id like to see it changed a little bit id love to see the exp diffrence between items alot more comparable

what i suggest is all items have a base exp so for example a item that cost 1 coarse cloth to make have a base exp of say 10 exp and we move up to an item that takes 5 coarse cloth to make it should give 50 exp as an item that cost 5 cloth to make shouldnt give better exp then an item that requires 12 cloth so id like to see it change in a way it would be fairest to all gamers and that would be to give all items we harvest and make have a base exp point per ingredient used just a thought

Thanks for reading :)

They reccently changed the crafting XP etc, it's become considerably easier to lvl crafting and gathering, with the possible exclusion of foraging. Nothing more needs to be done to it, otherwise leveling skills will become too easy.

foraging needs to be adjusted just a bit so it doesn't get so far behind alchemy in all fairness

Foraging would be the only skill I agree could possibly do with some alteration.

We're playing an MMO. what's the hurry with the leveling? Is'nt the point of these games to play them for a while? Why would you want to be max level for everything in a week? I don't know about you all, but after i master skills in a game and am all powerful, the game starts to get a bit boring because there are no longer any goals or new activities.

Gathering in this game has made me loads of loot. I've made over 60 gold at lvl9 just form selling things to people and im not even in the second tier of any gathering or crafting profession. having a blast doing it too.

I'm working to be a Jack of All Trades. If you need something gathered, let me know. I won't charge much for gathering it because I'm raising my skills anyway. For farming, though, I need you to buy the compost, scarecrows, etc.. /w me anytime and i'll gather for you as long as i'm not gathering for someone else at the time. (US server)

The problem with crafting (lw, bs, tailor, ws) is the incentive. As I've said in a multitude of threads, look at the time it takes to quest and run dungeons, then look at the time it takes to craft. Now compare rewards. When it takes about 10x as long to work on something and only gain a fraction of the reward than if you were to run easy dungeons, there is a problem with balance and scale.

You said you made 60g. My best guess here is you made that selling gathering components for people leveling crafting. No one in their right mind would touch something actually crafted considering the fact that doing quests is 10x more rewarding. Those people who bought gathering components, do you know what they get out of it? A loss. The market is terribly one-sided in favor of people selling materials instead of products. Even in the later crafting levels, dungeons are still more rewarding. Just because you are making a killing doesn't make the system right.

To be clear, the time it takes someone to craft isn't the problem. These people complaining about the time it takes need to stop and look at the big picture. Crafting isn't very rewarding. Even when it may become rewarding, leveling it is still too tedious due to the lack of reward at low levels when compared to dungeons at low levels.

If you try to level crafting at lower levels, you will often end up out-leveling the quests in your inventory. This is especially true as a skinner / leatherworker. The idea of crafting is to gear yourself, but what is the point of leveling it if you can level your character to 40 just through crafting, never making the most of the gear you're making? There is no problem if you want to level like that, but a lot of us don't. There should be a feature to turn off character xp while crafting / gathering for the people who actually want to craft and still get a chance to do all the quests, without being over-leveled.

This is really a good idea

What's wrong with being over-levelled??  I've been slightly "over-levelled" recently because my equipment is/was "under-levelled" so at the right level I wasn't quite strong enough to do some quests. And it seems completely fine and fun to play that way.

There is nothing wrong with it and if that's how you like to play you have every right to.

With that said, I don't enjoy being over-leveled because it breaks my immersion with the game. When I quest, I want the challenge to reflect my current level (even if quests are already too easy). Because quests and mobs aren't level-scaled, there needs to be another option available to us who care. Having the option to turn gathering and crafting xp on and off is a viable option because it doesn't hurt anyone.

i was only meaning to level out the diffrence between crafting lower tier items and higher tier items

why would i craft an item that requires 12 coth to make when crafting 2x boots that require 5 cloth each to make gives better exp. i just feel there is no choice when it comes to making items. craft these boots or be punished by exp loss to craft this leg armor. i dont want them to raise exp alot just level it out so u feel like you have a choice to craft what ever you like.
