I purposefully didn't go into detail with my ideas because I wanted it to be a free for all with conversation / debating.  I'm NOT new to the game by any means, so I knew sparks would fly between Pro PvP and Anti-PvP groups duking it out on here.  Guys .. I'm trying to get to a larger point. I'm not interested if you think PvP is Good or Bad in the game. I don't care if you participate or don't participate in a Pro PvP change. (Please take a minute to vote in the poll though, :lol:

 

I'm interested in finding out what ideas could spur on a bit more pvp activity and bring this aspect of the game back to life.

 

I don't presume to have all the answers for this complex area of the game. I've been both a power leveler and a pvper (both on the boards, ladders, and hitting people). From my perspective (playing this game for nearly 5 years), I feel some Pro PvP changes should occur.

This is my idea of bringing pvp back to life ...

 

What if you take a radical approach? 

 

1) Remove Deflect from the game 

 

2) Stray away from limiting bountying in the game (do 10 stam clearers get bountied that often .. really?)

 

3) PvP Rewards System (you gain a point each time you successfully defeat an opponent in regular pvp .. tied to some sort of reward shop / system)

 

4) Change Smasher Medal back to any 100 stam hit (pvp protection is the counter to that if you don't want to lose XP)

 

5) Implement an Active PvPer battle system .. pitting active players versus active players

 

6) Add a PvP component to the game tutorial and possibly high light both the benefits and disadvantages

of pvping in the game / give some general tips about pvp .. such as game etiquette.

 

7) Double PvP Prestige Days / Double Thievery Activation Days ... no advanced notice given

 

8) Guild Arena - Battle your guild mates for fun or for wager .. possible medal down the road?

Agreed that We Need New Potions in Loyalty.. Only one i Buy is LF Potion ... i have over 20k worth of Loyalty points that just Sit there LOL... So Hopefully Something New would be nice.. not sure what though LOL..

 

Same .. plus I use the DB 1200 when I need to hunt.

 

 

Overall I don't see any changes with Loyalty Potions in the near future though. The road map thread has already been made on what is priority for updates and few adjustments are being made (aka re-ranking priorities).  Also, composing has allowed many powerful potions to come into the game as people reach higher and higher levels. Additionally, global events bring in many powerful potions to the game a well. And lastly, donation level potions should still be worth donating for .. which if you keep adding overpowered potions to the game .. I doubt donation potions will be worth while.

Nice update overall ...

 

What I like about the updates ...

 

1) Ladder hits not being bountyable. When you enter a ladder it is suppose to be a hitting contest.  I would limit the amount of guild mates that can enter the same ladder band to 2 though. 

 

2) Titan Scripting / Abuse is still a big problem and I'm glad your taking it more seriously. Also you might want to look into the spawning of titans as well. Some titans spawn so infrequently that 5-7 days go by before we see the titan again .. aka defeating the point of cool downs.

 

What I dislike about the updates ...

 

1) Not being able to bounty the bounty hunter. At first look, it sounds like a good update for 10 stam clearing bounty hunters.  HOWEVER, pvp smasher medal is still earned by EITHER 100 stam hits on the BB or Ladder. Your essentially saying any 100 stam hit made for the pvp smasher medal will no longer be bountyable now. If that is the case, then you should change the smasher medal to include ALL 100 stam hits, as it was originally.

 

2) Many people use the BB to PUNISH pvp attacks so they are using 100 stam hits to delevel people. The risk to reward is completely out of whack then. For example, pvp hits someone for gold with a 100 stam hit. They get bountied. Targets guild / allied guilds / mercenaries take 5 levels from pvper. Pvper can't bounty back / lost considerably more than what they took and thus discourages pvping in the game. This in turn will result in less bounties because less people are inclined to pvp.

 

3) @Saxon, brought up a good point about PvP wars. They are mainly fought out on the BB by counter bountying the people that smashed their guild mate on the BB.

 

4) Another issue is late starters on the BB. You are essentially giving them cover to smash someone a few times and not finish the bounty.

 

As you can see .. lots of potential abuses to this idea. Therefore I recommend the following change to his update before it goes live ..

 

FIX to the Issue: Not being able to bounty the bounty hunter IF the hits are 10 stam, otherwise if the hits are 10+ stam, then bountyable.

Hi there Everyone.

 

We have added 12 brand new potions to the Realm Chests (Chests that spawn in the World Realms that are opened with keys from the Loyalty Page.)

 

In addition, we have increased the spawning of them and increased the numbers spawned, hopefully allowing more of you to find these elusive items.

