Well everyone, I bought 4 if you want to know, but I bought them 10 minutes after the offer came out! Assuming, yes assuming, that the fsp would be here as the same time as the event.

100% completely agree. And based on that same logic: why is this even being discussed or considered?

That would be because a number of FS players brought up the idea on page 1. Josh and moneypants initially, it seems. Followed by Swiggity, Hiddn, and wil. The Cows are entertaining the idea, so it must mean SOMETHING to them that they can help their players as much as they can. The cows have always been opent o ideas in changing certain things if it could benefit the population of FS. This is no different.

Being INCONSIDERATE of the idea and completely discarding the idea completely would be the worst thing the Cows could do. If they choose not to change anything, c'est la vie. If they choose to change something, also, c'est la vie. The fact of the matter is not everyone will ever be pleased with whatever decision is made. That's just how it is. The Cows have done great thusfar, and I'm sure they'll come to the decision that would be the best for the community, whatever that may be.

Before now, I have only pointed out that logically, from a financial and business marketing standpoint, it makes sense that the players would have access to their FSP and the potions DURING the 2x XP event, and anyone who has ever had a hand in business will tell you the exact same thing.

If they give us access to the FSP for the event, that means happy donators.  Happy donators are likely to donate again, Business 101.  I also predict a increase in donators if they can use their FSP for the double XP event.

2 simultaneous things going on here:

1) Change the launch date.

2) Get FSP for the launch date.

My thoughts:

1: NO.

2: Don't care, though I expressed my support for that.

I'll have a chat with BigGrim about it on Monday, but yeah I think the majority of players would prefer to receive their Christmas Special Offer purchases before the event. We were just trying to avoid running it over Christmas day  :)

Sounds like that is responding to 2 on a positive note.

Maybe we could do 2 x 48 hour events this year instead? That might actually give more people a chance to take part (i.e) 48 hours starting on Friday 22nd shortly after the Christmas Special Offer is delivered and then maybe another 48 hours between Christmas and New Year. Thoughts?

This has to do with 1 and I'm 100% against. And what's more... if 2 solution above is decided upon, then it is NOT necessary.

Now this would be an interesting poll. Of the 8 or 9 that want the delivery, how many are donating?

Of the 13 or so against, how many are donating?

;-)

I plan on buying a set as well ... i just dont need to purchase them 2 weeks in advance =) unless you guys want to pay me interest in dots for the early cash advance .. lol =) Ill buy the FSP when I have immediate access to them or on the last day the offer is available ... but either way the 2XP events are always a good time for all ... appreciate them and the excellent offer on the FSP! I still really enjoy the game .. and the people of FS! Merry Christmas..

I did not donate FSP and have noting to gain or lose from the changing of dates. I have little enough stam that the date of 2XP does not really matter to me.

BUT:

If opinions matter, I think that honoring the posted 2XP event dates (and duration) is important. When the Cows have made other changes (for instance, with the tiered weapons), these have been resolved swiftly. Players have now been preparing for this announced event for 3 out of 8 days, and the larger community has no idea that the announced schedule could change.

As a disinterested party, I see both sides of the FSP delivery date. Purchases were based on assumptions. This is not the Cows' fault. However, there are some dissatisfied customers. Another solution would be to offer a second, separate FSP sale, with differing (possibly lesser)  benefits, scheduled to end on the day of the 2XP event, and then allow clients who have already donated to change over some or all of their original donation.

You said No. But go on to say you want yours on the 15th. And the others can have theirs after the 22nd. So are you saying No or Yes?

Plus it's not going to cut down on Lag. If Anything. There will be two Events with LAG. Because Everyone will participate in both EVENTS. Duh :P

I said no to the two events hoof put forward as both would be after the 15th the original date as for the lag why the heck would anyone do both events unless they have a low stam bank and need to no point wasting epic pots on two events unless you have the content to do which we wont

The thing is that the Christmas offer was not intended to fund the 2xp event or  any other Christmas activity.  It was always a way to purchase gifts for our friends, hence the delivery date rather than an instant purchase.  Now everybody wants to flip the script, not for the good of the game, but for their own personal interests.

Now this would be an interesting poll. Of the 8 or 9 that want the delivery, how many are donating?

No, I didn't donate this year, since my husband's death, I no longer have money for games  but I feel that this particular offer should remain as it was originally intended.  Just because I'm an old woman without money to burn, doesn't mean I don't have a dog in this hunt.  If I had the cash, I'd buy a package or two for my friends, not for myself , as this is what I have always understood the Christmas offer was for.  IMHO, those that want it changed are self serving and have little concern for the community as a whole.

I stand by my opinion folks. If you want your 2xp hunt funded, PLAN in advance.   I bought no FSP for this year's stuff, I saved some for the occasion.  I have 5 Global chests and a punkin pie for the event.

I'm pretty sure in the time I have been playing FS, I know just a meagre 6 years, that the Christmas Special Offer delivered chests and fsp prior to the Christmas double XP event. As the Christmas Double XP event has never been this early in the month.

With this being the case I'm at a loss to understand why there would be a problem in changing the delivery date of the Christmas Special Offer goodies so it coincided with the XP event. And yes, there is a "deilvery date" for the Christmas Special Offer so it can be sent as gifts to others but I would imagine that most would want to receive this gift prior to an XP event so they can use the goodies during it.

Cheers.

I had to go back and look. The two dates Hoof said. If he split it into two were proposed the 22 and again after Xmas, before new years. You said no to that. Unless the first was on the 15.

You may not have the stamina or content. But if they do two. With the first on the 15. I will do both. I know many who will. I have a few Epic pots to spare. And Easter is around the corner. Not to mention I could have full stam by the 22 what with DQs. Plus I still have quite a bit of content to do. It would be foolish for anyone in my shoes, not to do both

I've got to disagree. I clearly recall the Christmas boxes being delivered after the DXP. I've only been playing 9 years (!) but I'm used to getting to spend my Xmas goodies at Xmas, but after the DXP.

Then again. I gave up on buying Xmas goodies about 5 years ago. But I still paid attention. And got used to the timing of DXP. And got toasted two or three years ago when I imagined it would hit on the 20th, and it came in on the 17th, or so.

To be honest - where are the stats folk? There must be records of when each DXP happened, and when each Xmas box was released.

If those stats were released it would solve all arguments. (or at least some of them)

I remember the same Belaric :)

Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

Same for me, Belaric...

The thing I think people are overlooking is that 2x XP is for the FS anniversary, and has little to do with Christmas.  The Quests and Titans and Egg Dragons are for that part of the season.  If Hoof wants to make changes to keep a select few happy, I have no problem with that decision, but it still irritates me that he would have to do so to begin with.  I see very few wanting this change because their friends will get their pressies late.  It's primarily a bunch of "I will have to wait for my dots".   When the Christmas events start, will we get a new debate wanting another offer for that, too?  When will the wanting end?   I'd much rather this effort be put into all these improvements we all talk about, or the app that seems to be taking a lifetime to complete.   Am I alone in this opinion?  I don't think I am.....
