for some reason i always get more resources than by products(wood sap/crystal powder) but there's a problem. i need those porducts to make any use of the resources that i gather. please make it so we can turn the resources into by products or be able to buy them, better yet get rid of it and make it so we do not need them to make the material.

Having an excess of the base material, like logs, compared to the byproducts also creates an opportunity to sell or trade your excess base material to people that would rather not spend their time cutting wood. Then the person buying logs can just buy the byproducts from the vendor and create their material. I don't know if it will work that way in practice, but the opportunity is there.

thanks for the tip. found it. didn't check the side one only check the center, probably better if it was sold by the skills trainer.

If you´re doing lots of repeatable training quests, you´ll get an overflow of byproducts as the trainers ask mostly for the normal materials.
Unfortunatelly that doesn´t work for Amethyst/Crystal Powder yet.

These values have been tweaked since this suggestion was made so you get a little more of the "other" resources from the resource nodes.