 

 

What do you man by World Realms? Does that mean all maps like before? 

 

Kudos for increasing spawn rate. Still think a chest locator buff or potion would be a great addiction later on.

I have suggested this a few times .. but I would like to see a chest finder potion or buff. It would indicate if a chest is within a few maps of your current map. The higher the level of the potion / buff, the more precise the notification on where the chest is. 

 

I'm leaning more towards potion only ... possibly as a chest reward?

After seeing how it was working (or wasn't) with the requests, I felt it was better to go with this system. It makes it easier to use (which can only be a good thing) and solves the issue with players requesting multiple packages from different players due to players not responding (then responding and causing duplicate buffs to be cast etc.). Overall I just think it works better :)

 

If players are not online to cast the buffs, the more ACTIVE seller should get the sale. Also, I don't see how the multiple package buffing would be an issue .. since if you have 175 buffs cast on you .. any future 175 buff being cast on you would be a duplicate at the same casting level, so it wouldn't replace it.

 

But it seems this addition is here to stay. so I'll work with it and see how it goes. I honestly don't see the reason to go full automation with buff selling. The semi-automation system we had was working fine for 99% of people.

all i know is that for me the buff marketplace has been a joke...players listing buffs for outrageous prices, and sellers not responding....i have tried twice to use the system..both times hit the send request for a buff only to never hear back from the seller...no buufs..no answers from messages...complete waste of my time and effort...something needs to be fixed...

 

This is a problem of people not "Toggling" their buff packages and being lazy. If they simply toggled them off they would not display in the buff market listings. Easy way to fix this would be to have them toggle off automatically every 2-3 hours and have sellers toggle them back on.

As a seller, I prefer having the ability to accept requests as they come in.

 

But if the system got changed to buyer control, I could live with it. However, that is total automation. Because you wouldn't be able to limit the number of times X package got bought since that would be unfair to the buyer not knowing that X package got bought X number of times in the past 24 hours. So you would set up your packages and the funds would flow in. Makes it very easy for sellers and buyers, but total automation.

1) Level 1800 Buffs

 

2) Restructuring of PvP Ladder so its competitive again / better rewards (after a better system is in place) - including potions

 

3) Add some weekend staff to resolve problems on the weekend, = )

 

4) Chest Finder Buff - I dare you to go find a chest by randomly walking around. I think you'll find at around 10,000 steps you haven't seen 1.

I think this thread because it gives attention to pvp, which I feel is one step away from being completely dead / corrupt (depending on your point of view). PvP ladder .. except for earning your dominance or smasher medal .. is pointless. 

 

Even if you did add potions or new gear .. there is a HUGE back log of tokens now.  So the value of those new items would tank rather quickly.  Consumables like potions would make the most sense to reduce the token backlog or possibly a powerful set that has a very high failure rate. 

 

Bountying ladder hits is one of the main reasons I stopped doing pvp ladder. Makes the whole thing a joke / a cheap way to get back at someone for being better at pvp / ladder. 

 

Colluding is a HUGE problem in the ladder though. I'm not sure you can FIX it though. Besides the obvious, I hit you 1 time to get 1st and you hit me 1 time to get 1st "soft ladders" .. there has always been "team play". Team play is having multiple guild mates compete in one ladder and bully out individual players playing in ladders. So some ladders are really like "GvG 2".  This team play only gets worse when you have bountyable hits on the pvp ladder (think about it)

 

Suggestion: Remove the ladder and make all players have a pvp rating again. Secondly, increase pvp ranges at strategic intervals to promote pvp.  As for dominance medal, make it top 10 players in the game out of top 100 list (resets every month). --> Twist on how we did things before the pvp ladder

 

**If you buy pvp protection, then you would have no pvp rating. If you lose protection / it runs out, then you would start at the default / starting pvp rating.

that implies the only reason to play is to level endlessly,  :lol:.  At some point, people will get bored of just leveling up endlessly. I guess that was my point.

Or, you could just be grateful for 

 

1. The 500+ free FSP's worth of upgrades you got

     and

2. The fact there is a 2x xp event.

 

Give some folk an inch, and they demand a mile.... 

 

I agree with what you said .. but if you had just blown your entire 20, 30, 50k stamina on a hunt just to find out if you waited a little longer .. it would have been double the experience overall, you would be a bit upset. 

 

They didn't have to give us any of these benefits, but it was poor timing to give the booster then wait 12-24 hours then announce XP event .. regardless of whether you think advanced warning should be given for XP events or not OR  whether you think those people are justified or not.
