It occurs to me as people make efforts to remove xp loss from pvp effectively making it pillow vs pillow that we are forgetting a very important part of the game, hunting. Now while the new breed of practice pvper is swinging on everything in range with their newfound epic pillow of extrafluffiness, screaming no xp loss while trying to rally fs around this idea of a friendlier anti-pvp pvping structure that the monsters roaming the realms have not gotten their fair dues. Imagine, you're a werepanda out on the realm trying to feed your family of 12 when suddenly some drunken adventurer with a pillowcase full of rice blasts you in the head taking your wealth and your life for some measly xp to gain a couple levels. Is there any thought or care to that panda's family? What about his ex-wife pandas trying to collect child support or even alimony? While I'm sure the panda has found peace in finally not having to pay out all his hard earned bamboo to that bloodsucking leech he picked up at that bush party back 200 levels ago, what about the kids? Why do they deserve to starve because their dad, once just a dead beat, is now dead at the hands of some pillow carrying adventurer? Therefore I propose the following, in accordance with the demands of xp loss removal from pvping(no doubt due to the rising cost of rice.) I say we remove xp gain from the killing of creatures in the realms except during specific hunting seasons based on creature types, ie:lizard season, panda season, corpse season. This, along with no xp loss in pvp, would certainly make this game a much more enjoyable experience for all players of all backgrounds.

I'm 100% in for a 'human hunting season', were all that fauna over the realms can come back and kick our ass, so finnally the Panda's family will have their revenge over us.

Moonfrost, as much as I concur with your position on the removal of XP loss from PvP'ing I believe that you have completely missed the point on the hunting of the werepanda and other "monsters". As can be seen from each "hunting area" (realm) there is an extreme over-population of said "monsters" in most of the designated hunting areas.  Left unchecked this overpopulation will lead to the starvation of most of the little "monster" kids due limited food resources in each area.  As a duly appointed hunter, authorized by HCS, my job is to insure the survival of each "monster" species by thinning out the male population of said species so that the less advantaged of the species (kids and stay at den moms) have sufficient resources to survive.  As these male "monsters" are dispatched, my HCS hunting tag only allows me to dispatch the males, HCS rewards me with XP.  I would rather have the pelt and the meat as I have little ones to feed and clothe also, but HCS in it's infinite wisdom won't let me have those and only gives me "digital" XP and gold as a reward. Were it not for the services of myself and other hunters all creatures in the "hunting zones" would perish, leaving no hunters at all  in any of the realms.  As hunters are part of the natural HCS food chain the lack of Hunters would also spell the eventual  starvation and death of the dreaded  "Great White Shark" of hunters the PvP'er. As a matter of self-preservation Moonfrost, I'm sure you would not like to see the demise of the PvP'er through a painful starvation process due to the absence of  the tasty Hunters that have left all the realms to find greener pastures (hunting areas) in an alternate venue that you cannot access. For the sake of balance in our FS microcosm it is imperative that XP gain and loss be left undisturbed in our little corner of the universe.

A simple response would be survival of the fittest

Wow, you made that whole post on the assumption these panda's are herbivores. But what if they are carnivores? Because if they are, then they will not starve at all. Now when you and other hunters come along and hunt those panda's, you will eventually put them on the extintion list (if you guys haven't already wipped them out).

I had just finished reading a book with some astounding photos, when I started to play here. I felt like I had fallen down a rabbit hole and walked through a warped mirror.  It was fascinating.

Human Wildlife: The Life That Lives on Us by  Robert Buckman..

The human body has 100 trillion cells, but only 10 trillion are human. The rest belong to the bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites that live on or in us. Some are good for us, helping in the digestion process. But most neither help nor hurt us, they just coexist with us. A few others however, from the cholera bacilli to tapeworms and lice, are dangerous, and sometimes deadly.

Did you know there is little worm that crawls across your face to your eyebrow, then tucks its little head down and pretends to be another eyebrow.

Good thing I have a reasonable sense of humor and didn't freak out. I just want my monsters to be monsters not human monsters. I don't like human monsters because there are way to many of those.

BigGrim, you should ask the other game admin to get a copy of this book along with permission to use their pictures, so I can have other interesting things to hunt.

i believe it's a spider (mite) - and yes, scientists are beginning to re-define what a "human" is, considering we are actually a complete ecosystem of different - tiny- living things

Well it doesn't really matter since we all came from some sun that went supernova millions of years ago. Also we are nothing but vibrating atoms and the frequency of that vibration gives everything its appearance.

I feel bad that these beasties are so poor.  Please raise the minimum wage for monsters, so they can afford to feed their many families, which in turn provides us with game to sport upon........

YES! Then that way the monsters can stay beefed up when we fight them... and put up more of a challange.
