Half the problem is folk accepting the game is going/gone to the dogs, jeez.

The dates on the development map were a bad choice.. And hopefully just get removed in the future.. Its hard to not be scared for fallen sword when other games have been dropped yet let run and ignored.. But I highly doubt that for fallen sword.. This upcoming app is everything.. And I hope they reinvent the regular game as well in the process.. You think new content has been neglected? Think about all the daily used functions that could use an easy tweak to make more efficient.. You beg for a new 25 levels that has 1-3 quests with a coupld handfuls of items and new creatures.. I sit here waiting for our logs to be properly organized with the ridiculous amount of new features that have been added since logs have been updated.. Or FSHelper functions added to the game that other players are using to get a huuuge advantage over players who don't or can't use that script...

The stability of the game is the number one goal of the game and its what seems to be the main focus.. Based off forum threads and posts.. But the communication has to be made more clear and for the general public... The payment for downtime needs to be severely increased to help ease the players a bit.. Communication and rewards for loyalty can be the only things that a game developer can give its player base during game problems.. And an exact amount of reserve stamina based on hours of downtime isn't helping much.. It doesn't come often enough and when it does it just seems like a down to the tea cover up that could of just as easily been doubled and felt more like an apology

Be transparent even if the cloud service or other services you use to run this game are running poorly.. Let the gamers know.. It isn't a bad thing for the gamers to know which company is ruining our experience.. Company's need to know that their service is poor so they know to fix it and at what speed..

If its on a cow or code, still let us know.. We are all human and naturally the evolution of fallen sword is going to be a bumpy road.. But we are here with you..

I'm tired of accepting it.  I've put in enough time and money into this game where I expect more.  I know I'm not alone when I say that.  The fact that it says "Office closed, we open again in 3 days" speaks for itself.  What kind of business neglects a game they created for 3 days? The connectivity issues are atrocious and almost make the game unplayable, and there are no Devs in sight.

How the Cows respond to increasing disenchantment will define the games future.

 

Making the game playable on a mobile app while neglecting issues with game play will see more of the same.

 

We have all heard words over the years telling us this and that will happen yet they have never been actioned.

 

I am tired of fighting for change, It has to come from within HCS if They truly have any plans for FS future.

I cannot agree more.  Lack of content is annoying, but not pressing.  The more pressing issues are connectivity and server issues.  I can remember on like 3 different occasions where HCS promised they would communicate more on whats going on.  They have not even held true to that and all of the players are completely in the dark.  We should not have to ask for these courtesies from an established business! Communcation with your customers/player base is pivotal and HCS can't do that.

 

8 years, I've been playing this game for 8 years and I have never been this concerned with the state of FS.  What that tells me is that things HAVE to change.  I love FS, I adore FS...but the recent lack of attention is so frustrating that I actually want to stop playing all together.  That is something I never thought I'd say, but I'm closer now than I've ever been in the past.  And it's not just a spur of the moment decision...it's a decision based off neglect and lack of care from the Devs on a product they created.  Connectivity issues, lack of content, lack of incorporating the more useful FSH features, lack of communication, and lastly lack of concern for paying customers and loyalty.

The game has been timing out and images were failing to load.  Been that way for days.  Unfortunately, have grown to accept it I guess.  It has been a bit discouraging and it seems to me that attention is being spent elsewhere.  50 levels of content release since the Christmas XP event when a release every 2 weeks was promised makes one scratch their head.  I thought the last server updates were the installing of new and/or better ones meant to eliminate lag issues??  I timed out completely and was booted out to the main log in page for all of HCS's games.  It stated there that there was a total of like just under 600 players site wide.  I found that a bit depressing and alarming.  This was not in an off time.  Late evening eastern standard time U.S.A.

if they are all bored to death of working on sword then get some fresh new staff and train them up and keep an old member or two supervising :) sometimes u gotta invest to keep gaining ;)

If the cows want to save the game, give more fsp when you buy them. Honestly, 400 fsp for almost $90 is garbage (no offense). Also give more rewards for donating. Every single MMO you play you get better rewards when you buy their game currency, here not so much.

