, rather than none.

You know when you get the code you don't have to enter it in ...... So Chill. Thanks for the notice cows!! Hoof and BigG you gonna be hunting right along side of us???

Maybe, maybe not - but no-one would have forced me to hunt it so, ultimately, the responsibility is mine. Also, there has been quite a lot of talk on the forums about an XP event recently ...

Honestly?

With a simple action HCS has brought in NEW players, and shortly thereafter, given them a taste of what fallensword has to offer with the XP event. This to me is a very good marketing idea if you ask me. Bring in new players with the booster pack and ramped up advertisement, give them something to look forward to, and keep them coming back! Those "many" players who are "disappointed" by this are only in it for themselves. HCS didn't HAVE to give us old timers access to the booster pack, they didn't HAVE to give us a weeks notice of the event (which at 90 stam gain is over 15000 stamina), and they didn't HAVE to include a FSP offer a week before the XP event. For an established player in the game to act so selfishly in spite of the flurry of gifts the cows have given in the last 2 days alone, I would say that THAT is poor marketing. Just my 1 cent, as I don't believe this waa waa rant is deserving of 2.

Every update has critical comments for the cows. So I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised by that. I think upgrading the standard BP to 10 was the only update that didn't get any critical comments.

It's the fact that some people are so ungrateful that cows were nice enough to give us all access to this free stuff, they could of not.