Example, I play an MMO and for the cost of 400 fsp here I get 10,000 game currency PLUS I also get a crap ton of bonuses for donating. AND that 10,000 game currency lasts me 2-3 months, here 400 fsp lasts you 60 seconds.

Player rewards for donating to this game are terrible.

This upcoming app is everything..

If you think the app is going to be the game's savior, sorry but check what's in the pipe. The app will be merely a new gateway to connect with the game. Browser play still and always will dominate FS. I call it HCS' hail Mary and it will be worth zilch if the game connection woes continue. Reliability is everything. Only us old timers who have a vested interest because we've invested huge amounts of time and/or money are sticking around.

Them bringing out an app will show their level of transformation with this games interface and interaction.. An app is truly building the game from the base up interface wise.. Once they work through the app, they will see what fallensword needs navigating wise..

They do need to upgrade rewards and bring some young local game developers into this game.. Internships?!

The point is they need to work on the game first and that second or people will flood in see what we all do and go out with the tide never to return.

I agree iceman, the lag and gateway timeouts should really not happen with the new servers and optimisation promised.

 

Content isn't so much an issue but it should come out faster.

An error occurred

There was a problem storing your reputation vote.......this is a new one on me...tried to "like" a post and that error message popped up.  Really sick and tired of the glitches, lack of support, connectivity issues and broken promises.  There was a posting about acceptance, the only ones that have accepted this situation are the hard core players that have made numerous friendships in the game, everyone else has left.  The mobile app as Sweetlou pointed out is a pipe dream, HCS is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic and the ship is rapidly sinking and I see no rescue effort on the horizon by HCS. For all the recommendations and fixes we collectively suggest and the response to those efforts by HCS,  we might as well all be talking to a wall. A once great game being consciously destroyed by it's developers through what appears to be abject indifference.

I am quite disheartened with the lag and connection timeout issues in the game that have become more consistent over the past year or so. I love this game and have spent a considerable amount of time and money on it, so I'm saddened to see FS declining only because imo not enough dedicated staff time is spent on it for whatever reason(s).

Less players are logging in regularly also because of lack of content. I believe that monthly new EOC content plus weekly events for the entire FS community would increase the game's active population and keep the game thriving. However, only after the lag and connection issues are resolved... otherwise there would be no point.

I'm concerned that this game is going "sunset".

 

I understand buisiness and the need to exspand the base of a buisiness; one cannot always make everyone happy when it comes to that. Mouths have to be fed, etc......

 

Just for the record: I have always loved this game, and will continue to do so untill its removed from the internet. There are soooo many things to do even for the guys at the EoC.

 

Thank you Cows for giving me MANY hours of enjoyment here.

I would not be surprised if some of the 'new' servers of the past were actually cheaper servers or service providers that the HCS bean counters thought would be just fine.

 

It is all about the cash after all.

 

I, like many others here have spend huge amounts of time, and in the past, not inconsiderable amounts of money on this game. I'll admit to regretting the amount I spent. Like others, after a time I simply made the decision not to spend any more money here as it did not feel worth it. This was my first internet game also, and I have tried others and been unenthused. It is/was a good product.

 

But I agree it has been neglected, or at least feels neglected.

 

Maybe the mobile interface will save it, as I hoped, but as has been pointed out - there is no point getting mobile customers to log into a game that is dysfunctional. They will just walk away again. Mobile customers will not have much attention span for a game that does not work well on demand, every time. (I believe) The game platform needs to be stable, and the game needs to be consistently supported by the developers for new customers attracted by any new mobile interface to be encouraged to remain. And  spend cash.

 

I hate to say it HCS but I actively discourage new players coming into my guild from spending money on this game. Knowing from experience how much can be required, and how patience and graft can get you to similar places in the long run. You have managed to turn existing customers against you, and have, in my case at least, caused them to encourage other players not to help your bottom line. One for the bean counters to consider there.

 

 

 

The game may go into the sunset. Many have before. That will be a pity, but I guess I'll get a lot of free time back!!

 

And this morning, a cloudflare 504, a database failure to connect and something else that froze me out.  Right on cue. Sigh.

 

But despite all that - I still log in, and can still enjoy this game. It has provided me with years of interest. It is not all negative, but the current outlook is not so good. Thanks.
